Indeed.

Chelsea flew back to the UK early last week. Both Rovers and Chelsea have played the following weekend. Neither hide nor hair has been seen of Di Santo.

How many players decide - and are allowed to take - a week off at such a crucial stage of the season? He's already fallen a week behind the rest of the lads (and missed vital playing time).

Meanwhile Kalinic showed how easy it is. You just need to trap with a toothbrush and your boots. Given the choice, I'm sure he would have jumped at the chance to play at Hillsborough on Saturday as well.

Rovers must decide at what point sympathy stretches in to indulgence.

Di Santo is hardly enamouring himself with the management or his new team mates with this attitude.

As much as I agree with most of what you have said, we can't really be sure whether its the player who is taking his time or the management at chelsea. It's just becoming a 'funny' situation when you think of the simplicity of the deal in principle. Maybe Nicko can update us on the situation?

Hopefully a sale, another loan would be total madness on our point really.

I thought this Benjani stuff was just lazy journalism but it seems odd that so many have picked up on it.

Any substance to these rumours Nicko - Sam Allardyce is keen to bring Angulo to Ewood Park as a replacement for Roque Santa Cruz who left the club for Manchester City earlier this summer. If signed, he will be paired with Croatian international Nikola Kalinic who is expected to sign for Rovers in the next few days.

Would seem strange, what with Di Santo seemingly on his way, unless of course there have been unfortunate developments on that one. Full article below:

Angulo

Hope not - now 32 - not a prolific score - no sell on.

Super player and is a winger/attacking midfielder and as such his record is pretty good, he almost signed for Arsenal about 4 years back.

My guess is that he'd rather have the likes of Fulham / WHU as an option. BRFC / Burnley / Sland must seem like being sent to Tierra del Fuego after the fat cat pampered excesses of Chelsea FC.

Di Santo would have been here some time ago if this deal were really going to happen.

Hope I'm wrong but it's fairly clear the player is not coming.

Hasnt this all been explained???

Di Santo arrived back in the Uk late last week and was given the weekend off before meeting up with us...... this has been arranged for a while, Nicko has said as much.

Why are so many people all of a sudden now saying that the deal looks to be off, when he was never expected to arrive over the weekend anyway

anyway, please to god say we're not getting Benjani, Id take Benni over him anyday, perhaps even Roberts.

Was that not a week ago or is it just me being slow?

I'm sure he was meant to join up with us last monday, one of us has our dates all mixed up...

Wasnt last tuesday when Ancelotti was going to say whether Di Santo was coming or not? and then gave the green light? I think today was always going to be the day that Di Santo was supposed to arrive. If he doesnt arrive in the next 24 hours then thats a different issue.

'D-Day' was originally 28th July. But we brush past that now. But I'll stick my neck out and say if he isn't here in four weeks, he won't be coming at all.

Perhaps somebody else can confirm the situation?

I see we have been linked to City reject Benjani for £5 million. I'm sorry but if Di Santo doesn't come then Benjani is not the answer. £5 million for a not very prolific scorer who is 30 years old and there are questions about the long term condition of his knees.

This transfer would be right up there with the Davies transfer for me, a transfer that would be awful and don't want to see happen.

Wonder if Wenger would be willing to loan Wilshire out to get a bit of experience?

If we get Di Santo today then thats our quota of loan players from prem clubs isnt it?! he is a talent, but he would benefit from a year in the championship.

It has been the trend with rovers for a while, a good set piece taker comes in and within about 2 months they can't take corners anymore. I don't know how many corners we scored from last year but it won't have been enough to boost him up that much. His assists have come from his crosses, and god knows how because they have been awful as well.

I'm not saying we shouldn't replace him, all I am saying is that we need a good player lined up otherwise goals will be hard to come by, unless our right winger starts creating.

I agree modes - Remember when he first came in and his corners used to catch the keeper out at the near post - whats happened to them!?

Super player and is a winger/attacking midfielder and as such his record is pretty good, he almost signed for Arsenal about 4 years back.

There's the key thing. Like the other poster said - at 32, id prefer us to look at someone younger too!

SSN - Bent having a medical at Sunderland

10.23 Blackburn Rovers have raided Swedish club Malmo for two of their brightest teenage talents with strikers Besnik Rustermaj, 16, and Flilip Pivkovski, 15, agreeing terms at Ewood Park.

Interesting? My guess is the trialist is probably a striker who has played in England. Don't know who though

Benjani's agent is Willie Mckay is it not, so I would guess nicko will be pretty well informed on this one.

Personally I can't see it. We would have to ship one of the strikers out, which would leave us with only one striker having played for us last season, to much of a risk, with all of the other options untried, Benjani was decent at Pompey but was hardly consistent at City, can see him back at Pompey.

Mirror story re Gallagher says Derby want him on a loan.

Wey hey...we have a reader...

Yes, Derby want him on loan. Interesting to see how that one runs.

Sheff U signed Mark Bunn. [Think that is 45, but the Blue Max committee have been called in].

Have we got an assistant manager yet? What about Andre Bergdolmo?

The reason I say this name is….

http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetai...3~34308,00.html

Very odd. Similar playing about with numbers in the URL also brings up names of Dan Thomassen and Janne Saarinen.

Before anyone asks, I was seeing if Di Santo had a profile that was hidden.

OK I am the one saying the reaction on here is odd.

We are told Di Santo is on his way and may even be in the building already. HE IS ON A LOAN, the duration of which is assumed to be a season but might be less.

Press reports that Derby are in for Gallagher.

Both these are good reasons why we would pragmatically look at an "off the radar" striker who happened to be available for a trial. At the very least Di Santo will need replacing sometime.

I think Nicko saying nothing about Benjani suggests that this is a non-story in all probability. I sense a mid-afternoon denial in the LT coming sometime very soon.

This is from the Malmo website:

Two young attack leaves MFF's academy for Blackburn

Now it is clear that the two attack Besnik Rustemaj (born 1993) and Filip Pivkovski (born 1994) leaves the MFF and move to Blackburn. The clubs are in agreement and it remains only a part of paper work before everything is perfectly clear.

The two attacks are trained in MFFs Academy and feel well prepared for the new challenge. We will follow their progress and wish them every success in his career.
