I disagree RSC Ooijer Tugay Warnock Gone!

The players in arent as good (yet) as these who have left!

RSC had one good season and obviously wanted to leave. I'm not convinced that he would have replicated his form for us at any point in the future. As for Ooijer, Salgado has the potential to be a much better and much more influential signing for us than he ever was. Tugay is irreplaceable in terms of what he meant to the club and the supporters, but he was 39 years old - he probably could've managed 8-10 games a season and his presence merely masked deficiencies that were there in our midfield to begin with. Warnock is a good player but not irreplaceable - like I said, we have good full backs in Salgado / Olssen / Jacobsen / Givet.

There's plenty of time left in this window, and there have been rumblings about him leaving for months - I'm sure BFS has someone lined up, and is well aware of our weak midfield.

Give the old bugger some credit - AND some time to sort things out.

My feeling on this one is that Steven Warnock is a cracking player but has always been prone to making cock-ups fairly regularly which he has been forgiven because he is such an all-action honest crowd pleaser. Add to that, Warnock really did not want to leave Rovers and the club did not want to lose him.

£8m is light when you consider Villa were looking at offering £7m for Dustbin and £7m for Jeans (I am in a dirty mood because my flight time has changed for tomorrow).

Lop the 15% off for the usual sticky fingers (agent and player), my guess is Sam comfortably has £5m to play with and accepting the offer at this stage of the window points to Sam knowing exactly what he wants to do with it. Let's see.

Givet offers NOTHING going forward, nothing. He aint even a left back for god sake he's a left footed centre back.

If he gets injured then Olsson comes in and from what i've seen i don't think he is up to standard.

i prefer my defenders to defend, useless lump pedersens responsibility to attack (wish we were getting 8m for him). Givet certainly challenges at attacking set plays and was unlucky not to score a few towards the end of last season, jacobsen would more than likely cover the left now.......i'd be amazed if sam see's a future for ollsen the fella is a disaster waiting to happen, makes me very nervous when he plays.

SALGADO-----------------SAMBA-----------------------ADMIRAL©------------------GIVET

a superbly defensive defence, onus on the midfield and strikers to bloody attack

Well if the money doesnt get spent on a midfielder im gonna rip for sure , what the hell was the point in selling him ?? im getting mad just now thinking that the money will not be spent, all out best players are always sold which i understand, the reason i love rovers is we make players or ressurect their careers but selling them for no reason would be insane.

Tugay has never been replaced and i was mad as hell when sam said all our transfer dealings were done , who would replace him , dunny, reid, grella , not 20 games between them, for the boards sake i hope they sign someone to fill his gap.

The thing that really annoys me is that Aston Villa look garbage this year in all areas of the pitch. How is going there a step up? Also, and more importantly, they've had since 1st of June to bid for him, why do it 11 days before the deadline? Martin O'Neill is a hypocrite. He was mad when Liverpool bidded for Barry but it's alright for him to do it to us. HYPOCRITE.

I think this place is going to erupt...

You knew already didn't you? And some question you philip. Watch and learn guys and girls.

Steven Warnock is on his way.

Arse. And yet a tad predictable.

Hopefully we can bring a midfielder in. Doesn't say a great deal about the current 4 or 5 we have in midfield does it? Needs must I reckon. Stuck with a load of crocks / rubbish.

In Sam (with his lack of funds) we trust. This will take time. We'll stay up and beat them twice. We have the right man in charge to do it. That'll do me this season.

(p.s. Let's be honest though, Stevie was nowt but an all action Kenna)

The club will have to be very careful here, all the money must go to transfer fund, bugger the bank, tell them to p*** off!!

I do feel we have a midfielder lined up!

If not 2 !!

If money is not put into transfers, then the club will lose all credibility with its supporters !!

Liverpool could well have a sell on clause as well further cutting into the money available, we did get him cheap at the time so it wouldn't surprise me.

Hopefully it's all part of a well worked out plan and we have a replacement for Andrews lined up - Kalinic's mate would do fine.

Then again this is rovers, so the likelihood is that we have no-one else coming in and the Warnock fee will disappear.

the fact we got him cheap means liverpool obviously inserted a sell on clause, 25% is about the standard for those things is'nt it.

I trust sam has some obscure french/african lined up in our price range, we definitely don't need to replace like for like

To me, Warnock was very poor last season [yes he won the POTY, but goodness knows how]. That cash could help improve the squad, if used properly.

Warnock out Emana in.

;)

Can we now give Andrews Rovers player of the year for 09/10?

 It has to be between Andrews, Brown or Roberts.........

I think Sam wants a defence, that defends and doesnt swan off upfront (except maybe Samba), Givet is a much safer bet from that point of view. Warnock isnt the best defender and does make his fair share of cruicial mistakes. The only thing I will miss about him is his hard work and strong challenges (aslong as we do sign a good midfielder)

WHAT would people rather have - Warnock or a Midfielder with real Quality??

How dare you den! We're a very well run club. We budgeted for a top 4 finish last season and now we're just balancing the books again. It's not easy with just the Sky money coming in and Keef on £150k a week.

Mind you we're still paying off Archie Knox probably. *feel free to shudder at this point as I just did remembering his name*

One last thing, everyone that has had Warnock printed on your shirt, you won't get a refund. I think it's disgraceful because when Rovers came out and said Warnock won't get sold, they screwed over every single one of the supporters.

Complete overreaction. Some perspective please. Have they ever said that he definitely wouldn't leave?
