Majiball Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I have never thought of it like that. In that case i should mention that i am a good thinker who enjoys working long hours. Just in case anyone is reading who might be looking to appoint somebody on big money in some capacity. Oh and that Jerome Anderson is a bloddy good chap! Enjoy the match mate. Albeit from your laptop. ROFLMAO, never thought of it as a job opportunity. Enjoy the match as well Patrickvalery, hopefully Kean can ram my words down my throat today.

RibbleValleyRover Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I think we can say he's finished at the club now. Rovers 2-0 down and still wasn't brought on.
alexanders Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I would hand in my boots if J useless roberts and Benjani was ahead of me in the pecking order.
patrickvalery Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I would hand in my boots if J useless roberts and Benjani was ahead of me in the pecking order. In all honesty we would have probably done better starting Benjani or Roberts over RSC. I like Kalinic, but a good battering ram may have proved a wiser move. Allowing the likes of Rochina to pick up the pieces. Anything would have trumped the Saturday afternoon rambler Roque.
Mercer Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The most prolific scorer on our books doesn't get a look in when we are desperate for a goal - enough said!
cn174 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The most prolific scorer on our books doesn't get a look in when we are desperate for a goal - enough said! Although prolific does somewhat over-egg it a little, it is stupid. Whilst he's not brilliant he's a better option than a. Roque because he's not arsed and b. finishing the game with Benjani and Roberts!
Exiled_Rover Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I would hand in my boots if J useless roberts and Benjani was ahead of me in the pecking order. I'd be asking for a transfer. Seems coincidental that these rumours of a spurs Move come after international duty, probably just modric in his ear about Spurs whilst he's there. Sounds a bit like our Niko has an attitude problem, which some Split fans warned us of the day he signed It says a lot when Spurs are after him, yet he can't get into our starting XI. That said I suppose the table says everything you need to know about the situation.
JMillZz Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I was part of the whole of our away support chanting Niko's name yesterday. It was chanted on a good few occasions and Kean puts on Roberts, Pedersen and Benjani. What a joke. More of a joke that RSC is still starting. I personally think he did it to rub it in the Rovers' fans faces. Why else wouldn't he have put him on when it was clear he should be on that pitch? Kean is a joke.
London_Rover Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 it won't achieve anything, but if Kean is still manager at the end of the season we should all nominate Kalinic for player of the season as a way of protesting against the current regime.
alexanders Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 What about bring up a Kalinic song. Seem to remember it had effect when Benni Mac was benched earlier.

Sure fire way to make him get sold! What about bring up a Kalinic song. Seem to remember it had effect when Benni Mac was benched earlier. Already tried that on Saturday.
joey_big_nose Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 To echo others sentiments I think Kalinic is finished at the club whether we stay up or go down. There is probably only one game where we can play two up left - home against Bolton - otherwise the severe emphasis will be on defensive solidarity with one up top. When playing a lone striker it will be from Benjani, Roberts or Cruz. He might have some talent but there is little doubt that he was the wrong purchase for the system we are set up to play. It is quite easily arguable that Sam's signing record is worse than Ince's. Ince at least brought in Robinson who has been quality. Only Nzonzi seems to have been worth it from Sam's tenure. Even Givet it is hard to argue has justified the 3.5m and Salgado has been okay but on large wages.
LeChuck Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 It is quite easily arguable that Sam's signing record is worse than Ince's. Grella, Fowler, Andrews and Villanueva. Absolute stinkers, all of them. Allardyce's record is nowhere near as bad.
joey_big_nose Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Grella, Fowler, Andrews and Villanueva. Absolute stinkers, all of them. Allardyce's record is nowhere near as bad. All of them did not add up to the same as Kalinic's cost.
LeChuck Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 All of them did not add up to the same as Kalinic's cost. They add up to roughly the same, not it matters too much. Still though, Kalinic has contributed to the team. Someone posted his goals:minutes ratio this season, it's pretty good. The Ince four were unmitigated disasters who contribute(d) nothing.
booth Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Grella, Fowler, Andrews and Villanueva. Absolute stinkers, all of them. Allardyce's record is nowhere near as bad. I actually liked Villanueva, I think he'd have made a decent player given time. Point taken on the other three though.
LeChuck Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I actually liked Villanueva, I think he'd have made a decent player given time. Skillful and excellent set piece taker, but far too small and slow for the Premier League. He's dossing about in the UAE league now. Fair enough to be doing that when you're 30+ and wanting a pay day, but he's 25. I don't think we'll hear of him again.
bluebruce Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 As you asked Since Kean took charge KALINIC 5 starts, 2 sub appearances – 7 games/ 4 goals Total time = 458 minutes – Goal every 114.5 mins BENJANI 3 starts, 6 sub appearances (3 for less than 10 mins) – 9 games/ 2 goals Total time = 363 minutes – Goal every 181.5 mins Umm. Actually, I wasn't asking, I was informing. Seems you didn't read the rest of my post, but I immediately went on to give my own stats for Kalinic, which I went and researched. And which differ from the ones you've used.
92er Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 It is quite easily arguable that Sam's signing record is worse than Ince's. Ince at least brought in Robinson who has been quality. Only Nzonzi seems to have been worth it from Sam's tenure. Even Givet it is hard to argue has justified the 3.5m and Salgado has been okay but on large wages. Didn't Grella cost more than Robinson?
Backroom Tom Posted April 25, 2011 Backroom Posted April 25, 2011 You know those charity games where celebs play with ex pros, tonight it was like one of those games where a proper footballer is taken off to be replaced by an ex Big Brother contestant. He may not have got long but he offered half of what Benjani had done before him.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 He may not have got long but he offered half of what Benjani had done before him. And Roberts?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Did quite well I thought. Really? From what I saw i would say the complete opposite. But as they say football is about different opinions. I would have kept Benjani on and played Kalinic alongside him (taking Roberts off) or started Benjani with Kalinic. Though i thought Rovers had lost a bit of their mojo and shape when Dunny went off.
dr_awol Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 And Roberts? Roberts at least offers a bit of strength, niko looks beaten its a shame it has not worked out for niko here
patrickvalery Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Playing the way we did tonight meant it was no place for Kalinic. We would have been better taking off Roberts and putting Diouf on. A bit of pace may have troubled City. One thing is for certain, Kean took off the wrong bloke. I never thought i'd say this, but Benjani deserved to stay on and deserves a run in the side.
