Speaking of whom, has he actually re-signed from West Ham (or should I say have they agreed to his usual greedy demands)?

It said on the radio the other week the greedy so and so had allowed his contract to expire and was currently without a club but was training on his own with a personal trainer in the hope of several clubs coming in for him and him getting the best deal etc. Would serve him right if he was left completely high and dry.

Don't think there's ever been a more mercenary (or over rated) player

I take it there is no 11 o'clocker because Sam has come out and said Warnock won't be sold because of Nelsen's injury?

Our fave paraguayan and Lucash.

He never was anything but committed to playing 100% for the club while he was under contract, no matter how Rev tries to change history.

Told the club to sell him, that he wasn't going to stay, and when they made the decision not to, he never pouted and just went out and played.

Rev - I'm assuming you've worked for the same company your entire life?

And I can tell all of the Benaga fans are FM players - he's a legend on there!

On Radio Humberside after Hull City's game today, 'Burnsy' the presenter (as he's known) seemed to think Brown is in for Khizanishvili - he asked Brown live on air and he paused and gave out a slow, maybe-type "nnn-no", so could be something there, trying to keep it quiet?

Warnock was a sulky brat when (heaven forbid i mention his name) ince put him back to left back after being playing in midfield at pompey game 2 if not 3 of their goals came from there right side and i remember peds asking warnock wtf he was doing after 1 goal and warnock shrugged .

I saw the attitude he had then and i cant say that if he goes i will be sad, unless the money doesnt get used to bring in some help for centre mid area.

Football has certainly changed where the player has become more important than the club.

I watched the film the damned united this morn a kind of biography about brian clough and wondered how he would have fettled walking into a prem side nowadays, my conclusions made me chuckle.

This whole Warnock business has left me feeling sick ... more so for our standing in the competition these days as anything else.

It's one thing when a cash cow like Citeh come in for Santa for stupid money but to lose an average player like Warnock to Villa who themselves have lost Barry just spells out how little clout and how far back in the queue we are these days.

And we all know if we eventually sell the big sook, we won't see a cent of it spent on any sort of a quality replacement.

Self inflicting as well. Our standards have dropped.

Absolutely correct, but what can we do?

We have to sell our best players to survive at this level, and continue to buy cheap replacements in the hope that they more than make the grade so we can eventually sell them for a big profit too. And so it will continue for the time being. Let's hope we can carry on doing it for a while yet.

Who knows, the bubble may burst soon, and we'll be in a good position.

Is every judgement based on one game these days?

No, he looked pretty good when he came on in their last game too. (I'm reserving judgement on Kalinic).

To elbaborate further on the above point, I can't believe more people haven't embraced the fact that we are selling a 'good' player for close to twice his 'proper' value.

I think you might be right there!

Actually, Charlie, I first noticed him playing in a u20 tournament for his country. Head and shoulders above everyone else on the field on that occasion.

Not necessarily an effective Premier League player though, and certainly not on loan for a year at his age. But exciting signing all the same.

Nothing about Warnock in the papers.

Personally, Id think after the injury to Nelsen it would be a very stupid decision to sell him now.

Emerton is coming back and Grella too, maybe even Dunn within a week or two, so we may give those guys a shot in central midfield sooner rather than later, but if we sell Warnock, Givet moves to left back and we become bare to our bones in central defence.

The decision to leave Warnock at home has in a way forced us to play an injured player. I'm not assigned blame to him as I do not know what was said or has happened.

We must keep hold of Warnock now, Olsson's not ready. Sam just doesn't rate Kish at all, I don't understand why?? But if he did he would have played him instead of the recovering Nelsen. Stevie stays now hopefully if he goes now then I smell the B.A.N.K manager.

I never knew that as a keeper if I dive into players I get a foul?

Klanic, looks like he's got two left feet. Lets hope that was just debut nerves and a lack of acclimatisation because he had three good chances and did worse than Roberts with all of them.

One thing's for sure, if we're not playing Warnock then I'd keep Givet at LB and bring in Zurab at CB. Olsson is an utter liability.

I'd rather play Zurab than Warnock any day! Much much better defender. Lets just grab the cash and get Tuncay in quick!

Nicko, what's the latest on Warnock, Sam says a bid hasn't been accepted. What's the truth?

A bid has yet to be accepted...trying to squeeze Villa for every last drop.

However Friday's events have soured things between the manager and the player.

I would still reckon this gets done in the next day or so, but it may cost Villa a bit more than they wanted.

Not necessarily a bad thing.

Have I missed something? What happened on Friday?
