Silencio Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 What you banging on about? Fairly obvious isn't it? You mention the disallowed goal v United every time we talk about Kalinic. It was disallowed wrongly like thousands of others have been over time. I think Kalinic is a good prospect without mentioning that.
Hughesy Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hence why I said 4 goals + 1 disallowed - not just a straight 5 goals.....FFS some people!
Silencio Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hence why I said 4 goals + 1 disallowed - not just a straight 5 goals.....FFS some people! Just say 4 goals. That's how many he has scored.
den Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hence why I said 4 goals + 1 disallowed - not just a straight 5 goals.....FFS some people! How many Premier league goals since the start of the season Hughesy? That's the important stat, so why not quote that one?
imy9 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 How many Premier league goals since the start of the season Hughesy? That's the important stat, so why not quote that one? More importantly I think we should mention that he has played in 11 premier league games and been on the pitch for 363 minutes, averaged out over 11 games that is just over 30 minutes a game. Played against two premier league teams in cup competitions in Villa and Chelsea and scored against both.
den Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 More importantly I think we should mention that he has played in 11 premier league games and been on the pitch for 363 minutes, averaged out over 11 games that is just over 30 minutes a game. Kidding yourself imy.
Bobby G Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 That means 4 games in the Premiership if you work out the minutes. Not that much to be honest. What's his minutes per goal ratio, anyone, including his PL games?
Amo Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Kalinic has looked impressive in glimpses. He's managed to fashion chances for himself and always looks the most promising of our forward line options. He needs a regular run in the side to build momentum and add some consistency to our attacking options. Will he get this under Big Sam? It remains to be seen.
ABBEY Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 What you banging on about? for once hes right. More importantly I think we should mention that he has played in 11 premier league games and been on the pitch for 363 minutes, averaged out over 11 games that is just over 30 minutes a game. Played against two premier league teams in cup competitions in Villa and Chelsea and scored against both. says him who counted the disallowed goal.
Backroom Tom Posted January 3, 2010 Backroom Posted January 3, 2010 So thats 4 goals + 1 disallowed - in not too many minutes im sure?! I hope he starts to get more game time now....I can see why he wouldnt start on Tuesday to be fair, Dunn is quite a tough defender and we might need Roberts to do abit of hard work on him first I thought he'd scored 3, sure the second goal vs chelsea was accredited to Emerton. (according to the official site it was Emertons goal) He has to start though on Tuesday at least, he scored in the last round and on Saturday in no world should he be dropped.
Backroom Tom Posted January 3, 2010 Backroom Posted January 3, 2010 Exactly but he's playing well we don't need to make things up about him, the goals will come
alexanders Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Love this guy, true goalscorer. Give him a consistent run now and the goals will come.
braddock Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 the new matt jansen strong at holding the ball up and laying it off for a winger/midfielder close control in the box to get shots away when possible sometimes from seemingly lost causes just needs a run in the team. i'd play him ahead of benni mccarthorse
Backroom Tom Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 I think it's looking increasingly likely Kalinic will end up going back to Croatia branded a failure because he never quite got a fair shot. How on earth he found himself dropped today is anybodies guess.
Bobby G Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 And when he was on other than Robinson hoofing it up to him, there was nothing else on for him. He looks frustrated with it all.
Backroom Tom Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 Yep I think soon he may start making noises of being unsettled here
Amo Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Yep I think soon he may start making noises of being unsettled here Wouldn't be surprised or blame him, tbh. None of our other strikers have staked a claim, and yet Kalinic is always playing second-fiddle.
joey_big_nose Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I do agree he should get more of a shot but he was utterly utterly rubbish tonight. Hoilett and Olsson put much much better shifts as subs today. He has real trouble keeping his feet and he is not competitive in the air at all.
Backroom Tom Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 he was runnish as he had literally no service at all
joey_big_nose Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 he was runnish as he had literally no service at all He lost his feet three or four times, he failed to control on a couple of others. Hoilett was up front also and gathered the ball well, and moved it well, and took on the defenders, despite having equally poor service.
braddock Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 kalinic is the best striker at the club. if we played to the teams strengths he could achieve a lot. allardyce refuses to play to anyones strengths but his own though
Silencio Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I think Sam is getting personal with Kalinic, he should be in the side.
Backroom DE. Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 Can;t blame Kalinic for being low on confidence when he cannot get a run of even 2 games starting. If he was up front with a partner (Di Santo?) maybe we'd see more from him. There aren't many strikers right now who'd look good playing in the lone man role, especially with the creative-void we call a midfield supporting them.
