1864roverite Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Kranjcar says he won't sign a new contract at Pompey and will move for free in the summer... love to get him at Rovers, but I suspect if he moves for free he'll end up somewhere bigger and better than little old Ewood. Unless Pompey can be persuaded to cash in early. IF the club do go into administration, can their players not move on under freedom of contract ? I am sure that something like that comes into play after 30 days or so.

Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I'm assuming that if the players are under contract then they can't just leave if they are getting paid etc. I suppose once the club says they can't pay you and the club don't have insurance to play then that's when I can imagine there is a breach of contract and they can leave.
spencey7 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Zenden considering a contract from us after rejecting Zenden? Zuh? I don't think Zenden would be a bad signing at all, he's experienced, played centre-midfield with Boro and Liverpool, and knows how to pass a football.
bigbrandjohn Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Now all we need is someone to drop the ball in with pinpoint accuracy to the big boys and cut inside and take a pop from 25 yards. Did I hear anyone say Bentley on a years loan to get first team football

Insurance probably does come into play but if thy dont pay wages, then the club are in breech of contract and the player has been dismissed!!
Hughesy Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Zenden considering a contract from us after rejecting Zenden? Sorry I meant after rejecting Marseille. What do people reckon to him for some creative ability??
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sorry I meant after rejecting Marseille. What do people reckon to him for some creative ability?? He has as much creativity as Alan Shearer's Newcastle tactics last season
brfc_jonesy Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I think Zenden is a good player. I think most people knock him on here because he's getting on a bit and isn't a multi million pound transfer. I think he'd be worth a punt.

Did I hear anyone say Bentley on a years loan to get first team football Di Santo's filling our quota of PL loans - atleast until Jan.
67splitscreen Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 They should have closed the lid on him (Zenden)
LeChuck Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Zenden on a free looks far better business to me than paying money for Rothen, who is only a year younger anyway. At 32 he shouldn't be past it - if he's interested in a move here we'd be daft not to have a look.
Iceman Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sorry I meant after rejecting Marseille. What do people reckon to him for some creative ability?? Is Zenden not turning 49 this year?

I'd rather have Rothen in to be honest but don't see either strengthening our first XI.
rovertheworld Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Nice to have you back nicko, sorry to hear about your loss Regarding the Zenden thing, what dosen't make sense is that just today sam denied any interest in Jerome Rothen who is exactly the same type of player as Bolo Zenden i.e. play in the same position. So personally if Rothen is a non goer then the same can be said about Mr Zenden
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Is Zenden not turning 49 this year? His knees must be after that celebration
67splitscreen Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 His knees must be after that celebration What about the other players meat and two veg, it brought tears to my eyes. Ouch!
Hi Mack Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I'd love Sam to inquire about the Villa pair in Sidwell and NRC! Obviously not to buy both but i think they could be what where missing a bit of bite with decent passing ability! Not sure NRC is happy at Right back and Sidwell cant get a game! Again folks its my opinion im not right or wrong just what i see!
John Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 If Tugay did not have 'the legs' then Zenden certainly does not have the legs to play in our midfield.
rovertheworld Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Who was it that said Rothen was going to come in today and sign on wednesday or sommat like that
they_think_its_all_rover Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Can anyone remember what reason Nicko gave for Kamel Ghilas not joining Rovers? Joining Hull City according to SSN.
S15 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sam gave him the hump at the last minute. No explination, so our heads remain in the sand I guess.
Hi Mack Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Can anyone remember what reason Nicko gave for Kamel Ghilas not joining Rovers? Joining Hull City according to SSN. Rovers say he werent fit......Celta say we were moving the goal posts on the price!
Torgeir Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Hull getting Jozy Altidore too on a season long loan. Good deal. Hope the 11 O'clocker involves a Tugay replacement...
Hi Mack Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Hull getting Jozy Altidore too on a season long loan. Good deal. Hope the 11 O'clocker involves a Tugay replacement... Or..................A Tugay Comeback!
Steve Moss Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Just heard on SSN that Rovers are one of 3 clubs chasing Bolo Zenden... Is this a case of Nicko's 3 club alert? Bloody hope so Why? He's older (32) but still seems to score goals and looks like he has some juice left in him.
