Another "little" problem with signing Gohouri as a replacement for Samba that nobody has mentioned is the African Nations Cup, when he would go missing for several weeks and maybe come back injured as well. Another good reason for keeping Samba.

He's played for the national side all of twice, both caps in 2007. He's no closer to being an Ivory Coast regular than Warnock or Bentley are with England.

Oh so he's not good enoughto play for the Ivory Coast but he is good enough to play for Rovers is that it?

On the other hand if he does sign for us and plays to anything like a reasonably acceptable standard for us don't you think he will get called up again for his country? It's not Brazil we are talking about.

No, they never do. Samba plays for the lesser of the two Congos, if memory serves. South Africa and Togo failed to qualify as well, so the likes of Benni, Mokoena and Adebayor won't be going.

From the looks of their recent lineups, Kolo Toure and Abdoulaye Meite have been their first choice centre halves. He'd certainly get at least on the bench if he was playing regularly in the Premier League, I'm sure. If he comes as a Zurab though, you never know.

Ivory Coast might not be Brazil but they're not a bad side.

It would be very hypocritical if Everton went after Samba considering the fuss that they, rightly, made over Lescott!! Moyes complained how city unsettled the player & have acted in an unprofessional manner yet they decide to to the same to us days before the transfer window closes!?! I dont see it happening!!

Also, Lescott is only worth Evertons 22 million valuation because City would be willing to pay it! No other team would pay that for him & Everton could well be stuck with an unhappy player who they wont be able to shift!! I cannot see Samba having his head turned in the same way & if he is, Everton will have to pass every penny of what they got for Lescott!!

Simple as!!

I think he was talking about the player not qualifying for a work permit as hes only played a couple of times.

Taken from there -

Gally (as he's known) is a cracking little player, can't understand anyone in this league being unhappy with his signing!

He played 25mins for Blackburn against Man City the other night (and took out Tevez) so that should tell you something.

I was told by his father-in-law and i know he is his relation as i got my Argyle-Arsenal ticket off Gallagher and went with the said in-law.

It is going to be Gally announced tomorrow, suprised it wasn't announced today. Permanent signing.

Check out PASOTI, go to rumours, thread called "Gally coming back" top of page 2 is a bloke called BRFC19, he is for real

Clever of him to take out Tevez when Tevez didn't even come on until the 69th minute, by which time Gally was long off the field injured.

Must have nutted him on the bench or something!

Sorry about that. Thought Gally went off injured. Never mind. Probably a pre-season game crept into my head.

Edit: Just realised. Dundee United game...

Give him digs im Margot's bulding at the top of church street. The tumbleweed rolling around Blackburn town centre and the closed pubs, restaurants and clubs will cure his nocturnal wanderings in quick time.

Good job Three Pigeons is shut then eh?

Err.... is Samba not just a tad african?

I know it tells those who arrive that they can expect a juicy signing fee in about two years time.

A point not to be missed!

DR Congo haven't qualified for the ACN - they fell at the 2nd round - finished 3rd in a group of Egypt, Malawi & Djibouti.

(It's unconfirmed whether Madonna's adopted babies scored the goals to take Malawi through...

I don't think that is a problem. One of the sites posted up about him yesterday seemed to indicate he has part french nationality as well.

I think it is sad if we have sold Gallagher. When you look whose been brought in.

Why?

The lad isnt good enough, has been loaned out to nearly every football league club and isnt going to feature for Rovers much this season...he has had his chance and been found wanting and its better for him and the club if he moves on!
