Tom 1 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 If O'Neill was willing to pay 6m for L.Young then he will surely go back in with higher money for Warnock. Sounds like testing the water, obviously was never gonna be accepted but then the other side of it is Warnock now knows Villa are officially interested.

brfc_jonesy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Cheers Nicko, Ain't happy about Warnock being bid for at all. Do one MON go bid for Bale
Danish Villan Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 How will this go down with you guys? And what will be a fair price?
SYRovers Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Are there any rhumblings as to what kind of money do you think would tempt us Nicko?
American Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Sounds like I am not the only one who heard. Fair idea where that story in the Times is from too...think this one has to be watched. Warnock's agent?
islander200 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Is warnock pushing for a move Nicko?Does sam not see him as part of his future plans?Hope we keep him he always gives 100 percent and he has quality
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 How will this go down with you guys? And what will be a fair price? Honestly? He's worth about 8m, but considering how late it is in the window and we don't need cash I'd be thinking 10-15 easily. Oh and he's English.

Oh and he's English. No offence I think Warnock is quality really rate the guy but i'd be livid if we paid a double figure for him, we won't do either, we need other players and sticking 10m on full backs when Boumas back in a month or two would be dumb on our part.
modes98 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I think it would be a bad move to let Warnock go and replace him with older players. Warnock is a positive influence on the team and unless he throws the toys there is no reason why we can't stand firm on this.

Oh and he's English. I cant see Villa paying more than 7-8 mill - will he rock the boat? I hope this can be done like the brad deal last year - turned out well for both clubs.
FeedtheHarewood Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Maybe we can chuck Shorey in the deal, what do you think of that?
LeChuck Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I absolutely don't want Warnock to go if the money is just to bring in Salgado, Rothen and Capoue. If we had our eye on a quality central midfielder and we needed the money, I could accept that I think. Jacobsen has played left back in his career so could be backup to Givet and Salgado - sounds good enough to me. I wonder how much Cattermole will be going for? He moved at the same time and for the same price as Grella, it'll be a useful yardstick for how badly Ince ###### our money up the wall.

Oh and he's English. I think we have to work in his versatility - as things stand he is likely to start in midfield against City. I would also be worried about Givet at left back as our only option (unless Sam thinks Olson can finally make the step up). Personally I would agree - around £10m - not the best left back in the world - but always gives 100% whichever position he plays in.

Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 How will this go down with you guys? And what will be a fair price? Are there any 'fair' prices? Got a while left on his contract, England cap, club player of year - Zokora worth £8 million, Lescott bids rejected at £20 million. Shall we start the bidding at upwards of £10 million - not a fair price, but currently not a fair market.
DeadlyDirk Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Maybe we can chuck Shorey in the deal, what do you think of that? Behave
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 If Villa bid 9m they may get just him especially as we have Givet now, but even so I think we'd ask for more than that.
Hughesy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 How will this go down with you guys? And what will be a fair price? Reo coker n your £4m bid will do lol!
bob fleming Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 How will this go down with you guys? And what will be a fair price? £12 million (that way we may get £4m to actually spend). Glenn Johnson went for how much? You teling me that he's a better player than Warnock? £4m?!?! Blatant tapping up that is. Cheeky blighters.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Reo coker n your £4m bid will do lol! Reo Coker - and £6 - 8m would do it for me. Not that I don't rate Reo Coker - just that he wasn't a regular for them last season.
Danish Villan Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Reo coker n your £4m bid will do lol! I don't want him to go and I don't think MON wants that. The players we will part with could be Shorey, Harewood or Osborne - maybe Shorey would interest you, not the other two I guess.
rovers1995 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 In the LET today Warny said he is happy here and wants to stay. I will be furious if we sell him 'our best midfield option at the moment,' to replace him with older players that may not settle in the premierleague. He has a fantastic attitude, hard worker, positive influence in the dressing room, vice captain, club player of the year. Why does Sam want to sell him? Chants of Stevie Warnock on Saturday me thinks? I am very, very angry now tonight, and once again will be furious if he is sold.
