So probably Roman Bednar then ? :D

Well losing that many goals from any team would be tough, though they now have some cash to go out and replace him.

Is the new manager really Niko's Dad or is it just a coincidence that he shares the same surname ?

Same surname but no relation

Same surname but no relation

Thats like Burnley fans but the other way around... All related but with diffrent surnames!!!

I have to say, I'm getting quite excited about the amount of activity around us over the last day or two... Kind of worried that we are going to lose a few players though... I hope its not any of our main lads, Stevie Warnock, Chris Samba, Ryan Nelsen e.t.c

Just seen Hughesy's excellent research last night - the tale about the meal at the restaurant - and that suggests to me that things are looking good.

The guy would get the VIP treatment on Monday which shows he is a cut-above the average 'trialist,' so hopefully he has just gone off on personal business today.

Fingers crossed on this one. Love to see him on a regular basis up this way.

And here's the proof that Sam was with him last night so you dont think I was making it up!!

Friday noon will be the deadline for rovers to bring in any new additions by then, to make them available for Saturdays game

I was just thinking about that RTW. City on Saturday and with Dunn, Reid & Grella out injured we've still got no central midfield! After seeing them outplayed by Leeds I'm not overly thrilled at the prospect of N'Zonzi & Andrews as our central midfield - we desperately need at least one addition in the next day & a bit. So no pressure there then Sam...!

PS - Salgado on a free would be a great signing. Frees up Emerton to play right wing or even central midfield (I think that's known as 'Bert Mk 3' on here isnt it?!) - might be more realistic than bringing in another central midfielder at this stage..

Sky Sports have a few updates with players we were linked with before...

15.47 Former Liverpool and Chelsea winger Boudewijn Zenden has confirmed he is talks with several Premier League clubs.

15.12 Sky sources understand that Celta Vigo forward Kamel Ghilas has agreed personal terms with Hull City ahead of his proposed move to the KC Stadium.

14.35 Australia international Lucas Neill is ready to decide where he will be playing next season, with West Ham, Manchester City and Sunderland all linked with his services.

14.14 Cameroon midfielder Modeste M'Bami is reportedly now training with Wolves as he looks for a new club. He has already trained with Portsmouth during pre-season and has been linked with Bolton.

11.32 Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has rejected reports claiming that Arsenal have made an increased bid for Marouane Chamakh.

11.16 Racing Santander have agreed a deal to sign former Liverpool winger Luis Garcia from Atletico Madrid.

Ha no it's at night, I spotted that too. He was in a big black Jag too so it wasn't him driving from brockhall earlier.

Chris do you know if Salgado is still around? I know Nicko said he left, but just wondering if Rigters is cleaning Salgado's boots for the City game.

i can't recall but does zenden have a good injury record, he can play in the middle and has the required ability not to immediately waste posession or the lack of ability to simply let the ball bounce off him . So on that basis would walk into our midfield, I've already got the picture in my head of quite a tidy starting 11 with zenden in the middle.................hope there is some truth in this one.
