EwoodGlory Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Little update... SALGADO...still think this one is ok...his absence from the training ground doesn't worry me too much...heard a strange line he might have been seeing a relative rather than another club...that smile says a lot to me...great pic...and it's not me in the background...not aged that much surely? Not sure what has been said today, only just back in from work, so this might have already been posted? Beckham, Owen and Margate - three reasons why Salgado loves England

thenodrog Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 players like rothen and capoue, cant demand unreasonable high wages. Maybe not but they will simply go to the club that will offer them the highest wages. They won't really care who it is.
briggsy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Was in Brockhall today and saw none other than Dietmar Hamann being driven out of the training ground. Another possible signing?
herbergeehh Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 He probably came, and then they drove him home. Good call!

Beckham, Owen and Margate - three reasons why Salgado loves England Bloomin' 'eck mate... that article was posted in 2004.. I think he's outgrown his bucket and spade by now
tcj_jones Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Unusual car though for a executive travel and a chauffeur to be driving, thought more like a Mercedes or 7 series. Could be just me looking for something that's not there. Was in Brockhall today and saw none other than Dietmar Hamann being driven out of the training ground. Another possible signing? Maybe Hamann was the chauffeur?
LeChuck Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Me for one. Fabio Capello is obviously another.

You are reading too much into it Al. We really need to know who is taking it. I bet there's a 6ft tall, slim attractive blonde with big tits, short skirt and a plunging neckline behind that camera.
Steve Moss Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Robert Lewandowski? Very good prospect... An excellent choice. Get rid of Benni, Roberts and Gally to pay for him, if need be. With all the quality, young and old, we've been attached to I'm on cloud 9. On the other hand, other than Kalinic (2 thumbs up) we actually haven't signed any of them.

ROTHEN...been and gone, waiting for the offer...Real Mallorca in too, but he wants to come here. CAPOUE...been in and gone too, a bit strange...he thought he was signing on loan. 11 O'CLOCKER...will have a newsy item...and the Mirror won't be online until midnight, so it's a sneak peak for you. Nicko, do you reckon the big 4 are finished in the transfer market for this window. I can't believe the lack of activity from them. I know this isn't Rovers related, but Nicko doesn't seem to post in the other premier league happenings thread.

Either that or they are skint.
Gambit217 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Really suprised Arsenal havent been in for anyone since Vermahlen. Nicko-I know it's not guna happen now but do you know if we were ever really in for Cardozo?
philipl Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Best guess for what its worth: Man U skint Arsenal being very careful as they needed that cash they got from City but might yet pull a rabbit out of the hat Liverpool will probably get Turner and might get ANO Chelsea officially have £40m budget unspent but might go higher if the right opportunities come along. Wannabes: City will buy one if not two central defenders Spurs dependant on getting ridiculous prices for rejects- if there are more Sevilles willing to pay £9m for Zokora-type players out there, 'Arry would go on a massive splurge. Hopefully, the rest of the football world are not so stupid. Villa- anybody's guess at this stage Everton- manning the barricades Rovers- well I can dream....
1864roverite Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I think if anything, last season emphasised the gap between The big 4 and the rest. It was massive if we look at ability wise and it is just as big a gap now. All of the other clubs have not suddenly become world beaters overnight, not even City with their massive outlay, and on that basis the big 4 may well not feel the need to splash out so much as to improve their squads is going to means big bucks being spent. I see Arsenal spending money, as well as Man U. Liverpool may enter the market but if they do it will be lastminute.com signings. Chelsea have already shown they are the team to beat and dont need to spend money right now. City may feel like they are going to crash the top 4 but for me, they are nowhere yet good enough and will lose too many points because manchester City has just turned into Mercenary City.

How about Chelsea : Ribery Villa : Bentley at the last minute Tottenham : obsessed with getting the last penny on any deal so as usual will be panicked into last minute deals which may evade them, apart from Bentley who they want rid of.

modes98 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Stick on topic guys. Blue n White: There will be a Manchester Citeh preview thread shortly so any match related questions can be asked there.
SYRovers Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The Times Online are reporting we have rejected a bid in the region of 4m for Stevie Warnock, and say we are holding out for 7.5m.. Could be what Nicko meant when he said that something would put the plethora of potential new arrivals in to sharp focus??
nicko Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Nickos 11 o clocker....waiting with patience Rewarded...early. WARNOCK...Aston Villa have finally made an offer...a very low £4 million...there is a lot of unhappiness about this as it's way too small and badly timed...but I have a hunch we have not heard the last of it...this one will come down to money...if Villa go high it could happen...if not he stays. I heard this from a top source today and I have to say a PMer is also completely aware of the background...will let the poster tell you more if he wishes...if not his secret is safe with me. SIGNINGS...get a feeling today that a few things have gone on hold until the Warnock issue is resolved...deals for Rothen, Capoue and even Salgado may depend on more money being raised...although Salgado should happen if he is not being greedy. I still say that pic says a lot...look at Sam's face too...all proud of himself that he has found another golden oldie...hoping this one happens, like the feel of it. No more news from Rovers - but Cattermole and Sunderland is very close in other news. Having an early one. Puffed.
Danish Villan Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The Times Online are reporting we have rejected a bid in the region of 4m for Stevie Warnock, and say we are holding out for 7.5m.. Do you have any info on this Nicko? I know this has been talked about, but you have said that there was nothing concrete - is it true Villa have bid? Sorry just saw your 11.00 :-) cheers.

Fair idea where that story in the Times is from too...think this one has to be watched.
