Not wanting to worry people, but i sat in JW Upped tonight and saw Roy Aitken and a few other people leave after about 65 mins.

Obviously not happy about Warnock not featuring, or was he ?

Just past the hour mark Rovers brought on Ryan Nelsen for Zurab Khizanishvili, Junior Hoilett for the impressive Franco Di Santo and Aaron Doran for Keith Andrews...

Zurab to Big Club? <_<

This is a little match report from this weeks game V PNE wher he also stood out............

Hibs 1 - 3 Preston NE: Zemmama has spark that can ignite Hibs

THE facts of the match are that Hibs lost, they conceded three goals and got one back late on courtesy of an own goal. But at this stage of the year it's still all about reading between the lines. The focus is on performance and addressing any ugliness that rears its head before the season really gets underway. It is also a time for clubs and players to offer a sample of the wares the fans can expect in the months ahead.

For Hibs fans it is an exciting prospect. The team as a whole are trying to play the passing brand of football the supporters have craved but that remains a work in progress, which doesn't matter too much when they have someone like Merouane Zemmama

with the kind of mastery which can easily distract in the meantime.

Time and again he left Preston players spinning or tackling fresh air, and his ability to find open space and create something from nothing with his first touch led to applause punctuating the end of his contributions like a smiley emoticon at the end of a text sentence.

"He is somebody who can drop a shoulder and beat a man, or three or four and slip it to the side," said midfielder John Rankin, who was deployed at the heart of a midfield three to allow both Zemmama and Derek Riordan to get up front in support of Colin Nish. "He has all the ability to go on to a higher level. That first-half performance alone from him was definitely exciting and it got the crowd on their feet and we maybe lacked that a wee bit last season."

After Impressing at Ewood tonight as well Think the Moroccan magician Merouane Zemmama could well be ideal for our lack of creativity in midfeild.......He is just waiting to be picked up and hope Big Sam follows him up............

I wonder what that part of my post meant?! :wstu:

Nice try mate, had Roberts have bagged a couple of goals tonight you'd have been trying to justify that valuation in typically outragious fashion.

Also, that sentence, followed by that smiley; Genius.

I find it absolutely amazing that some people would be in favour of selling Samba. He is our most important player by far and we've seen already this summer that if we sell someone, we can't or won't replace them like for like with proven Premiership quality because we can't or won't pay the going rate.

I could understand it in a way if the Board/owners felt an offer of 25m + was too good to turn down, nevertheless it would still severely affect our chances of avoiding the drop if he was sold. Ideally, given his value to the side, we would want about 30m for him.

Talk of taking 10m for him is quite insane imo. Wouldn't even consider give an offer of less than 20m a second thought either.

Hopefully Sam will have far more sense than to sell at any price.

he impressed me in tonights game, but he`s been at hibs a while now and i`ve never heard his name before. a sometimes hot and in the main cold type i`d suggest.

Was just starting to settle in at Hibs in 2007 and also won a cup with them, but due to immigration laws had to be loaned out last year, much to the disappointment of the Hibs fans. He is widely viewed as there best player, obviously after the first-half performance tonight. They really are excited to have him back this year.

25 year old Morrocan international, probably available for 3m I would guess. Exacatly the type of midfielder we need. I wonder if BS was impressed.

He was definatley the best player on the pitch last night. His set pieces were slightly woeful, but his ability and eye for a pass were undoubted. He looked a very good footballer witha good footballing brain.

Media reports suggest that David Nugent will be sold off by Portsmouth at a knock-down price. He would be a tremendous buy for any Premier League club with a manager capable of reviving his career. How about us? Sell McCarthy for 5m to some Euro club, buy a young England international desperate to save his career and pocket significant change to help us buy a mid-fielder.

So why would we pay £4m for him then? RSC - 3.5m, Benni £2.5m - Nugent £4m?? :o

I don't remember mentioning any figure but he's cheap for a striker at todays prices. Why would you compare prices we paid for Benni and Santa Cruz in the past with what portsmouth might be asking today?
