adopted scouser Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Can't believe the number of chances and no bloody goal. Unbelievable
j166429 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 So is Pedersen, good crosses and getting stuck in. agree with you totally there. He's well involved. Biggest dissapointment are the strikers!!
Miker Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 We're looking fairly impressive so far all over the pitch, even the defense has regained their concentration and dealing with City's pace. Pedersen looks committed... probably the most pleasing of all. Should be 1-1 already...
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 More happier than i was after the dreadful start/defensive mistakes. Seem to be dominating the game and its clear to me that City are there for the taking if we can put the ball in the back of the net. Roberts may have been a bit of a handful but he can't finish, i'd bring him off and put Di Santo on.
bigbrandjohn Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 agree with you totally there. He's well involved. Biggest dissapointment are the strikers!! just chase back the length of the field to save a city shot.
adopted scouser Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 How many times as that tart Barry been on his arse ?
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Impressed with the way we're pressing them, Gareth Barry doesn't look up to much when we put him under pressure. City's defence is still Keystone Cops.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 What's everyone's views on N'Zonzi? Hasn't done that badly, needs a bit more work on his game and development but he looks promising.
rovers1993 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 looks like man city is already a big club... their getting away with penalty appeals. lol
bigbrandjohn Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 just chase back the length of the field to save a city shot. We do forget how many important goals Andrews scored last year. He just fired a scorcher that was a possible penalty.
donis1410 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 so I take it we have brought our dismall opening 10 minutes performances into this season from last year?
Amo Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Pretty impressed with the side so far. Clearly the weaker side on paper, but we've given a good account of ourselves and created some decent openings. Just lacking that little bit of quality.
Eddie Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 We do forget how many important goals Andrews scored last year. He just fired a scorcher that was a possible penalty. Yep. Wasn't a pen, but would have been a goal if it hadn't been blocked by Dunne. Good hit.
mattyc2422 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Despite the scoreline, I'm really pleased with how we are playing thus far. Significantly better than what we were putting out last year. N'Zonzi has been okay too. Put Nelsen, Kalinic, Di Santo, Dunn, Reid, Emerton and a few others back in this side, and we will be looking okay.
Heinz Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Respect Jacobsen! Clearly provides what we've been missing with Ooijer. Roberts, will he ever score? Impressed so far bar that silly goal.
Tango Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Andrews vs Barry is something of a "no contest". Other than that we've looked very decent and don't deserve to be losing. Expect a second counter-attack goal to kill us off now.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Need to get a goal early after HT imo. The longer it drags on with the scoreline remaining the same the more likely City will hit us on the break as we stretch for a late equaliser. Bring on Di Santo Sam and take off Roberts.
Balwer Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Impressed despite the scoreline, no real weak links, just can't find a way to finish. Been super impressed by Pedersen's efforts today.
Mr. E Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 ah, well come back sweet football how much I missed you so. We absolutely ripped apart ManCiteh, barely let them touch the ball. But why are we losing? because: A) We can't finish our good chances Citeh have paid for Given to make impossible saves C) Citeh have paid for Robinhio and Adabayor to combine and score such goals. Even when it's 90% us and 10% the opposition, we're still losing. What is even the ********** point of this bull****.
bigbrandjohn Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Half time. We have been all over the them. Good to have a game like this to fire us up. Sets us up well for the next few. Some good performances this half. One lapse with a great defence splitting pass is all that separates us. I feel good about the second half if we keep the passion and the concentration. if we lose our composure we will ship a load. All about psychology at this stage and I fancy Sams motivation.
j166429 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Andrews vs Barry is something of a "no contest". Other than that we've looked very decent and don't deserve to be losing. Expect a second counter-attack goal to kill us off now. Mr optimistic
Heinz Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Does Jason Roberts' constant grinning like an idiot annoy anyone else? LOL I was thinking the same thing!
tony gale's mic Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 We really need to give Di Santo a run around. It makes no sense to have someone of his quality sat on the bench in a game like this. Hughes knows Roberts and McCarthy only too well so can make some sort of plan for them...if Di Santo comes on I really think he could swing things here.
