47er Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Really lucky. Realistically then, and without luck, what do you think we'd get now - £50,000? Less? Can you believe Sam has so much faith in him as well? What was he doing giving him a new contract instead of selling him to Fulham? Surely it must make you question Sam's judgement as a manger when he makes such an abasolutely momumental mistake as that. It makes you wonder if he has a clue what he's doing. Out of interest, do you rate Sam as a manager? Please don't start this rubbish again. When you are not discussing Andrews you are quite sensble. When you are you're quite bonkers.

Out of interest, do you rate Sam as a manager? ok so if Andrews had gone who would play on the center ...... The axe - gone Reid - always injured dunn - too Many pies never fit grella - plays a third of a season due to injury we would be left with n'zonzi who is in experienced in the EPL and yes I understand we have players that take up that CM role but then we have insufficient cover for them !! Also IMO an andrews was a very steady and hard working player last season .. He scored 4 goals some of which were vital and I don't remeber Any other CM getting more than that Rant over
Kelbo Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Where is the link which says Rothen is coming to Brockhall?? Is this a trial or test/medical and signing??? I also note Mendes was dictating play in midfield for Rangers against City the opther night!!
Amo Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 At the risk of pseudo-modding, sparking the Andrews debate for the 1100th time is damn pointless as it doesn't pertain to the matter at hand.
den Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Where is the link which says Rothen is coming to Brockhall?? Is this a trial or test/medical and signing??? I also note Mendes was dictating play in midfield for Rangers against City the opther night!! It was in L'Equipe yesterday. There's another update on it this morning Here. Translates as: Rothen will visit Blackburn The Paris-SG agreed to go discover Jérôme Rothen facilities Blackburn Rovers. A visit was planned this weekend but the middle left, under contract until 2011 with the club from the capital, will eventually in England on Monday. Sunday, he will play with the reserves of the PSG in CFA against the B team of Le Mans.
67splitscreen Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 So a reserve game takes priority over a possible transfer.?????? Doesn't sound right to me.
joey_big_nose Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 So a reserve game takes priority over a possible transfer.?????? Doesn't sound right to me. PSG are a bit peed off we aren't willing to pay for him, so I guess they are playing hardball about it to try and get us to part with some cash.
Hughesy Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Maybe we advised him to play so he could boost his fitness??
Jonnolad Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Yes I do rate him as a manager, I dont rate Andrews, I believe the contract thing was linked to selling him if I am honest!! A premiership midfielder should have the following attributes, good first touch, passing ability and range, ability to tackle, some pace and a footballing brain!! Could you pick three of those and apply them to Andrews? Then why didn't Sam bite Fulham's hand off for 2 million? If, as you claim, Andrews doesn't have a good first touch, or passing ability and range, or an ability to tackle, or some pace and a footballing brain then why didn't Sam sell at the first oppurtunity? In fact if he's so bad why does Sam put so much public faith in him by continually playing him and giving him a new contract? Surely that would just reflect badly on Sam's ability as a manager. The "contract thing was linked to selling him" - how so - any chance of an elaboration on that one? We gave him a new contract because we were planning to sell him? Of course that makes perfect sense. The fact of the matter is, whether you like it or not, Sam Allardyce clearly rates Keith Andrews - there's nothing more in fact he could do to publically show this - he continually plays him, he gives him a new contract and he comes out and says that he rates him. Doesn't it strike you as odd that Sam has hardly been busting a gut to try out alternatives to Andrews in the pre-season games? If Andrews was as bad as you say, and Allardyce is as good a manager as you think, then surely he would have been seriously trying out alternatives (any alternative) than having to play someone as bad as Andrews. Sam had all last season to know how bad Andrews was - why would he therefore feature so highly pre-season unless he actually rated him? You say you rate Allardyce as a manager, but presumably you think he is bang wrong when it comes to Andrews - surely that must strike you as very very odd. Does it ever cross your mind, ever, that you may actually be wrong on Andrews?
sparky12 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Have you watched him pre season Jonno? did you watch him all last season den ??
Jonnolad Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Jonno, did you actually watch the Hibs game? If so, how did you think he played? I have 2 kids under 3 and another one is due in a month - understandably my wife likes me to help out as much as possible when I'm not at work. I get to go to every competitive home game for us though, and any away games which are reasonably close - my wife usually (very kindly) drops me off and picks me up in fact so I can have a drink. Pre-season friendlies are out at the minute. So to answer your question - no I didn't go to the Hibs game. I'm guessing you didn't think Andrews played well in it though - did it confirm everything you've previously said about Andrews? It makes you wonder how a totally unqualified person like yourself could have spotted something all along that our supremely qualified manager completely missed - it's just really really weird isn't it!

So no, you didn't watch him. Kelbo simply said "After watching Andrews performances in pre season we will be lucky to sell him for £100,000" and you took him to task, but you hadn't seen the games he was talking about. hint... I know mum. The mods could possibly move these posts to that thread?
S15 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Ah we're back onto Andrews. What a crap midfielder, should have sold him, Allardyce out etc etc... Are we back onto Beckham tomo?

I was posting tongue in cheek to point out the ridiculous nature of some people's opinion of him.
Will Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I have 2 kids under 3 and another one is due in a month That's no excuse

67splitscreen Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Maybe we advised him to play so he could boost his fitness?? If we are genuinely interested i doubt we want to risk an injury.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 So where has Nicko gone? At the moment it's just aimless speculation.
47er Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Do you like typing for no good reason Jonno? He does! What's more he types the same thing over and over again. Doesn't worry about what thread its in either. This bloke is the sort to have with you in the trenches, where come to think of it every day was pretty much the same.
thenodrog Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 So where has Nicko gone? At the moment it's just aimless speculation. Whereas when he's around we can usually dispense with the word 'aimless'. As for your question he has excused himself without going into detail.
67splitscreen Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I'd prefer the quite ones thanks........all talk no action...
