There´s a last chance to sell Gally and get seven figures payment. In January nobody pays much for the player who´s out of contract soon. And Gally won´t sign a new one even if offered if he doesn´t get first team football. Gally money would be enough for Salgado´s wages. Very disappointed if Sam won´t get his man who clearly would help us many ways. Off topic but is Nelsen injured or does he play tomorrow, anyone?

Nicko, is it true that Sheff Utd are keen to keep Bunn after impressing them? I personally hope not i'd rather get rid of Brown then Bunn. Bunn from all i've heard has decent potential.

As I understand it, Sheff Utd only have Bunn for a month and are looking to extend the loan because their goalie is suspended for drug abuse. I haven't read anything that talks in terms of a permanent move or even a season loan.

I do tend to agree about Bunn, the only downside I can see is his height, but by far the best keeper I have ever seen for Rovers was Roger Jones and he kept Shilton out of the team at Stoke!!! he wasnt too tall either.

I wouldnt like to part with Fielding either, looks like he is definately one for the future!

Good coaching will see him fine, Casillas is hardly the tallest but knows his limitations well. Bunns got potential which we'll see while he's on loan.

I don't think 13 caps for France and a Champions league losers medal means he is a world class player.

Do we have any world class players? I save that term for the very best players (Ronaldo, Messi etc.)

I fully agree Bucky. I must have asked people on here to stop exaggerating a million times already!

see you`ve avoided my comparison to alan shearer nicely there. so i`ll ask again, would you consider that alan shearer was a world class player?

No definitely not. But like Steve Gerrard he was about the best Sat afternoon club man in the game.

At last a voice of sanity on the MB.

A rather strange statement from somebody with over 17000 posts to his name Gunner. :P:lol:

Sell Gally for £500k with a 25% sell on clause attached - it will save us £20k a week, and ensures that if he ever does anything good, we profit - he wont though!

Selgado will sign - dont worry about that one!

Interesting negotiating tactics- didn't we receive an offer of £1.6m for Gally?

Sorry but Salgado does have a presence and would be a positive influence on the dressing room and players, I hardly say it was drivel (the fact he's mentioned to me means he probably does know a thing or two because I haven't seen it mentioned before). My only bone is he's not a creative player but he would be good for the club.

All you've done is exactly what your having a go at him for.:lol:

Training photos from Ewood!..........

Grella looking very strong and Fit...........

Emerton and Reid doing the slogg......

and theres a surprise player amongst them!................Must be the longest trial in the History of the game..........

Sorry if this has been answered before; but along with Van Der Meyde (training kit #48), who is the guy wearing training kit #14?

Can't say I've seen him before, could be one of our younger players (for instance Phil Jones), but maybe some of you can confirm who he is? Cheers! :rover:

Helpful hint.

BUNN...could stay at Sheff U if Kenny is banned...very strong chance.

SALGADO...wait and see job now...Sam really pinned his colours to the mast...still smiling to myself about that one...he knows how to 'play the game.'

WARNOCK...no club comment because I don't think that one is over with yet...by my reckoning Villa have THREE lives bids for players - and all three are below the amounts wanted by the selling club...so that move may happen if they decide Warnock is worth more than the pitiful opening bid.

Can i also just remind people saying Jacobsen is injury plagued that he really hasn't been that much bar last season. He dislocated his shoulder, which last time i checked, has nothing to do with his legs. From what i can tell, his shoulder dislocation was a pretty straight forward injury that just needed time to heal.

Any player who had been out of the game for a while is bound to be a bit rusty. But i bet you all that he will be more then worth his free transfer before long.

Oh and to the chap that said Gael isn't world class, i suggest you look at his CV, and look at some of his performances and style of play. If we hadn't have got him in July, i can pretty much garentee he will have been a Arsenal player right now.

That was probably me and a couple others.

I think Givet is class. I love his style of play - he's a proper defender. I'm delighted that we've got him, and don't doubt that a few other clubs were sniffing around.

However, he is not world class IMO. I reserve the term 'World Class' for the very best. As I said earlier, there is no yardstick, no definitive answer, I just don't believe that he is in this league.

An example of a centre back who IMO truly was 'world class' in recent years (maybe not so now) is Fabio Cannavaro. I just don't buy into the whole throwing the term round at anyone whose an International/Champions League regular.

OK, given that we now have Jacobsson and Givet as full backs, along with our two Centre backs = a very much defensive back four, it would suggest to me that when all the players are available, we will go with a 4 - 3 - 3 formation!!

Especially if Sams comments of him playing Salgado in a Hierro type role, which was a holding player in a midfield 3!

Any thoughts on this?

Well if the hungarian lad Priskin can go to Ipswich for £1.7m then we should be at least looking for the same money for Gally.

Nicko,

Are the 3 players...Warnock, Distin & Dunne??

Not sure why he wants Warnock we NEED centre halves!!!

I think one of them may be either Wheater or Huth, I seem to recall O'Neill was in the crowd for Boro's opener against Sheff Utd last Friday nite.

Are you sure he's referring to the position on the field and not just on the mental-side? English is not my first language, but to me it sounds more like that Sam's waiting for Salgado to be a Hierro-type leader with influence in the pitch and dressing room.

I think Budha has hit the nail on the head here. Kelbo I haven't seen anywhere that Sam has said that he'll be playing Selgado as a holding midfielder! I also think he's simply saying that because he has such class, he could play anywhere. I'm pretty sure he'll line up as a RB for us.

He has said that when he got hierro as a centre back he was too slow and played him in midfield and sees a similar situation here!!
