rovers1995 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I think Stroke boy has disppeared. I haven't seen him all summer. He's been replaced by Geraint Hughes.
nicko Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 When was the last time we made a deadline day signing - was it Bellamy? Bellamy signed on July 7 2006...
Ricky Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 When was the last time we made a deadline day signing - was it Bellamy? Mark Bunn in 2008
nicko Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I think Stroke boy has disppeared. I haven't seen him all summer. He's been replaced by Geraint Hughes. Stoke Boy is now doing after-match interviews. To be fair, he is quite good at it. And - above all - we don't have to see his face. TICKER ADD... The Bolton-Kamara story on Sky is wrong...they will be signing Klasnic.
Dunnfc Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Was funny though with four mobile phones claiming peter kenyon is ringing him with chelsea news lmao Gutted he won't be on.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 He was the kind of chap who pretended to talk on his mobile with a smug face then went bright red when the phone he was "using" started ringing.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Mark Bunn in 2008 wooh ta!
nicko Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 TICKER UPDATE... Sheff U very hopeful of signing James Harper from Reading for £1.5 million which means the Keith Andrews move won't be happening there...Blades also fending off bids for Matthew Kilgallon from Middlesbrough among others.
sambo Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 What is the name of stroke boy? I have to search him up

Sheff U very hopeful of signing James Harper from Reading for £1.5 million which means the Keith Andrews move won't be happening there...Blades also fending off bids for Matthew Kilgallon from Middlesbrough among others. Nicko, we knew that Andrews wouldn't be going there anyway mate. We rejected a bid, and gave him new contract, not rocket science. There is zero Rovers news, it's harsh to lead people on.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Nobody seems to know but the name Andy Burton or something similar rings a bell.

Sparky Marky Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Maybe you want to break that news to your manager... Are you saying that sam wants rid? why would they have him sign a new contract? can't imagine it would make any difference to the fee...we'd get what we paid.

Sam would sell...John's info yesterday was spot-on...but, as with all players, it is down to the fee. I will bet there are a few people at the club kicking themselves for not taking the Fulham money. The BIG mistake of the window.

I can understand why we didn't sell at the time as he was one of only two fit central midfielders on the books. Its only Dunn and Grella completing 90 which has changed the picture.
Sandiway Blue Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Nobody seems to know but the name Andy Burton or something similar rings a bell. The one and only! Tv gold awaits at 4pm.....

Fulham rang and were willing to pay around £2 million. Rovers wanted more.
joey_big_nose Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Fulham rang and were willing to pay around £2 million. Rovers wanted more. Well I guess we should of taken it then, but we would have needed a replacement lined up. Not sure who would have fitted the bill. Nolan I suppose?
modes98 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I will bet there are a few people at the club kicking themselves for not taking the Fulham money. The BIG mistake of the window. I think every member of this messageboard including the fans of opposition clubs could have told you that turning down a profit on Keith Andrews was pure madness.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Not much point turning a profit if we can't spend it, is there Modes?
Sparky Marky Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Course there is...can't belive fulham wanted to buy him....
modes98 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Not much point turning a profit if we can't spend it, is there Modes? Equally not much point keeping him if he is rubbish. If we sold him for £2m, we may get to spend £500k of it
American Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Not to turn this into another Andrews debate, but we'd have had to replace him with someone else who was willing to play a sub role when everyone was fit and cost less than 1 million to really turn a profit. This was also before we had 10 right backs, so his ability to cover there was important at the time.
