CrazyIvan Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Plymouth cant afford Gallys wages thanks to Williams and then they expect other people to tidy there mess up..............How many clubs has this guy been on loan to yet they have all sent him back....... Come on, give it a rest. Gally's wages aren't exactly John Williams fault. He was signed by Graeme Souness!

saxo1man30 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 i`d like to see what grella can do first before we consider moving him out, you can`t label him injury prone just because he was unlucky enough to suffer with injuries last season. prior to that, i don`t think they were a problem in his career. reid and dunn CAN leave asap as far as i`m concerned however, after such prolonged troubles, they effectively don`t have a career anymore in the game imo. we are just paying them large sums to hardly ever feature and that won`t change now. as soon as either player puts in the kind of effort that we need as an essential, they will break down again. as soon as they get fit to play this time, DON`T play them and make them available for transfer.
Trickstar Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 There is talk they will sign Sturridge on loan from Chelsea today. Thanks Craigman but surely Sturridge has to be on bigger wages than Gally? Unless Chelsea are going to keep paying him?
nicko Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 nicko, you said that today may be a more intreging day than yesterday was do you think big news will come out of the club today Put it this way, I'm making an awful lot of calls right now...may have some news later on...presser will be interesting.
unluckymorton Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 What the club should be aiming to do before the transfer window is closed. Get Zurab, Gally and Rigters off the books. Sign a CB (free Civelli?), Rothen and a CM on loan. Sort out the future of players who have expiring contracts. We should definately either sell Morten or give him a new contract. We don't want to leave it 6 months and leave ourselves in the position where if we choose to keep him other teams can come in and wave big bucks at him and leave us having to fork out over the odds money for him to sign a new deal. Also Dunn needs a new contract doesn't he? Zurab and Gally could have a decent future at our club and are decent players. MGP's contract will be sorted in good time as others will, lets concentrate on trying to add quality to our squad whilst the window is still open. Dunn needs to prove he is worthy of a contract before renewing, unless we offer him pay as you play.
unleaded Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Come on, give it a rest. Gally's wages aren't exactly John Williams fault. He was signed by Graeme Souness! Andrews was signed by Ince but who gave him bigger wages?........................ but dont let a bit of truth get in your way......................
nicko Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Nicko if your about? A colleague of mine is a massive Plymouth Argyle fan and has heard some news that they are going to make a massive signing today any suggestions it could be Gally after he did so well on loan for them last season? Alan Gow was the name I heard...not 'massive' news...even in his own house...but will keep my ears open for you.
alexanders Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Andrews was signed by Ince but who gave him bigger wages?........................ but dont let a bit of truth get in your way...................... You seem awfully angry today? Not signing Ibricic?
CrazyIvan Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Andrews was signed by Ince but who gave him bigger wages?........................ but dont let a bit of truth get in your way...................... Do you really think JW would have given Andrews a better contract without Big Sam's say so? But don't let the normal operations of a football club get in your way eh?
Trickstar Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Alan Gow was the name I heard...not 'massive' news...even in his own house...but will keep my ears open for you. Cheers Nicko, just passed the info on to him and currently trying to stop him jumping out of the 3rd floor window. I think he was hoping for more of a Big Name player
modes98 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 We just spent some money on Salgado's dinner. If Sam knew what his budget was, and used all of it, then why bring Salgado over? You dont give somebody a budget and after using the entire budget still have time to have talks with more players. Well maybe that gives you an insight into what Sam is planning then he is/was intending to move player(s) off the books to allow Salgado to come. However it didn't work out as smoothly as he wanted. If Warnock leaves I would imagine he would sign him if he is available still. It is always good to build relationships and line deals up. Andrews was signed by Ince but who gave him bigger wages?........................ but dont let a bit of truth get in your way...................... The guy had a good season and was far better than anyone expected. I can't imagine he has been given a massive pay rise and as our only fit CM with PL experience we need him
S15 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Well something still aint right. We just spent some money on Salgado's dinner. If Sam knew what his budget was, and used all of it, then why bring Salgado over? That's a bloody good point. Hughesy, ask your Grandad if Sam bought Salgardo three courses, cos if he did there are some serious questions to be answered. If he knew he wanted Salgardo AND Rothen, why blow the all the budget on feeding Salgardo? Madness.

LeChuck Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Do you really think JW would have given Andrews a better contract without Big Sam's say so? Actually, I think he would. Andrews said JW promised him a new deal if he established himself in the first team. I don't think Williams would go back on that.
Guest ErinBrown Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Zurab and Gally could have a decent future at our club and are decent players. MGP's contract will be sorted in good time as others will, lets concentrate on trying to add quality to our squad whilst the window is still open. Dunn needs to prove he is worthy of a contract before renewing, unless we offer him pay as you play. We can do better then Zurab. His game against Dundee United pretty much set out why we should get rid of him. He is a liability and for as long as we can get decent money for him, he should be for sale. Gally is down to the last year of his contract which means we sell now, give him a new deal or lose him for free next summer. Dunn is whether we like it or not, one of our more creative players, when he can get himself onto the pitch. Unless someone flies in and buys the club, we are not going to have the money in the future to replace the likes of him and Gamst, so we need to offer them new deals now whilst we can. Could someone tell me if the Walker Trusties have stopped giving the club their 3 million a season? Also, does anyone know what is going on with Gamst's contract talks? Steven Reid apparetly came through 45 minutes fine in a 5-0 friendly win against Wrexham the other day: http://www.eleven-a-side.com/acrossthewater/news.asp?n=36926
neophox Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 looks like Salgado will sign after all and Gally leave?
Balwer Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 looks like Salgado will sign after all and Gally leave? Based on....?
Torgeir Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Could someone tell me if the Walker Trusties have stopped giving the club their 3 million a season? Also, does anyone know what is going on with Gamst's contract talks? 10 months left of his contract. Talks have been put on hold as it's been the silly season, all normal according to the player's agent Rune Hauge.
BuckyRover Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Actually, I think he would. Andrews said JW promised him a new deal if he established himself in the first team. I don't think Williams would go back on that. Are you trying to say that Sam would not have known about Andrews being offered a new contract? Do you think the promise specifically said 4 years and Sam had no input in that decision? I don't think Sam will stick around very long if that's how JW does business.
T4E Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Are you trying to say that Sam would not have known about Andrews being offered a new contract? No, he said it was possible. It wasn't a difficult post to understand.
LeChuck Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 No, he said it was possible. It wasn't a difficult post to understand. Indeed. It was purely hypothetical, I don't actually doubt that Sam gave it his blessing. I just don't see JW as a man to go back on his word, he seems the honourable type. Wages (and transfer fees) are his responsibility after all, Sam can only offer an opinion.
BigJackWalker Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Sorry i havent been on the board for a little bit are we in for anymore players or are we done for the summer?
Gambit217 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Sorry i havent been on the board for a little bit are we in for anymore players or are we done for the summer? It looks like we need to sell before we can bring anybody else in. Whether it's Gally and/or Stevie remains to be seen.
my_name_is_Earl Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I don't think its a shrewd move to sell Warnock unless we recieve a ridiculous offer. When Sam came in, he was our best player and as player he drives the others forward. He also has a big personality which helps to keep morale up. No way would I sell Warnock just to bring in a couple more players. Before we even think about shipping him out, we should be looking to sell either zurab, gally or treacy or even all three.
Al Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Could someone tell me if the Walker Trusties have stopped giving the club their 3 million a season? The trustees have not been putting in the £3mil for years. In fact last season they made a big fuss about saying they were going to reinstate it then said it was only a loan and took it back again! Fantastic aren't they?
