Thanks Nicko for the updates ! I have been sunning myself on the Algarve for a fortnight, so am somewhat behind the times, so apologies if this has already been mentioned - but who is the priority for midfield then ? Nolan, Emana ? cheers

Nolan.

Villa selling Shorey to Pompey.

Think that Spurs bet is under serious threat from Pompey now unless Spurs wrap up the sale of Bentley PDQ.

Hearing Spurs want young Palace player Moses

Jordan would hate that but they are skint

*** Update***

oh yeah and they will loan him back so that would count as 2 deals

Kevin Nolan for 45K a week, :o .

Kish we could cope with, but no way Benni, I had a feeling it would be Nolan. If he does come then I can't wait to hear what he says on signing???

If we acctually have the funds to pay 45K a week loans then surely we could have gotten better and perhaps someone who has some positives feelings for our club. He cannot be the only midfielder available for the money we have surely??

I guess this is Sam's way of getting back at the boo-boys.

Emana, Yebada(sp)?

Is that what professional managers do? Hmph you learn something new everyday. I bet he only bought Givet to annoy us as well.

This is going to push me over the edge.

L'equipe was on for weeks when we were over there that the deal for Rothen had been agreed but that allardyce had told the player he couldn't sign him till he'd sold Warnock to Villa. Then it all went very quiet. He was very impressed with the training facilities and everything when he was over here so what didn't happen that needed to happen I don't know.

Nolan is the solution to our midfield problems  All the time sam spent scouring the french leagues and we find nolan!

Im so gutted about this that barton sounds good, my god its hard to see how rovers got to this stage, 45,000 a week for this turd NOT A FRIGGING CHANCE. I would rather have no-one than waste so much a week on nolan.

Im sick of reading about the absolute dead end players we get linked with, i rated sam at bolton but i feel totally let down by some of his transfers and i think this is the icing on the cake.

Eh? What dead end players are you talking about? The only ones of those Sam has signed are Diouf (who did pretty well) and Salgado - not yet played so I have no idea what they would be like.

Jacobsen, Givet, Chimbonda, Hoilett, Kalanic all look like major improvements to the side. Remember Ince broght in Grella and Andrews.

However Nolan on the other hand is rubbish. Only way it is acceptable is if we shift Andrews or Zurab as it would be a slight improvement. No way should we replace Benni with him!

With Di Santo, Kalinic, Hoilett we are not going to be playing the percentage "knock down" game that Nolan thrives on. Not the right signing for us.

Is Emana actauly an option or just paper talk?

I'd rather have Nolan than Rothen, at least Nolan isn't 10000 years old.
Completely disagree. We need someone who has quality on the ball and in the pass. Rothen has that. Plus he can compete with Pedersen on the left.

Nolan is just a player who is good at picking up knockdowns. No real creativity or quality. Unless we started playing Samba up front again I don't see the point.
