Midfeilder Senijad Ibričić Linked with Rovers........same club as our Latest recruite............Scored v Blackburn about a month back.......Amazing scoring record for a midfeilder .Strong as an ox...........and Great at set peices..........Ideal for Big Sam.........

Is that because it has been mentioned on here or is it because there is genuine interest , hope its the latter, quality player.

Replace 'awkward' with 'impatient' then, if you wish.

I usually agree with most of your posts, but this summer you've been twisting everything to be as negative as possible. Despite the fee being agreed (LET), you picked out one line ('all parties') and turned it into something to moan about.

You were writing about the club being a joke and having a pop at the board/Allardyce in June for not having signed a striker already, that really set the tone for what you've been posting.

I'm genuinely curious as to why. Nobody without an agenda has genuine concerns that players haven't been signed by the start of July. Is it a disliking for Allardyce?

Revidge went over to the Dark Side months ago! Big fan of Andrews now!

Poggy fee to Stuttgart is just £4 million...that is interesting to say the very least.

And Crouch's fee was quoted at upwards of 12M but I see he eventually went to Spurs for 9M. Yet people still wnat Sam to dive in and pay whatever is asked first up!

hi all,

just thought might be worth a shout for midfield Jefferson Farfan remember he was linked here before anyone know where he's at at the moment? technically looked good and had a good cross on him.

He is at Schalke. He would probably cost a fortune and although it's a great shout he is much like Ghilas in that he plays as a winger/striker and this is not what we are looking for.

But we nearly signed Ghilas...which suggests this might be something we are looking for...

On the issue of midfielders, I've read that Modeste M'bami was on trial with Portsmouth. Has he actually signed a contract? If not, maybe Sam can add insult to injury and grab him. And what is going on with Joey Barton. Is he still on Sam's radar?

If they will pay us something like 20 million pounds, Id reluctantly accept it.

Only if it meant signing another center back as well as a creative midfielder.

But worryingly he is one of our last bankable assets at this club. I dont think Warnock would get that much. Cant see any other player getting anything more than 2-3 million either. Maybe Kalinic in the future.

i would love Riqueleme if he could be tempted back across this side of the pond, or Pablo Aimar - don`t think there is any hope at all, but they fill the creative midfielder slots for me.

Referrign back to someone else`s post, I think Robbo fits in to a bracket above the 2-3 million mark, as well as Nelson / Pederson / Reidy&Emo(if both fit)

We have several who would still fetch more than 3 million. McCarthy would most probably still do, Robinson certainly would, Nelsen might depending on who became interested, Emerton, MGP, possibly even the likes of Roberts and Andrews (if you look at the Fulham interest). It's all about having one club interested when you don't have to sell.

Samba is replaceable, I think his stock has risen above his talent. I'm not sure that a combination of Givet, Nelsen and Zurab would be noticeably worse than that plus Samba. We shouldn't be looking to sell him, but it shouldn't be out of the question.

BBC Gossip & Transfers makes the concept of reading the News of the World far too depressing - if they're to be believed, Warnock's off and BENJANI is coming.

I wouldn't get too bothered as the same story from the NOTW linking us to Benjani reckon that Ghilas "snubbed a move to Ewood Park" as well. Which clearly points to a story with only a minimal amount of research done, and is probably based on hearsay at best, complete fabrication at worst. To me it just seems to be as good as a made up story to fill column inches.

The whole article is about our "striker crisis" in fact, with absolutely no mention of Di Santo or the Croatian lad.

NOTW also said that Ghilas and Crouch turned us down, and in the preview of our season the whole article was centred around our need to find new strikers without so much as a mention of Kalinic or Di Santo..

Shows what they know!

When you think back to Hughes" best year, we really had a striker crisis-----------Bellamy true but he couldn't play in a lot of games + Kuqi and Dickov. Where did we finish?------6th and hit 4 past Manu. The point is we had Bentley who has never been replaced. The 4 strikers we will start with were beyond our wildest dreams back then but need a creative midfielder to complement them.

To use a Nicko-ism, TLJ mate, TLJ. (Tired and Lazy Journalism).

Keep the faith. The noises coming out of Ewood / Dunkenhalgh / Brockhall are the only sounds that make any sense at the moment. Anything else is just TLJ B)
