I was in the Dunkenhalgh this morning at 9.00-9.30am looking at a possible wedding venue and who looked to be Nikola Kalinic came walking past with a Rovers tracksuit on? He was with a mate and a some guy from rovers, prob there to pick him up

I dont post often but thought people would be very interested in this

A bit worrying if Pompey and Porto are back in for him. Id much rather this finished quickly.

Whats the drag about?

Well from reading Metaler's post above, sounds like he's still around Blackburn. And if he got a Rovers tracksuit on, maybe he is going for a medical? :)

Re the link unleaded posted in the links-

there are at least two other Prem clubs tracking Warnock so Sam is playing games.

Campbell to Villa? Dad's Army alert!!! Ancelotti pulled it off at AC Milan but having a keeper and CB with combined ages of 75?

We are not out of the danger zone for losing Chis Samba either by any stretch of the imagination.

PS sorry guys about my previous post- didn't mean to cause problems but was just irritated that all your questions had already been answered this morning- or at least as well answered as could be possible. To wit:

Kalinic walked out of the Dunk in a Rovers track suit with a Rovers' staffer and ANO at 9.30am this morning.

Nigel Clough talked about signing Fielding as his back up 'keeper in the Derby local rag yesterday

Rovers apparently offered Nasciento a 3 year deal on Thursday.

Which way were they heading towards the exit or towards the bar? ;)

Nicko or someone did post saying if the deal was not going to happen, Split wanted him back for the game today, so it looks as though Split are comfortable with the fee and now down to the medical and finalising the contract!!

Great point Kelbo. There was a huge commotion about getting the deal done quickly or bring him back so he plays for us on Saturday.

If he's not lining up for Split then surely it's close.

Split said Deal or come back yesterday - He hasnt gone back, he was spotted at the hotel this morning and therefore he is still here (So not at Porto). It looks likely, IF he was spotted in a rovers trackie then that suggests its medical day for him.

BFS has shown all pre-season he is going to be patient.. its more like a shopping trip, you set out with a list of 50inch TVs with the goal of buying the baddest you can find.. but when you get there cash in hand a 40inch, full HD, 100hz TV with all the bells and whistles is available at a bargain price... I know which one I would go for.

On another note Nicko was there any further news on the Brazilian Kid? And has Rigters been released (sorry I may of missed that in with the whas happening with Di Santos questions)?

got 2 years left on his contract......and he's that bad he'd never make the same money or anywhere near anywhere else, so i doubt he'd take a lump sum to call it a day.

if we sign the croat how much will we have spent this summer, givet+croat must be 10m+, can't be that much left?

If that's the case then we should hopefully heard anytime this afternoon, early evening. I assume we wouldn't wait for a work permit decision before announcing the deal.

Thanks for the update on Fielding philip, like I said I don't think we should sell him, not for the 250k or so I believe was reported before, he is still young and can be a good keeper, if we want Bunn to perhaps go on loan I don't see how we can let Fielding go, You need at least 3 decent keepers on the books at any given time.

It'll be very interesting if we did manage to get Kalinic and Di Santo in by the end of the weekend, a lot of us I'm sure will admit were beginning to panic a little and now it may seem we've done all the business we absoloutley needed to do and now have the benefit of perhaps having a bit left over to look at other areas and a good couple of weeks before the season starts. Meanwhile teams like Hull, Pompey, Villa, Everton, Sunderland, Tottenham and many more are still fighting hard to try and land their targets.

It's actually shaping up to be an excellent pre season us in terms of transfers and seeing some good things in the games by some of the new additions, promising signs from Elrio, Jacobsen, Hoilett and N'Zonzi who cost a combined fee of about 500k! (Although Hoilett was technically here he's like a new signing)

Reading an article on Kalinic and the subject of who might be his new team mates and it went through all the usuall suspects...................the Bennis,Sambs etc etc and then it came to Robinson yes the one whos looking for a Mole!(ref to his mishap for England).......................

On the recent tour to Croatia with blackburn when he landed at the airport he was asked by one of the reporters......

"Hey Mr Robinson have you found the mole yet!!!!.........It wasnt you Nicko was it?

I think Kalinic is, on paper at least, about the perfect striker signing a club in our position could have made. Who knows how it'll pan out but I'll be delighted iif this goes through.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Exciting times (trying not to get excited, eeek!)

I am curious, how come everyone's so excited about Kalinic. I do not know much about him - so perhaps I would be excited if I did know.

However, from what little clips I've seen, he's a young goal poacher. His wikipedia page seems to have been written by his agent, a lot of positive spin there. Bilic called him the future of Croatian football, which seems to have helped him along but no-one seemed to know about him until he turned up at Pompey on trial...

I dont know much about him either which makes it even more exciting. Much rather sign an up and coming star in the making over some over-rated, over-paid type like Bent, Crouch, Jones etc.

I love the goal that starts at 1:16 here:

Looks like a brilliant bit of skill, then a powerful shot, then a display of bravery to challenge for the rebound, then his persistence pays off with a technically difficult improvised finish. Shows quite a lot in that little clip.

Everyone needs to get down to the Dunk and give him a Darius Vassell welcome and act as though he is a God among men. Or just make him feel welcome if you see him.

Biglia would bee immense but I seriously doubt we'll get both. If we got Di Santo, Biglia and Kalinic I'd say we'd be in the mix for Europe.

He's on his way to Sheffied......................

Dunn, Reid and Emerton are not involved today at all for the friendly. Not a recognised central midfielder on the bench, Warnock on left wing. Hopefully if we sort the new centre forwards out in the next couple of days, then surely there will be investment in a midfielder before the season starts. Cant be in a position where Keith Andrews is our first choice CM.
