Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 So can we confirm whether Milner counts or not because if he doesn't count then I will change my prediction before tomorrow's deadline.
LeChuck Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Surely he can't count, it's a bit of an unfair punishment to those of us who have waited until closer to the season before guessing!

DeadlyDirk Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 As someone mentioned in the other thread this shouldn't count as the premier league season doesn't start till saturday. So can we confirm whether Milner counts or not because if he doesn't count then I will change my prediction before tomorrow's deadline. Surely he can't count, it's a bit of an unfair punishment to those of us who have waited until closer to the season before guessing! I'm happy to go with the majority in all honesty. I don't want to punish the people that did pick Milner either. (I didn't for the record.) How about anyone who picked Milner get's 20 points for getting it correct but for everyone that's picked people like Wilshere/Wellbeck/Anyone Else can still get their 20 points if their selection is the next player who plays for England. That way the people that did pick Milner don't get punished and the people that waited till close to the season don't get punished either. Oh and I can't promise anything but there may be a chance of a prize for the winner, won't be anything exciting just something I get free from work around the time, probably a T shirt or something.

DeadlyDirk Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 Okay I'll let this one stand as it was entered before the Chelsea game kicked off. Voting is now closed. Just to clarify on the first england international situation and the debate on the season not starting yet - 1. Anyone picking Milner will get the full 20 points 2. Whoever gets picked next for England will also be worth 20 points
DeadlyDirk Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Just bumping this if anyone wants to laugh at their own predictions and so I can find it quicker, I'll hopefully start trying to put together some results in the next few weeks. Anyone not picking us to take 6 points from the Dingles should be ashamed. Can anyone tell me who was top and bottom at Christmas? I'm thinking Chelsea and Portsmouth but if someone can confirm that would be great.
Backroom Tom Posted April 14, 2010 Backroom Posted April 14, 2010 I couldn't have been more wrong if I tried

DeadlyDirk Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 How are those stats looking at the moment? Managed to guess McCarthy not being here, but I don't get any points for it. I've only just started putting them together so don't really have any results yet, obviously most of the predictions require waiting until the end of the season. Anyone pick Phil Jones for this question? Rover Most Likely To Step Up From Reserves/Youth: Without reading through them all I don't think many if any did, which just goes to show how quickly he has come on this year, I actually went for Gunning who I believed to be the better prospect at the time, full credit to Jonesy. Edit: Just looked through them all and Jones didn't get a single mention.
Commondore Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I was hoping no one would remember this thread... Some pretty bad guesses on my behalf concerning West Ham and Man City in particular... I think I nailed Hughes as first manager to go though, or was there someone before him?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I think Hart went before Hughes didn't he?
DeadlyDirk Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Yes, Hart was the first to go on November 24th, beating Hughes who left on December 19th. Quite surprising in some ways only 4 managers (Plus Coyle leaving Dingles on his own accord) have been sacked in the premiership this year, not sure how that compares to usual seasons but seems quite low considering all the talk is usually about how quick to change clubs are. Megson and Brown are the other two sacked not previously mentioned.
Plastic Head Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Those who thought the dingles would stay up... SHAME ON YOU Those who thought Di Santo would be our top scorer... SHAME ON YOU Those who thought Liverpool would be Champions... SHAME ON YOU Those who thought Maceo Rigters wouldn't be still here... SHAME ON YOU Those who thought Robinho would be top Premier League scorer (err me)... SHAME ON YOU AND ME
