Paulo Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Alan Smith. Seems to fit the bill. Once great, now shyte. Nicko said he needed to check where he was playing, so it aint him.

Rovermatt Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 No, someone who was at the top, headed for the bottom but may yet be resurrected. Justin Fashanu? There is a line in there about just heading for the bottom...but I won't.
LeftWinger Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Justin Fashanu? There is a line in there about just heading for the bottom...but I won't. That's what I was getting at.
Al Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Like I said earlier, it's a Kevin Davies-style one...a player who had something and seemed to have lost it...but still has time to recover. Interesting that no-one has sniffed it. Just confirms how obscure this one is. Thank goodness for that. I thought you were going to come up with Dwight York. (Phew!)
mellison24 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 It appears Kezman is the new Luca Toni!! Sorry Iccers!!!
langhoblue Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 We have 2 strikers coming in, some money to spend plus a couple of youths who look promising (blackman, hoilet, gallagher?) Why do we need someone like bridges or christie ?? Gallagher - The only thing that's promising about him is that Derby might be interested in buying him. Never been good enough never will be
Mafioso Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Gallagher - The only thing that's promising about him is that Derby might be interested in buying him. Never been good enough never will be hence the ? i put near his name. I would prefer Gallagher to Christie or Bridges or any player that falls into that catagory
T4E Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 If I've read Nicko's clues right, it's going to be someone whose career went downhill after initially looking promising, rather someone who just declined due to old age. For me that completely rules out people like Wiltord, Kewell, Shevchenko etc. Malcolm Christie sounds about right from all the clues so far, although it's probably not him. Thank God someone is reading the clues. Some of the guesses are just laughable. I'm really looking forward to seeing the over-reaction when this one is revealed. Suicide watchers stand by.
broadsword Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Thank God someone is reading the clues. Some of the guesses are just laughable. Adrian Mutu?
nicko Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Nicko, can you at least clarify if he has played in the Premier League before? If not, will we have heard of him at all? Yes, he has...but very briefly.
Ricky Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 You know as soon as you post there are going to be another 50 guesses lol
Dunnfc Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Yes, he has...but very briefly. Must have been either on loan to a PL club or been a player who joined a team in January and got relegated and left them in may hmmm.
PAFELL Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Yes, he has...but very briefly. Was the team he played for relegated?
Ricky Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Rasiak might not be a bad shout. Played in the prem with spurs but didn't play much.
owenrilla Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Pending further pondering I am going to hazard an initial guess at Rolando Bianchi. Played in the Premiership for Man City, was a promising player and had a good scoring record for the u21s. Torino got relegated last season so may be wanting to get rid.
riverside returns Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Ha ha, Ashley Ward never played in the premiership, he was paid and turned up but to my knowledge, never actually played hehe
