nicko Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 Who's the key negotiator? Nicko, who is it that is getting Negredo and the truth about Vieiri please? Pass on the first question. Negredo and Tottenham does seem favourite despite Harry's denials. Vieri was simply too overweight...and [don't laugh] the word is he wants to concentrate on a career in poker. Too bizarre for words. My only thought just now is that Di Santo looks like a great signing...but if he doesn't come you could be knackered.

He played really well yesterday and I have a sneaky suspicion that Ancelotti will want to keep him
nicko Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 Do you think that will happen, Nicko? He played really well yesterday and I have a sneaky suspicion that Ancelotti will want to keep him The deal should happen, but I dread to think what happens if Chelsea do a U-turn on it. Finding one new striker is hard, finding too well-nigh impossible.
rovers1995 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Ok thanks Nicko, I know you've had a tough weekend, so thanks for keeping us updated as much as you have been able to
blue and whites Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 what about chamackh nicko? Anything in that.? And is zigic still our top target.? Would have thought sam would have wanted to buy a striker by now
G Somerset Rover Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I know its going over old ground but why let RSC leave if it's 'nigh on impossible' to sign strikers right now? Get a replacement sorted and then sell your man. If we don't bring in two front men - one needs to be of top quality then the board are screaming to be relegated.

slough_rover Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I think di santo will still sign shame about vieri if we can get alan smith well be ok Two things that extremely worry me about your post. Firstly "shame" about Vieri...the guy hasnt been fit for about 3 years! Secondly well be ok with Alan Smith...ok as in how exactly?? what has Alan Smith done in the last 5 years that merits him helping us....just answer me HOW!!!!!

Replacing Cruz with Smith is on par with giving Fowler a second chance in my opinion.

Thats in premier league and i dont say sub appearances boss find a better striker in premier league in 7-8 m pound braket
Stevo Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 A better striker in the premier league in the 7-8mil bracket... Firstly Smith isn't in the premiership! Here's a little list for you though: Kenywnne Jones Kevin Davies John Carew Caicedo James Beattie Marlon Harewood (Yes, even he would be better than Smith) All of these guy's would do a better job for us than Alan Smith. And I am just sticking to a certain type of striker as well.

Keny Jones rejected 16m froms spurs kevin davies is 32 so 2 season tops john carew is first teem at villa so why would he come caicedo is a good player on fifa but how many people actually see him james beattie would be quality if couple of years yunger marlon harwood NO NO NO NO jason roberts a lot better ok boss try again
BPF Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I'd take that Preston freak Parkin over Smith! I'm sure that there is every possibility of coming up with a conclusive list of Championship strikers who would make a bigger impact. Your ID suggests that you are taking the p**s? If not, please look it up ASAP. With that in mind...Are you Alan Smith?
Stevo Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 On Jones - 16mil was a claim and not true. With the players they are getting in, we can get him in and around the 7-8mil bracket. Kevin Davies is 32, yes. Alan Smith is crap. Carew - Villa have been actively looking for replacements. He is likely to be shunted out. Watch that space. Caicedo - not sure about Fifa, seen him play in real life. Great prospect. James Beattie is surely not much older than Alan Smith? Roberts is better than Harewood yes. Harewood is still better than Alan Smith however.
slough_rover Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Smiths been as crocked as Reid and Dunn for starters so how many games a season do you really expect him to play...For 7-8 million theoretically could get the likes of Chamakh and Janko who are worth much more of a punt than "smudge". Hell even 5 million for Zamora is better and thats saying something!!!
Guest FelchMaster Khan Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 has anyone seen nick blackman play he 6 foot 2 so would be good for long ball could he not be the answer he was sams 1st signing
slough_rover Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 has anyone seen nick blackman play he 6 foot 2 so would be good for long ball could he not be the answer he was sams 1st signing No where near ready enough for the EPL yet

I think MON wanted him out but knows he can't because he would probably have to follow him through the door!! On his day he is unplayable..... You can have Marlon though
saxo1man30 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Rapid Vienna 1 - 0 Liverpool Hoffmann 58 thought the striker we were linked with was called erwin HOFFER, oui? you`ve got the wrong player you doughnut! our alleged target didn`t score. he did have one ruled offside though..
