mellison24 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 By now, with his lack of scoring, I thought that I would be worried. Strangely: I am not. I do not know why exactly, but I feel like something is going to happen when he is on the pitch. I somehow feel that if he gets chances like Roberts does he will put them away. Surely a pairing of him and 'Santo, should be on the cards against Spurs. With Mr Dunn behind them we should do well. I feel that once he "pops his league cherry" he will become a goal nymphomaniac. Agreed. As I said previously, it's a case of one to open the floodgates.

BRFC1995 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 He has shown all the necessary skills for a very good premier league striker bar one: finishing. It's a matter of scoring one and opening the floodgates, I'm sure of it. With Grabbi, he WAS pure and utter dogshizzle. surely when buying a striker finishing is the 1st thing to get your attention and pace and movement is a mile behind if you don't have finishing in your locker then your not really a striker i want at the club. fearing a bosko balaban situation here looks good in a dire league like croatia or belgium but a mile off it here. hope i'm wrong not the worst player at the club by a distance however.........this season is really gonna drag

And I know we're both hoping for mine to come true.
Hughesy Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Expected to get his first home start of the season tomorrow!
Captain Spaulding Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I just get the feeling he'll need a season to bed in and then he'll start banging them in next season....
Hughesy Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 or the season after that OR maybe the one after that!
mellison24 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I have a fiver on him to score tomorrow, here's hoping!
Hughesy Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I have a fiver on him to score tomorrow, here's hoping! He just got injured in training....
mellison24 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 He just got injured in training.... Do i detect sarcasm? Or have I wasted a perfectly good booze-intended fiver?
Nafe_rovers Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 He's got a girls name Heeeee'ssss got a girls naaaammmee.... give him a bit of time!! at least he has the chances to miss, which is always good right?
alexanders Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Why dont pair him and Di Santo together? Why is it always Benni Mc - Di Santo and Kalinic - Roberts ?
T4E Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 With the negative feedback some are giving about Kalinic, has anyone considered the possibility that he's sitting on the bench looking at the heap of ###### on the pitch in front of him, thinking that maybe he's made a big mistake himself?

No I think he realised the difference in how hard they train & how fast the prem is. He will come good - There are already massive improvements in his game, and he looks like Jansen in the way he bustles his way through and creates his own chances - hopefully he can bag a goal before the turn of the year!
Bobby G Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Another goal. He is a true poacher and if he gets a run of games, he will score more than all the other strikers have this season. Difference is everytime he plays if he doesnt score, he seems to get dropped immediately and has to start from scratch. I think he has earnt a run of 3 successive starts now.

I think we have got to start playing him. He is getting goals and is more of a threat than all of our other strikers by the looks of things. We should pair him with Di Santo and work on improving the poor midfield.

dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 We do need a target man though, whilst I agree with your comments, we need to have a plan B!! We do have a plan B. It is get a set piece then 'pass' the ball into the general direction of one of their heads.

The most annoying thing is Sam will drop him for Tuesday's game, mark my words. That will do the lads confidence the world of good won't it? Kalanic and Di Santo need to start more games together, Sam keeps chopping and changing the front line and no one gets chance to settle. With Dunn back in midfield I think that pairing and his creativity would lead to goals for both of the lads. I wait with bated breath for Tuesday's team selection.........
thenodrog Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 He is a true poacher and if he gets a run of games, he will score more than all the other strikers have this season. Wow! That'll take some doing!
Hughesy Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 So thats 4 goals + 1 disallowed - in not too many minutes im sure?! I hope he starts to get more game time now....I can see why he wouldnt start on Tuesday to be fair, Dunn is quite a tough defender and we might need Roberts to do abit of hard work on him first
Bobby G Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Roberts? No way. Start with the best team, and Kalinic should be in it for sure. He cant come on and do some magic in 15-20 minutes per game. Its about time he started and this is the biggest game of the season so far.
