spencey7 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 It's true, apparently he posts under the name of spencey7. Rumbled.

mick Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 If I were JW, I'd be looking for you, Balwer, after that comment.
Balwer Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 If I were JW, I'd be looking for you, Balwer, after that comment. Since I have spencey on ignore I can't read his reply, although I am sure it's the usual positive and cheerful stuff!
67splitscreen Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 It's not a rumour that JW reads this messageboard, it is fact. I spoke with him personally outside the main office entrance in July and he told me himself that he reads this site. He also told me that he couldn't believe the speculation and the "certainty" that some posters claimed about salaries of players. He was quite emphatic about how wide of the mark some were with their claims about "private and legal contracts". Hope that clears it up for you. I personally remember your original post, most interesting but in the case of some people, their agenda would be best served with maximum exposer, maybe Waggy and Spency could do a double act. Most entertaining I'm sure.
Mandrake Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Can someone post the link to the sam interview ? Cannot find it : - /
rovers1995 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 It will hit home that Warnock has gone tonight when he gets unveiled before their UEFA cup game. Nicko, is Van De Meyde still training with Rovers because I know there down at Ewood again today?
super_arran Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 "My aim" is to hold our club's management to account for decisions which will only take the club backwards! You CANNOT sell someone for £7m, replace them with a £1.5m journeyman and expect the squad to be anything but WEAKER. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. If we stand back and swallow this crap we'll be in the Championship before we know it. Take off the blue-and-white tinted specs and your "SAM IS GOD" t-shirt - We're falling apart. Wasn't Givet signed as the original replacement for when Warnock went? I seem to remember at the start of the transfer window that we were planning on selling him to bring funds in because no-one thought Man City would come in for Roque so early? So technically Chimbonda isn't the replacement at all, we already had one...its not rocket science
modes98 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 But I do recall Sam saying there would be no more business after Salgado...and Warnock left while Pascal checked in. But that wasn't an expected event. Had there been no offer then I guess that would have been it. I'm worried that we are 1 or 2 bodies short if we are done.

Jackson Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Although Warnock obviously handed in a transfer request, I for one would be absolutely amazed if the big man would let him go without firm assurances that he would land a sizable percentage of the money to reinvest in the squad. Amazed. I think BS would have preferred to put him on the bench, personally, if he were not to profit from the wantaway.

Hughesy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 From all recent media appearances he seems on the brink of suicide and accepting of our inevitable fate - how can we expect to survive in the Premier League with this attitude?!? We need someone to talk up the squad, extol the virtues of all that is great with our club, to aim high and to "have a go" - even against the top teams. I dread to think what it will be like bearing witness to three total capitulations in a month come October (vs Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd). What utter tosh. Sam doesnt seem to enjoy doing press conferences, he never has seemed to enjoy them. Id rather sam talked down our chances and then we play well than talk us up and then we get beat 4-0. No point talking a team up and then get stuffed is there, bigger fall and all that. Against City we were unlucky - they have alot of attacking players yet we caused them as many problems, if not more. You seem to think fate is that we will get relegated.....care to put some money on that?
Rainmaker Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Right. So who would you rather have at Blackburn? A player that doesn't want to leave
Hughesy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 no use keeping players who want to leave, rsc prime example Agree totally
nicko Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 But that wasn't an expected event. Had there been no offer then I guess that would have been it. I'm worried that we are 1 or 2 bodies short if we are done. No, it was. Villa had opened the bidding for Warnock and Sam knew it...he said he wouldn't be sacrificed to get Salgado...I remember it well..I asked the question. All these quotes prove is that things change all of the time. I think there could yet be movement before this window shuts. Nicko, is Van De Meyde still training with Rovers because I know there down at Ewood again today? Got to say I forgot to ask...I think he has gone...if he was still around he would surely play for the stiffs tonight to show his fitness and put himself in the shop window.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 There's a video on the top of this page with Sam talking about transfers: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5516749,00.html Have to say he looks very miserable and downbeat...
The Prof. Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Got to say I find the 'no more signings' bit rather hard to believe or understand...but it is the 'line' coming out of all departments. Odd, to say the least. But I do recall Sam saying there would be no more business after Salgado...and Warnock left while Pascal checked in. I can't see how they can want a left back yesterday and then none today. Maybe there are messages being sent to selling clubs that they won't get big fees for their players. Maybe another plug has been pulled. We will have to wait and see. Waddya mean another plug has been pulled? And how many plugs can you pull at a club like Rovers without the water draining away?
Muddboy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just seen the Sam interview and I think he's telling porkies when he says there won't be any more business in this window. I'm no expert on body language but he always has a wry smile when he dismisses 'challenging' questions and that's exactly what he was like when he dismissed any interest in the lad from Borough. I expect a bit more to happen before Tuesday.
niggit Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Had to laugh with the salgado question, don't think he could be botherd talking lol
benhben Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Stoke are reportedly offering £11m for Tuncay and Huth in a combined deal. If so we should seriously look at Tuncay to add some much needed creativity and flair to our attacking options. Do we really need another full back when we have Salgado, Jackobsen, Emerton, Givet and olsson? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_5516749,00.html Sam seems to have seen his arse in this video!

The Prof. Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 QUOTE (modes98 @ Aug 27 2009, 15:13 ) * But that wasn't an expected event. Had there been no offer then I guess that would have been it. I'm worried that we are 1 or 2 bodies short if we are done. I don't think we're short of bodies, we're short of fit/quality bodies. We need to get rid of a good 6-7 players off the wage bill in my opinion then the wages don't keep swallowing all the transfer money. get rid of 2-3 and the wage demands will start dropping soon enough too. Transfers out should be a priority.
