I'd love a decent midfielder, but we've got about 15 mediocre ones already that nobody wants to buy. Anyone offering to give Steven Reid a piggyback (I'm sure he can't walk two yards anymore without dislocating a knee/pelvis/spine) round to clubs and see if they'll give us 50p for him seeing has he's hardly played in the last 2/3 years? If he does string more than two games together, he was never amazing in the first place so I can't see him being better now. And god knows who's idea it was to keep Andrews when Fulham were offering real money to buy him with.

So a a high calibre defender who would raise the profile, morale and quality of the squad and make room for other competent players like Warnock and Emerton to play midfield, would be the next best thing for me when we've not got two pennies to rub together to buy anyone, nevermind 'the next Tugay'.

No, I've seen him play in a couple of reserve matches during pre-season. I believe he still has a couple of years left on his contract.

That must be just be so they've got numbers whilst they find other players, if they manage to get Viduka I imagine they'll let him go after that month.

Very stupid of Kanu though, that severely reduces his chances of finding another club - he stays past August 31st he'll be screwed until January.

There's this doozy of a trick called the Ignore feature. Unfortunately it doesn't work when people continue to quote the Troll Prince.

Sam's "failings" so far are saving the club from imminent relegation. Anything else is academic.

Yeah Sam gets away with a lot doesn't he. Taking us from bottom of the PL to safety with a few games to spare.

Then removing the deadwood that Hughes and Ince failed to do and bringing in young players with a few experienced heads to guide them.

Point 1. Sam didn't sign a league 2 player.

Point 2. I thought the lower league coaches weren't to bad, it was the senior older coaches that weren't good enough.

Point 3. Every PL manager does, there is a reason scouts are paid big money to fly off around the world and watch players. Btw if there is a scouting job available I am up for it
