Rothen On his Way!

The PSG Midfieder is set to arrive on Monday until wednesday............No idea why for 2 days..........Played in a researve game today............I think Rovers need a Yebda kind of a player then a Rothen Type.......But at least its a Midfielder........

Rovers also had scouts tonight at the Lens-Bordeux game....no idea who they were watching unless its the Morroccan as a "Just in case".....for the hearing on Monday.......

I just don't think Rothen is what we need. Got to have trust in Sam's judgement though - would like to know the thinking behind it.

i think that`s exactly what they were doing. i detect rovers aren`t entirely confident that this work permit will be given, and if so they`ll have to move fast and pay big to secure a differant player. i think a lot hinges on this work permit, if it goes through there`ll be extra money available to strengthen the midfield, but if not, it`s likely all our funds will have to be spent on a striker(who`ll cost a lot more than kalinic).

Hmmm. I am not sure Chamankh is going to sign for us though as he knows Arsenal are interested. That would be a really tough one to pull off.

Any of our French based boarders know of this guy?

Nantes midfielder Aurelien Capoue. According to the link he is due in on Tuesday and will be signing on a loan til the end of the season. Described as "Very good dribbler with technical ability and good speed"

We could do better, but alas its a midfielder. A few more will have to go on loan, if Rothen and Capoue comes in. Il be delighted with Chamakh, if Kalinic doesnt get a work permit

Hmm, can play left back and left wing.... wonder if Pedersen or Warnock are being lined up to be sold? Pre season suggests that Sam has his doubts about Pedersen.

Lol. Its realy bad the finances at Ewood hahaha one of Warnock or Pedersen might be on their way. If we bring Rothen and Capoue in, then the squad becomes too big again. Rothen to play left winger, with Capoue and Nzonzi in central midfield and Dioufy down the right. Chamakh/ Kalinic and Benni up front.

We need Pedersen if only for his (albeit intermittent) quality from set pieces. I can't see Allardyce getting rid of our best free kick taker, especially given the emphasis his teams put on them.

Aurelien Capoue is a 27-year-old Guadeloupean international (4 caps) who was relegated to Lique 2 with Nantes last season. Is this reallly the level we're at now? Surely that story is rubbish.

Sam on Rothen

“Jerome Rothen is of an interest to us but he is a left sider and I don’t feel as though we need strengthening in the wide positions.

“Left and right we are pretty strong. Brett is on his way back, we have Dioufy, Elrio, Morten, young Junior who looks bright.

“From that point of view I don’t think that is priority.”

LET

Is Capoue definitely a left-midfielder?

EDIT: Sorry if this looks like I am asking Nicko a question as soon as he came back - I was already typing it before he posted

11 o'clocker back tonight...sounds like you are ahead of most of the game anyway... ;)

Cheers for the kind words, by the way. Means a lot.

Good to see you back, my condolences to you and your family, never a easy time.
