unleaded Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Mail reporting that Newcastle have asked about Zurab Khizanishvili if Taylor goes................Bamba again linked with Rovers...............That would be good deal............
Iceman Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 fresh fish fresh fish fresh fish Is that a clue? We signing Mark Fish Ok i never really believed that we were done just yet with the window, it didnt make sense sell warnock for 8 and buy chimbonda for 2 and no way was sam going to keep the remainder till jan. So all this talk of a mindblower is based on what? a bentley driving away from ewood or does someone have any real info? Well there was a Bentley, that once drove away from Ewood. That Bentley is now parked in a garage in London
the swede Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Someone who Sam's worked with before, perhaps? all i can say is salgado has put in a good word , and the player is interested in coming. Then it must be Iván Campo! He's a "Mind-blowing signing" Worked with Sam at Bolton and Salgado's "good word" from their time together at Real Seriously, I think it could be another Iván...............Helguera. He's quality, even at age 34. What the hell, they are free agents. Lets bring them both in!
LeChuck Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Helguera does seem like a typical Allardyce signing...but surely we've got our 'golden oldie' in Salgado. The more I think about replacing Benni with a proper attacking midfielder, the more I want us to do it. Wishful thinking....but is Boateng replacing Krancar at Pompey....
walk down bolton road Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Said one trustee to the other. And the other trustee said "Keep it down, maybe nobody will notice".

Blue blood Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 As sad as this post is its so true , heaven forbid we pay a lot for a player and he does bugger all ( insert name here Grella) We should have at least £ 4 - 5 million left to spend after Chimbonda. Agree, I'm not going to say that rovers don't need to be making a profit in their transfer dealings, nor that some of the money has to go to satisfy the bank but given that all of that was done prior to selling Warnock, I struggle to see how there isn't at least another 4 million to spend. What did we get for Warnock, 8 million? Even knocking off a couple of million (inc fees) for the Chimbonda deal, and a couple of millioon to the bank that leaves 4 million to spend. Not saying spend for the sake of it but we really need a centre mid if we don't want it to be a gamble in that position.
Bobby G Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I dont think anything else will happen at the club and that this is all she wrote for us...Unless we have a shocking performance and result tonight, which no one wants. At which point a panic purchase in central midfield may occur.
rebelmswar Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Mail reporting that Newcastle have asked about Zurab Khizanishvili if Taylor goes................Bamba again linked with Rovers...............That would be good deal............ Sol Bamba would be very good back up is Zurab goes, has the potential to replace The Admiral in a few years. You are talking about the Ivory Coast international Unleaded? The gentleman may just me a hair smaller than Samba.
Fife Rover Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Sol Bamba would be very good back up is Zurab goes, has the potential to replace The Admiral in a few years. You are talking about the Ivory Coast international Unleaded? The gentleman may just me a hair smaller than Samba. Look people, I really hate to be a party pooper, but please take it from one who has seen Sol Bamba in action for 3 consecutive seasons at Dunfermline (S/T holder there). When he played for the Pars he was a good player BUT even in a very mediocre Dunfermline SPL team he was nothing outstanding. He had his moments , (even Andrews has those) but was nothing spectacular, and then when DAFC got relegated and Hibs offered for him I dont think there was any weeping and knashing of teeth amongst the Pars supporters. So what I am saying is, I really don't think he is anything like as good as Zurab, and if he were to be a replacement for his look-alike.. Samba; I would just about freak-out. And so would all you lot when you saw him in action on a regular basis.
Big Fat Sam Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 OK bye then, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
joey_big_nose Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 OK bye then, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Didn't realise he was on the last year of his contract. Thats rubbish because if he carries on as he started at Blades he would be worth a couple of million....
joey_big_nose Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Pretty dulll first half. Chimbonda our best player, only one looking to carry the ball. We should bring on Kalinic for Andrews, put Dunn on the right and go 442.

1864roverite Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Todays game EMPHASISED one thing. WE NEED A CENTRAL PLAYMAKER
Exiled_Rover Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Flog him off in Jan or if his loan allows perhaps now? He's not Premier League quality - I don't know why he thinks he deserves a longer leash than the one he's had. I'd like to get some money for him though rather than let him go on a free next summer. The academy isn't producing first teamers, at least it should pay for itself through the sale of players not quite making the grade.
blue and whites Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Pretty dulll first half. Chimbonda our best player, only one looking to carry the ball. We should bring on Kalinic for Andrews, put Dunn on the right and go 442. agree that we need to try out kalinic on a permanent basis up front, really like what i saw of him today, but we need dunns creativity in central of the field, along with nzonzi, who i think is looking more and more like a cracking player. very good at winning the ball, both on ground and in the air, and is getting better and better in his passing as well. think it's great we found a good young player in france, which didn't caught wengers eyes.
neophox Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Tugay arrived at the game today, maybe he's getting out of retirement?
Exiled_Rover Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 If he'd brought his boots he'd have got a game today.
neophox Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Probably its Joey Barton that will join Rovers on a free.
unsall Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Tugay arrived at the game today, maybe he's getting out of retirement? Unfortunatly I believe he starts work next week at City, coach under Glen Hodges ...........
