Smithy Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Your all just jealous, because we got Jamie Mackie!!!!!
Aberdeen Blue Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Scottish football must be in a worse state than I thought! It is sh**e, believe me! Blackman is doing Ok and it will not harm his development to get in the habit of hitting the back of the net, even against pub teams. leave him where he is for now.
Backroom Tom Posted December 19, 2010 Backroom Posted December 19, 2010 Wonder if Blackman may get a shot, I noticed he is on SEM's website which is run by Philips favourite guy Jerome Anderson
Amo Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Someone tell me he'd be any worse than Benjani. Go on, I dares ya!
Bobby G Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 He cant be any worse surely. It kills me to think that Allardyce and Kean both think Kalinic is worse though!
Amo Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 He cant be any worse surely. It kills me to think that Allardyce and Kean both think Kalinic is worse though! Yup. It's scandalous that we're developing Man. Utd's trainee and giving gametime to Benjani but we're happy to let £6m rot away on the bench.

Utd's trainee and giving gametime to Benjani but we're happy to let £6m rot away on the bench. Erm. Scandelous? How? Both Diouf and Benjani(just) still offer more threat in front of goal than Big Sams collosal waste of £6mil.
Amo Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Erm. Scandelous? How? Both Diouf and Benjani(just) still offer more threat in front of goal than Big Sams collosal waste of £6mil. Really? Where was that threat yesterday?
HemelRover Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Really? Where was that threat yesterday? Ok, will give it in percentages. Kalinic offers 5% threat(assuming the goalie drops the ball onto his toes). Benjani offers 10% threat. Diouf offers 20% threat. A small threat is better than no threat.

m1st Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Getting back on topic, does anybody know how long Blackman's loan at Motherwell's for? Is it till January, or for all the season? If the latter, is there a "recall" clause in it? I wonder how he'll go on at Motherwell, now that Craig Brown & Archie Knox [remember him?] have moved to Aberdeen.

In Rigters´ and Zurab´s cases it´s understandble but not with young striker. If he can´t make it in Pl level atleast Rovers should make sure he doesn´t go for free. Blackman is worth for seven figures after Motherwell goals.

Both Neil Blackman and Alex Marrow are on-loan at their respective clubs until January (official site), with both their contracts expiring at the end of the season. Like I've said already this season, it's worth renewing them to secure our investment at least.

daveoftherovers Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Think you're being a bit generous to Benjani there. Far too generous, he's an accident waiting to happen, and it's not in the oppositions penalty area either, to say he looks fragile is an understatement! I really don't rate the guy at all, it was all a measure of desperation when we signed him. As for Blackman, I think they should fetch him back and loan him out to an english championship club, if he does well there, then we are onto something, that league is a decent measure of a prospect, I don't want to cause offence, but the league he is in, is hardly what I'd call a decent measure to the PL. Obviously, I want the guy to do well, and scoring goals is a good habit to get into.

Commondore Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Steve Kean seems to play with two strikers instead of one, that should work in Blackman's favor.
John Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Steve Kean seems to play with two strikers instead of one, that should work in Blackman's favor. Great, can't wait to see 2 average strikers on the pitch instead of 1.
tony gale's mic Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Great, can't wait to see 2 average strikers on the pitch instead of 1. Yeah, two strikers means double the goals!!!!!!!!!
philipl Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 LT reporting that Nick Blackman is back at Rovers.
Amo Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 LT reporting that Nick Blackman is back at Rovers. With Kalinic suspended, Roberts crocked and Benjani just... well, crap, Blackman has the chance to stake a claim.
Backroom Tom Posted December 31, 2010 Backroom Posted December 31, 2010 I remember seeing Nick was due back on the 4th but its good if we can have him on the bench for tomorrows game.
Doaksie Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 BBC article from Wednesday: Blackburn could let Nick Blackman stay at Motherwell Motherwell interim boss Gordon Young: "I've already spoken to Steve Kean. He has intimated they would look to re-sign him and they would have no objection to loaning him back to Motherwell. He is keen to stay here." Looks like he'll be back to cover the next few weeks with a lot of games and us being short of attacking options, but the plan is to send him back to Scotland after January when/if we sign our new forward and Roberts/Kalinic are back again. Unless of course he scores a bucketful for us.
braddock Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 He won't score a bucket load. He isn't good from what I've seen. I hope he proves me wrong.
