Blackburn have turned down a bid from Olympiakos for Norwegian winger Morten Gamst Pedersen.

Full story: The Sun

One of the other doctors on my ward is a massive Olympiakos fan and he told me they were interested a good couple of weeks ago, which suggests it must have been reported on Greek news sources at least.

i say we should sell mgp.

we have enough options on the wing in: hoilett, diouf, van heerden, emerton

he has 1 yr left of his current contract and is possible looking for a raise. with our wage budget already on high pressure, this is exactly a sale we should be doing. also by selling him to greece and olympiakos we dont have to worry that he will rediscover his form and strengthen one of our league rivals.

I would be tempted to sell too. His delivery has been much better this season but he just doesn't carry a goal threat, despite being decent in the air. Not enough pace for 4231 if we are going down that route and I think we are.

Additionally it seems he is looking to run down his contract which does not bode well in terms of commitment, and also it means we won't get a fee.

On the other hand he is our only left footed attacker - tricky. I suppose we could have Diouf on the left and Hoilett on the right.

Prior to posting the above, you stated "...100 per cent true with the person in question now, no source names for obvious reasons...". That was posted yesterday afternoon.

Now you are claiming that you only spoke to him by phone - and it was actually in the evening?

If you read it in context then you'll realise he isn't saying he is with the manager. Just that he is with the source of the information.

So offering him a new contract and turning down a bid from Fulham......................get a feeling the person who told you this matey,..may be wrong..

100 per cent true with the person in question now, no source names for obvious reasons

If anyone was in doubt then John is completely trustworthy.

I would have sold him, Pedersen is nowhere near the player he was 2-3 seasons ago. Maybe thought he might be starting to come back to his old self after a couple of decent performances at the start of the season, but then i thought he was dire against West Ham.

If we could have sold him and brought in a central midfielder then i would definitely have taken it. We have Diouf who can play on that left wing, plus junior has played that position a few times at St Pauli, Olsson also looks better going forward than in defence so maybe he is worth a try on that left wing?

There could be something to that...the Blades are currently talking to their number one midfield target and not getting anywhere fast.

Who's there number one midfield target and do you know how much the bid for pedersen was? I'm glad we turned it down though

He wouldnt have left unless our business was done.

Looks like no more incomings for us.

Depends where he's gone. He could be off to negotiate with a midfielder, contract and pen in hand, whilst JW is back at the office on the phone to shift Andrews at the same time in a classic pincer movement.

It's so simple and so obvious we've all missed it!

If he is out of the country it must be to negotiate. There is no way he's on holiday when a couple of players could be leaving and we need a creative midfielder and probably another striker...

Sam's interviewed in some magazine about deadline day, can't remember which it was. Anyway, he was basically saying he hates it, isn't looking to bring anyone else in, and is more bothered about keeping hold of his players.......

I have no faith in those mentiones being any more effective than MGP. I would only sell if a direct replacement was brought in and even then I still want to see him in the middle.

You'll have to ask him to let us know how Derb's gets on.

Rumour has it that Sam isnt in the country - so any transfers by 5pm tomorrow is down to JW

I reckon Sam's gone to LA.

IF sky are right about Zenden. Who have we sold to make it happen? And where does he fit into our team?

If Sky are right Zenden will be in on a free - he's played just 6 full games in the past two years for Marseille and has been released.
