Backroom Tom Posted August 4, 2009 Backroom Posted August 4, 2009 You cannot keep your number on a new contract with the same provider, so if you want to keep the number you either have to keep that contract or join another netwrok. As the latter is not an option I'd just ring orange say you are unhappy with the nre terms and would like an early upgrade as compensation.

stuwilky Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Or port your number to a Payas you go Sim with another network and then back again. If you can be arsed!!
Hughesy Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Get the iPhone, u can get a pink cover for it Hannah.
Hannah Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Get the iPhone, u can get a pink cover for it Hannah. Are you for real??? I really wanted one of those anyway but have been telling myself no but now the battery life on my nano is rubbish so I could kill two bird with one stone!!! An Iphone in pink!!! Just a shame it is so expensive and they don't do them on orange!!!
Tango Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 What actually are the changes in the Orange mobile charges? I have the text and a website link, but can't seem to load it in my browser. It's http://orangeworld.co.uk/r/03 FYI. I don't really want to change my contract because I'm quite happy with it, but would like to know if the charges would change my mind!
Hughesy Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Tango phone them up. If you have the message they will do something - say you would consider staying if they could offer you a better deal. They will probably reduce your tariff by £10 a month and add another 200 mins or text.... Iv tried doing it, but as texts havent been received yet, they wont let me until iv got it!!

Hughesy Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Check the money saving expert thread - many on there have got better deals thanks to the text
ABBEY Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 is it still doable? can you cancel even if you went thru phones4u? just turned the phone on today and got the text after being awayt for a couple of weeks.
Ste B Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Yep, your contract is with Orange, not with Phones4u.. Though they used to sign you up to some company called Singlepoint. Got my text.. need to work out what phone to go for.
Ste B Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 And they have now pulled the change of T&C's so the options arent open
Ste B Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Nope. Though I did end up with what I wanted in the end anyway.
Big Fat Sam Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I have just been looking at new phones! I don't really know what to look for as they all seem to have extra features that I am sure I never use! All the deals include loads of minutes which I never use - I just send a phenomenal amount of texts! TBH I normally just pick the pink phone from the shop!!! They have a good package with unlimited internet that and a good Internet phone and your life will never be the same. How have orange closed the loop????
Hughesy Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 They have took legal advice which is now covering their backs - unless you go over your limits for the last 3 months then you wont get to cancel it!!
Hannah Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Apparently I can get reception at my parents with O2 so I have started looking at the Iphone as my Ipod Nano is totally dead now!!! What is the difference between the 3G and the 3GS and do I need 32 GB or is 18GB ok? Does it matter where I get one from? They seem to be currently in stock in carphone warehouse. Thanks
Ricky Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 there isn't an 18gb one hannah, it's 16 or 32. The 3GS is quicker and has an improved camera and video recording option. Depends what you want to use it for really. I stretched to a 32gb 3GS and I love it to bits!!

I currently have a 4GB Nano and that just about fits all my music on it - What else will I need GB for on it? Probably sounding a bit thick!!!
Ricky Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 You can store movies and various applications Hannah. To be honest though if you only have 4gb of music a 16gb iphone would be plenty big enough for you.
Hughesy Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 3GS is much quicker on the net and applications. Also has voice dialing, video recording and automatic uploads to youtube, which the 3g doesnt have.
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 They do have high call & text charges compared to the other UK networks, but I love Orange for their 20p/min calls to the Rep. of Ireland
