Backroom Tom Posted August 31, 2009 Backroom Posted August 31, 2009 I'm honestly surprised Nicko doesn't go dark till after the window closes it must be infuriating to spend time making calls and doing research just for his stories to be regurgitated by some no mark on SSN as an 'exclusive' moments later. I hope we bring in one or two but would be surprised if we manage to shift anybody, Zurab would be useful to many a teams but he is rarely seen so wont be at the top of peoples thoughts unless we do a lot of pimping.

imy9 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 At a guess Zurab is on £20K a week and Benni £40K, so that would be £60K saved plus any transfer fee (£2 million ish for Zurab and £4 million for Benni?) I wonder if Sam is looking at a striker as well as a midfielder.
ewoodpo Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Nicko do we need to be getting excited about your 11 o' clock ?

Maybe next season it will be midfielders
they_think_its_all_rover Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 BENJANI...looking for big money, telling people Rovers are in for him...but may turn up in a very unexpected place tomorrow. Notts County?
nicko Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Nicko do we need to be getting excited about your 11 o' clock ? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I think there will be a bit of news about, there is just now but there might be even more happening in the next few hours. Of course, there will be the usual mumping and moaning. So I won't use the word 'exciting' - maybe 'interesting.'
Stuart Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 he was chaparone and getting all the inside info on poshes brazilan complete with " i love hughsey" tat on her inner thigh. She had 'hughsey tat' on her inner thigh? You'd think in London, Madrid, Milan or L.A. she could have found a tatooist who could spell!
Fraserkirky Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Cheers Nicko, looking foward to it as always. Do you have any info on the MGP offer? I would drive him there myself for anything over 3m. Last chance for Emana lads !!!!!

Much talk about Coyley wanting to take Zurab, and also again his name coming up, Keith Andrews in a 1.5mill deal. Seeing as Coyley is your sidekick, anything in that? BS im assuming?

Hi Mack Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Cheers Nicko, looking foward to it as always. Do you have any info on the MGP offer? I would drive him there myself for anything over 3m. Last chance for Emana lads !!!!! If we sold MGP for anything near 3M the whole board should be sacked! Again i think MGP gets a raw deal off alot of people! If we lost him we would then notice what he brought to the team. He backs up the LB very well and his Set Pieces are usually very good. Ok the goals have dried up but I think we are better off with him than without him!

Only one position needed to fill - physical target man option - Cousin the first choice. Amazed that there has not been more amusement about Burnley being after a player called Cousin. You Rovers fans have gone soft...
1864roverite Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Last 24 hours and it becomes desperate for clubs trying to improve their squads whilst at the same time lessening their clubs of deadwood players wo are a drain on finances. If there is a God, then he would allow Rovers to rid themselves of Andrews, Rigters, Zurab,Treacy and Benni whilst allowing the signing of a half decent journeyman striker and a central midfielder who can create, pass, defend and run. Lets hope any news is POSITIVE
UbuRoi Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 BS, it is. Only one position needed to fill - physical target man option - Cousin the first choice. Amazed that there has not been more amusement about Burnley being after a player called Cousin. You Rovers fans have gone soft...

He's so arrogant and moody he'd bite your head off if you don't pronounce it 'Coo-zahn'
nicko Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 He's so arrogant and moody he'd bite your head off if you don't pronounce it 'Coo-zahn' I'm sure Owen will be able to handle him in the proper manner.
Gally Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 That may be, but he'll certainly need some managing. Good player when he can be bothered, showed that for Rangers often enough, but he doesn't help himself. He can look as good as anyone in a big game, but chances are he'll do absolutely nothing for the next three after it.

Ok the goals have dried up but I think we are better off with him than without him! Nonsense, he probably ain't signing a contract this year, since he's been in talks about a new deal a couple of times and nothing happened. 3m and saving 30/40k on wages for a year. MGP has been an excellent servant for the club, i use to think he was our best player but not these days I'm afraid. If Sam is persistant in the 4-5-1 formation we need a bit of pace on the wings and there job is to support the striker as much as possible and get in amongst the goals, a postion I think Junior is gonna make his own this season. The full backs get support from the 2 defensive midfielders. Junior,Diouf,Dunn(kind of)Elrio and olsen can all play there, and hopefully out of all the proffessional footballers at the club a few of them can manage to deliver a ball from set pieces with a reasonable amount of accuracy. Use MGP's wages to sign Emana.

mogster Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 The Sky Sports News north west reporter has just said that Zenden is unlikely and any further transfer activity at Blackburn is extremely unlikely. Looks like he believed what Sam said last week.
beerwins Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Samba's and bamba's and burnley chasing cousin's this window really is too much.
