I agree, but maybe so does M O'N.

Means a lot. welcome back Mr N ! hope all is well, and you manage to get a heads up on the work permit for the 11 o`clocker ! i have just reaad back a few pages or so, and condoloncies for the loss Nicko and hope things return to something near normal in the not too distant future for you and the family.

And yet both of those players played a sufficient part in two european finishes...and there was a profit made on Knight...silly MON.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Nickos 11 O'Clocker won't be about the Kalinic thing I guess because the hearing is today so I expect we'd officially unveil him at some point this afternoon if it has gone through. Before 11 O'Clock anyway. And welcome back Alan.

EDIT: Don't worry, saw it in the LT, hopefully it's accurate and it is today, I guess we'll know one way or another by late afternoon, early evening.
rovers1995 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Is the hearing definitely today? Where abouts did you hear that? Big Sam said it was today in the telegraph
RoverRich Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Good to see you back Nicko. Condolences to you and your family. Hopefully we get the Kalinic deal wrapped up either today or tomorrow as surely there should be no problem with the work permit. Still hoping for a quality midfielder to come in but from the sounds of things, I don't think this Capoue is who we need. I wouldn't mind Rothen but I think Yebda sounds the best of those who we have been linked with recently but whether there is actually anything in that remains to be seen.
hi-jaq Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 What happened to the link with that Ibricic from Split... he looked quality!!!
Jackson Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sam on Rothen “Jerome Rothen is of an interest to us but he is a left sider and I don’t feel as though we need strengthening in the wide positions. LET Sounds like he'll take him if he can ship another left-sided midfielder out...
Torgeir Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sounds like he'll take him if he can ship another left-sided midfielder out... Sounds like he isn't done shopping yet too, and that's a good thing.
hollowsr Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Has anyone else seen on the bottom of Sky Sports news that "sources" say Rovers are one of 3 teams after Zenden, think one other was Stoke but didn't see the final team! Please let this be the 3 club rule he's been past it for a few years now! Just seen it again it is us, Portsmouth and Hull! I think it may be 3 club rule, possibly more coming up about it soon. Also welcome back Nicko, sorry to hear about the bad news! Best Wishes
texasrover Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 with the signing of kalinic now complete, this should open up the door to looking at other midfield targets.
The Rover of Finland Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 with the signing of kalinic now complete, this should open up the door to looking at other midfield targets. Rothen is in town..or maybe Nick knows some Croatian talents. We need one good midfielder and then it´s ready.
rovers1995 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I'd like us to make a cheeky bid for Kranjcar, he's told Portsmouth that he will leave for nothing at the end of this coming season. Surely, they'd rather money for him. Him and Kalinic may help each other settle in.

Ewood and I Would Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 with the signing of kalinic now complete, this should open up the door to looking at other midfield targets. Let's wait until he's officially announced as a Rovers player shall we? Being the eternal pessimist it wouldn't suprise me if he took the work permit and ran off to Pompey with it

Also welcome back Nicko, sorry to hear about the bad news! Best Wishes I saw that as well, bizarre! Isn't Zenden like Rothen, a wide rather than central midfield player? I would say we're already overloaded with (arguably mediocre) wide players, we need a really top class central midfielder who can get hold of the game by the scruff of the neck.
Al Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Let's wait until he's officially announced as a Rovers player shall we? Being the eternal pessimist it wouldn't suprise me if he took the work permit and ran off to Pompey with it Christ you are a pessimist, but I believe the work permit is club specific which is why you have to re-apply if you are transferred.
