Exiled in Toronto Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Warnock on his arse when he was last man; Pedersen putting the first gree kick into row Z; Roberts spooning a sitter - last season seems such a distant memory! Am I the only whose pulse slows down when either Pedersen or Roberts get the ball? Andrews and N'Onzi are anonymous but that was to be expected - neither should be starters, although Andrews chipped in a peach of a pass for Roberts and smacked in a good shot near the end. On the plus side, Jacobsen has looked good, Givet also and Benni is far and away our quality player on the pitch, and we may well scuff a goal from a set-piece.

briansol Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Good stuff so far. The goal was all Samba. losing it on the midline and not tracking back to prevent Adebayor for having a pop. However afterwards it was a very good performance. The new boys did well and even Peds looked up for it. Hope it continues for the second half, thought I expect City to see a lot more of the ball. I hope we will see som Di Santo and Hoillett.
RoversSG Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Roberts still can't finish and Benni looks very very rusty. Can't really see how they're going to get an equalizer. Think our best chance will come from either a samba header off a set piece of a Pedersen special. Pedersen seems to have brought his international form over. One of his better displays in some time.
Tango Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Mr optimistic After years as a Rovers fan, it's the only way to be!
Guest ErinBrown Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Even when it's 90% us and 10% the opposition, we're still losing. What is even the ********** point of this bull****. Do mulligans exist in football? Maybe we should just give up. Or maybe we should remind other big spending teams that even if we lose, we will try our hardest!

I don't think N'Zonzi has been that bad. The lad was playing for a team in the French 2nd division (who were relegated) last season. It will take him time to settle. As for pederson, he's been great apart from THAT freekick. Agree about Jacobsen and Givet.

Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 anyone need the setanta link? Don't talk about illegal streams or you'll get a ban from the mods. Just a heads up.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Couple of superb tackles by Warnock. City are starting to get back into this game though. I'd bring on Di Santo and maybe Hoilett soon. Give them something different to deal with.
HemelRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I agree, Diouf's been a bit quiet. Haul him off for Hoilett. Use his pace against Bridge.
rovers1993 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 diouf has been putting in some excellent crosses. keep him on. take off benni and JR off for di santo and junior.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Couple of decent saves by Given, city struggling with crosses into the box. Get bloody Di Santo on and put them balls into the box.
rovers1993 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 robbo with good save from robinho. getting quite annoyed by the commentators... not acknowledging us at all, only complimenting citeh. we are dominating and their saying nothing about it.
spencey7 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 The gulf in technique between the two teams is huge. Even things as basic as first touches. We are playing ugly...
mattyc2422 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 City really applying the pressure here. We've definitely had our chances...
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Going to leave it too late, need to make these changes soon.
Iceman Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Il take the draw now. We should have been comfortably in front by now. A point against City wont be a bad result
Tango Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Good saves apiece for Given and Robinson. Need to get McCarthy off quick, been carrying a knock the last 5 mins and hasn't touched the ball.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Sounds like Di Santo is coming on soon, just need to make sure we put some decent crosses into the box.
