I don't really have an opinion as i haven't seen too much of him, but I was under the impression that we are not getting him into be physical or quick. He is supposed to do the Tugay/Carrick/Mikel thing - move the ball around, find a pass.

Unless you have absolutely exceptional talent, like Tugay, you need to be able to compete physically, as both Carrick and Mikel do. Rothen isn't Tugay and he isn't Carrick or Mikel either. He's a bad version of MGP.

Oh and PSG do have a central midfielder who would do exactly what we are looking for, his name is Sessegnon. I've mentioned on him a few times over the last year or so, but he would be a brilliant signing. Not that it will happen.

I get the impression that if we signed Rothen it would fall into the category of a favour for a favour with no benefit whatsoever to the fans and the team of Blackburn Rovers in winning football games.

I beg to differ, but you'll have to look back a few pages and find the terms of the bet to see how much. I wish Sir Alan was around to confirm that Eddie's favorite player is actually coming to Brockhall this weekend. This is a hint to the other journalists who use this board: Get cracking!

Worrying words re: Samba from Sam in the LT today. He apparently rang 'arry to ask "are you buying him?"

Not tell him "**** off Harry he's not for sale!"

Just don't know what's happening to our club. If we're not relegated this season we will be next unless we attract new owners.

Sam has been quoted saying; "As far as I am concerned there has been no contact with Tottenham - and I know that as I spoke to Harry Redknapp."

Nothing wrong in that. It's the media linking Spuds with every Tom Dick and Harry again. They love unsettling players at clubs like ours.

Not the Barton talk again. The guy is talented yes, but il say it again he is trouble waiting to happen. Besides we have Andrews, so no need for Barton. ;)

Those that didnt feature last night, will play on saturday (if they are fit). Most of those that did play - wont play on saturday.

Warnock, Diouf, Benni, Emerton, Reid, Dunn, Grella, doran - any more that were missing?

hes english so he will probably be out of our price range

From Sky Sports:

13.57 Reading boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed midfielder James Harper has held talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers over a potential move.

He's not the creative man that we're after, but if we didn't have the crock list that we have with similar players on it then he would perhaps have been a good buy. A decent box to box midfielder

sorry messed up the qoute

McCarthy was limping before last nights game.

He arrived with Grella and Reid, they both looked fitter than he did.

Are you related to this Rothen bloke, by any chance? You seem to be an unusually big fan of his.

Not that I know of. I think this guy has the goods, period. I don't car what the Parisians think of him..........and Eddie seems to be an unusually big critic of his.

Looks like we got good money for Santa Cruz, he is OUT of the opening game of the season. He is OUT until September

What a shame... fitting chant for 1st game of season... 'thank you very much for £18million' to the tune of the cadbury's roses song.

Heard Nathan Ellington has impressed in the early days of training............Most likly Sam will go for him if Gally goes.......Hes on trial at the moment with a view for a season long loan with a view to a permanant deal after a year................Ideal might give Roberts a new life.....................He does look good .....can play with both feet.........if Big Sam can get him to rediscover is old days then we are on to a winner.................hears Hoping...........

I can see some simple ones if we're winning: 'Roque, what's the score?' and 'Champions League, ur havin a laff!'...we'll be winning 1-0, sing those, then lose 2-1 with only added time to go :P

Anyone know anything about this guy: Peter Utaka - my mate from belgium is gobsmacked he isnt in the premier league. In his words - a jason roberts who can finish!

Isn't he related to John at Pomey?
