Here's one we should consider and ship Gamst out

Martin Petrov has said that he wants to leave Manchester City with Tottenham considering the Bulgaria winger. "I don't see City depending too much on me this year, at least from what I have seen from the pre-season friendlies so far," Petrov said. "No footballer is content with polishing the bench and I am no exception."

Petrov always seemed a bit indifferent to me, brilliant one game shocking the next. A slight improvement on Pedersen I'd say but I doubt he's going cheap.

Warnock was allowed to speak to Villa over a week ago now. There was no illegal 'tap up'.

The reason he hasn't gone yet is either;

- We are holding out for more money

- We are lining up a replacement first

- Big Sam has made him have a change of heart and he now wants to stay.

I'm hoping for the third option, because I don't want him to go. But I think now its just down to money. I heard £6m, but think we should hold out for at least £8m.

All of a sudden our obsession with collecting full backs makes sense, as does Warnocks absence against Hibs.

If there is a classy midfielder lined up, I'm fine, as long as we get close to £10m.

If we have to sell before signing Salgado, as one of the Lancashire papers claim, I wouldn't think there's a cat's chance in hell of us signing Petrov. Would love it, though. Perhaps a cheeky loan offer would do, but I doubt it.

So tired of us constantly being skint and the "sell before buying" policy. It's also frustrating to see that we are linked to one gazillion mediocre wingers, and no decent central midfielders.

Slight improvement? :o

He has pace and whips cross after cross in - he also knows how to take a corner!!

Id be happy to let Stevie go, but it would have to be £10m+. £4m or £6m is just pathetic and Id be very unhappy with it.

For what its worth - As a defensive left back, id say Givet is better, however he offers very little attacking threat - suppose it depends on how solid Sam wants his back 4 and whether he just wants them to concentrate solely on defending or attacking aswell? I also think Olsson has a bright future.

In that time our two biggest sales have been Santa and Bentley (£35m?). I'm not an accounting genius as you can probably tell but even with the £14m left from that, you can easily see how that's taken up with wages (even taking the Sky money into consideration) and the debt reduction. I think philipl can elaborate on that a bit better than myself, but I'm fairly certain we've paid back a large chunk of it - down to £10m or so now I believe?

But where you've been getting the phrase "trousering the money" from today I don't know.

'Trousering money' is a common phrase. Maybe you have not heard it. Now you are including wages with transfer fees and other people are comparing wages as a percentage of sky fees/ turnover. I think that is called double counting.

Explain to me then why the bank are happy with our overdraft until we sell a player and then demand money.

I'm not sure what the overdraft figure is because as a member of the public I can only get accounts that are way out of date but I don't believe it is all that big. I can't prove it but I believe that most of it goes to repay the trust for the £3mil a year that they have 'invested' although I can't prove it.

IF YOU BORROW MONEY FROM SOMEBODY AND DON'T REPAY IT IN FULL WHEN YOU CAN THEN YOU SHOULDN'T REALLY ASK AGAIN SHOULD YOU? IN A PARRALLEL EXISTENCE I BET KILBY AND FLOOD ARE MILKING BURNLEY AS WE SPEAK FOR ALL THEY ARE WORTH, THEY PUT MONEY IN AND I THINK THERE WILL BE NO BETTER TIME TO CLAW IT BACK THAN RIGHT NOW.

btw not shouting just differentiating.

Cant see where Warnock fits into our team, Givet will play left back and he is not good enough for central midfield, maybe £5 million plus Coker?

:wstu::lol: Most ridiculous thing i have heard in a long time. He has to be first on the team sheet.

I also can't believe that so called fans would be happy to see the back of Warnock, our player of the season last season.

One minute fans are demanding quality signings and the next they want to ship out quality players like Warnock!!!

Unbelievable.

It depends on what you want.

Attacking full backs - Warnock wins

Defensive full backs that go on runs - Givet wins

Surely we also want options?

The money is irrelevant..... why would you be "happy" for one of our best players to leave ? It doesn't make sense.

I'd sell Warnock for anything over 8m.

Alvaro Negredo

Thomert

http://www.tribalfootball.com/blackburn-ba...-thomert-262850

the momentuem is building up.

Anybody wanna clarify and bullshit the report?

Where did our $$ come from to bid for Negredo???

This cant be correct. We have just signed Kalinic, and we now have to apparently sell to buy. We dont need another striker, unless Benni or Roberts are sold. Negredo would be awsome, but perhaps this Warnock to Villa might just happen

It depends what comes in, following that sale. A quality midfielder - then yes I would be.

Perhaps a cheeky loan offer would do, but I doubt it.

We can't loan more than one player currently playing in the Premier League at once.

£4 million for Warnock is downright laughable. It's an insult and we should return the favour by bidding £5 million for Ashley Young. I remember ManUtd were bidding for Shearer and we bid £5 million for Cantona. Priceless.

A few words on £££.

Remember there is a difference between cash flow and the numbers for transfers.

I have not seen a definitive break down of HOW City are paying for RSC whilst we know exactly HOW Rovers are paying for Kalinic.

It is possible that City put enough cash down that we can put a deposit down for Negredo as well as meeting the obligations for Kalinic and Givet- the other significant cash signings. On the otherhand, that Negredo report smells of breaking the three club rule.

We also do not know where the game is at on outgoings beyond Gally possibly moving for under £2m to Derby and MoN taking the michael out of us on Warnock. However, Sam and JW will be fully in the picture and might have tasty offers in their pocket for the likes of Benny and MGP both of whom could command decent-ish fees and do well in Europe. More to the point, I do expect Spurs to come in with big offers for Warnock and Samba and I am sure Rovers are aware of this as well. We just have to keep hoping Spuds remain far too greedy in the prices asked for their 20 or so rejects (pretty well the entire squad).

£2m for young Ashley, just to clarify any grey area, would be my approach.

They Would See That We Already Have To Many Wide Players

So We Would Not Be Taken Seriously

And Also It Could Ruin Our Chances Of Getting Shut Of Warnock

I Will Never Forgive Him For Wigan

NEGREDO...somebody in Spain has heard he is leaving and tossed in a few clubs...a non-starter.

THOMERT...interesting, but doubtful...think that story is to rev up the interest of one of the three...probably Wigan.

ROTHEN...talking up the move in France, but the snag will be PSG want a fee...and THAT will be why Sam is talking it down.

SALGADO...no further news...just hoping he is around today...rumours of a one-year deal on offer...but those are just rumours.

WARNOCK...over to you, Martin O'Neill...it would not surprise me if this runs and runs and the player still stays at Rovers.

Petrov indifferent? He is a real matchwinner (or was before his injuries)...something that Morten hasn't been for us for the last 3 seasons. He has the pace and skill to beat defenders, and his delivery is excellent.

Not sure what sort of wages he would be on, but I would imagine that they would be fairly similar to Morten's. Remember we put MGP on a juicy contract a few seasons ago when he was playing well and some of the bigger boys were sniffing around (United, Spurs, etc).
