only2garners Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 As secretary of the Fans Forum I have had a phone call from ESPN asking for help in finding some Rovers fans for some footage for their new coverage this season (they have Setanta's coverage). His email below explains what they are looking for. It's refreshing that they want fans rather than yet more pictures of Gerrard, Terry, Torres etc. He needs to move quickly and so wants to get names of some willing volunteers who will be available in the next couple of weeks and are prepared to be filmed. You will not be interviewed or need to say anything. If any one wants to volunteer or knows of someone who fits what Dominic is looking for can you pm me with your email address in the next 24 hours i.e. by Friday lunchtime (17th). John *** ESPN WANTS PREMIER LEAGUE FANS *** I'm a TV producer currently working with for a brand new sports channel ahead of the new football season. We are going to be filming some idents ahead of the big kick off and rather than focus on players, we want to focus on the fans, so if you're local to your club and are interested in being the face of your team please get in touch asap! The idea of the channel's new ad campaign is to use real fans in various different environments. Some would feature something as simple as a family of football fans sat on their sofa in their home shirts, while others would feature fans in locations related to the club (a Stoke fan making a Stanley Matthews jug in a local pottery; a West Ham fan on his grocery market stall etc). Some would focus on an eleven year old who has the full Spurs bedroom thing going on (duvet, wallpaper, rug etc), while others would feature a fan whose entire house is decked out in Aston Villa memorabillia. On the other hand, it could even be as simple as just getting a picture of a fan walking down a street, or standing at a bus stop that fans of that club would recognise as being local to their team. Are you or any of your friends huge fans of your club? Do you know of any families that go en mass to the game every week and transcend the different generations? Do you know anyone that runs a stall selling club merchandise, or a local shop decked out in your teams memorabillia? Any kids that are football mad and have the bedroom to prove it? Or anyone whose whole house is a shrine to the club?
