Good news on the Gally front, be good to cash in on him after a decent pre season, in reality he shouldn't be near our first time.

Free up some wages towards a midfiled box to box man.

I like Pedersen alot, but i think if he went we wouldnt miss him terribly if Iam honest. He has been decent enough without ever replicating the form of 05/06 when he was undoutedly one of the best left wingers in the division. Truth is, he's not done too much since. He didnt start for the first team at Sheffield on the weekend and if he doesnt sign a new deal then i wouldnt hesitate to get shot.

Sad, but if Sam has a better replacement lined up and considering how long we've waited for the old MGP to return, i dont think we can afford to miss out on any offers which come in.

Well in the last couple of seasons pedersons decline in goalscoring and getting forward has been due to the amount of tracking back he has been asked to do, watch his goals form the season before and the majority came at the back post from deep crosses from the right, if your asked to track back it takes some pace to get to the back post from a defensive postion.

Prem football is far more advanced than any other league but mentality remains the same, if you are a regular right back and played against ped before you are sure to know that he has been asked to drop back therefore you and your right mid can push on.

I think that ped has plenty to offer but not in big sams kind of football, he likes pace and balls whipped in, ped likes to shoot from distance a big sam no no, its interesting to see hoillet and van heerden both could play on the left including warnock.

I wouldnt be surprised at all to see pederson on his way out, for the people that dont see his work ethic a cheeky grin will only last so long.

Agulo, can play on either winger, was class in his day and still better than MGP now, not sure about the long throw though.

I would agree but he still is our biggest assists contributor and has the ability. Only way we could let him leave would be if we had a proven winger in the bag, otherwise we could have trouble scoring goals, after not replacing bentley last summer.

the way things are going at the moment we could end up doing a lot of business right up until deadline day. sam clearly wants to change the team as much as possible to his liking and i think almost anyone could leave the club if that allowed sam to build the team to suit him.

for me there`s question marks over the futures of-

stephen reid(fulham interest likely)

morten gamst pederson(no new deal, and rumoured interest)

david dunn(no new deal)

benni mccarthy(foreign interest)

chris samba(man city)

stephen warnock(aston villa, spurs sniffing)

i think any of those players could leave before or even on deadline day.

as i`ve stated elsewhere, i think he`d join as a benni replacement in the event of his departure abroad. rovers would ask around 6m for benni and that would net benjani.

id much prefer mcarthy to benjani..benjani is a donkey who had one half good season..id even say id prefer gallagher to him..

As poor as he has been (by his standards) selling Pedersen for cheap/ without a replacement would be daft. Like modes says, he is still our top assister and also his throws and free-kicks can be dangerous. He also does alot of tracking back to help Warnock.

if sam has smelt that his attitude stinks during pre season he`ll be out the door. we`ll have to see on that one.

the pederson of the last 3 seasons won`t take much replacing. i can honestly say, offensively, i`d pose more of a threat on crosses and free kicks. i`ve defended him for his tracking back work, but first and foremost he`s a attacking player and he just isn`t a threat at all, in fact he`s detrimental to our attack at times.

3 separate morning papers have both the croatian and benjani joining us next week, with benni out `injured` for the start of the season. read between the lines on that. it`s not a case of sam wanting benni out, it`d be a case of benni wanting to return to europe to play. benjani is a proven premier league goalscorer who`s been a victim of circumstance at city, and sam has very little time to replace benni if he`s dropped a bombshell that he wants away.

i may be totally wrong, but i can`t see us running with 5 first team strikers(assuming kalinic, di santo and benjani join) when we has to cut the wage bill for this season.
