Hughesy Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Ajax confirmed on TV that they want à new striker in before the Window closes. Their main targets are Alves and Benni. Would you sell him - and if so how much for?

WHere did you see this? Hard to see how we can let Benni go given the lack of experience we have. With Di Santo and Kalanic around I can see Benni getting a few as they will put in the yards for him and create space.
Sparky Marky Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 10 goals in 63 premiership games? In 2007-2008 he scored 9 goals from 14 starts and 16 subs appearences....and they tended to be important goals, last minute winners, etc....I feel we have missed him for the last 18 months...
Guest ErinBrown Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Ajax confirmed on TV that they want à new striker in before the Window closes. Their main targets are Alves and Benni. Sell Benni - Bring in Tuncay. Sell Warnock - Bring in left back and Lucas Biglia... Okay i can dream!
herbergeehh Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Didn't hear much about Matty when Roberts created all sorts of trouble in the multi-milllion pounds City defence last week. Didn't score, and I'm as baffled as anyone else - he does all the hard things, but can't finish it off. Overall he's miles ahead of Derbyshire for the team though, I would think most of the central defenders in the league would agree to that. PLEASE don't start that one again, it's dead and buried.
Torgeir Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Huseklepp to Everton or Blackburn? VG linking us to Norwegian forward Erik Huseklepp. Have you heard anything about this, nicko? Possible Benni replacement perhaps? He's had a good season for Brann this year after having been a fring player in previous seasons. 24 years old.
vyeo Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Would be delighted if we got bentley back with the warnock cash. However, I fear the more realistic situation will be we sell warnock, bring in rothen, and the rest of the money disappears somewhere... no doubt to the bank.
unluckymorton Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Sell Benni - Bring in Tuncay. Sell Warnock - Bring in left back and Lucas Biglia... Okay i can dream! If Carlsberg made transfers....

Way to lightweight, and a player which is to often on/off. Not one for the present, maybe for the future.
spencey7 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Has Allardyce actually said anywhere that he's planning on spending any prospective money on a central-midfielder?
mark1875 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 just reading liverpool forum and it posed the good question about a sell on clause for warnock, anyone know if there is one http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/ff-foo...41-warnock.html
alexanders Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Considering Benni's age I would sell. It is a very big risk, but I would take it.
Carlos090 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Its all good I hear Roberto Carlos is coming in on a free at £80,000 a week as a replacement for Warnock.. hes only 36 'amezin deal'!!
alexjw Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Sam on Skysports saying that the easy part is letting warnock go... the hard part is getting at least 1, if not 2, players in before he lets him go Any ideas ?

Didn't he say 1 if not 2 players to replace/stand in for Warnock and Nelsen respectively? Would love it if we could bring a solid center midfielder though.
Sparky Marky Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 We need Distin and Barton....if not Distin, I'd like Bouma in part-ex with Villa for Warnock....

He´ll be found out as soon as he moves abroad.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 If we let Warnock go and don't sign a central midfielder I will go mental. Honestly. Is Nelsen out for a long time? Surely we could pick up a foreign centre back or left back (or even both) on loan for the year whilst bringing in a centre mid???? Would have thought we'd be making much more use of potential loan deals under Allardyce.
The Rover of Finland Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Bouma is a great call. Think Villa pays him a lot though. What about Onouha. Lescott comes and he won´t get chanches as a CD. After Richards is Zabaleta before him at right side. They also have De Jong and Kompany without regular first team football. Kompany is injured though. Warnock will be gone eventualy and we need to use that money wisely. But we really need to use it. Not a single word of Nelsen´s situation!! Nicko, anyone?
tcj_jones Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Yeah, I agree with Joey. I'll go absolutely mental if we let Warnock go and fail to bring in a CM. I'll be even more hacked off if we let him go for anything less than £10m.
Tom 1 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 We'd never sell Bouma, plus you really don't want him at the moment. It's never good when a players injury stretches months longer than it was supposed to, constant set backs to his rehab. I was there the day he snapped his ankle, I said that day he'd never play another first team game for us again, and if you believe rumours that could be right.
spencey7 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 a fit midfielder would be a way forward (like BENTLEY) There are a great many reasons that Bentley won't be making a return to Ewood Park - the main one being that there's no way Allardyce will drop his golden boy Diouf.
