Brad - wanted away

RSC - Wanted away

Warnock - Wanted away

Ooijer - Wanted away

Derbs - Wanted away

Are these the characters we want?

Sooner have players who are happy to play here.

I don't see how the squad is worse than last season.

Remember we had no regular right-back, Andrews was a fixture in centre mid and played several games alongside Mokoena and we had to resort to Samba up front on his own on occasion.

It could be better but as we are £15M better off it could be much worse.

Im not saying we should have kept them....

Im saying they were our best players, There is no doubting that.

In Sam we trust! ;)

If Salgado plays on sat we have had it. he looks about 40 stone and moves like an o.a.p. He needs at least 3 weeks with the ressies.

I think he looks physically fit because he has a stocky figure anyway but I agree that he doesn't look match fit yet. I think he's playing well though considering he's out of position as well and coming up a quick forward line.

Doesn't the transfer window close a few days from now?

If so, and as it looks like after selling everyone we still have not bought a decent central midfielder...well I don't know what to say to be honest. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me how we have allowed this to happen again.

Apparently Sam has told sky that he is going to be out of the country on Tuesday, if that is true I can't see any further activity.

He pointed out earlier that with the internationals, that realistically, Friday was the close of the window this summer.

We don't know what's happening with the money, sam might be planning on keeping some back for january or he might suprise us all with a last minute signing.

If history is a precedent, lets not get our hopes high.

I believe if nicko is right about the late change of plans, its a matter of us pulling the plug on a left back deal which could have been Taylor, and Sam being forced to rush Salgado in a position which wasnt his what he wanted him for.

The reality is depressing but there is nothing that can be done about it. Unless we have a wealthy owner we will be in this state for the forseeable future.

On a sidenote, nicko Bayern say they have bid for Robben. Are you telling me United will not move for the guy? I cant believe that with all the money they have and the obvious need for one quality signing, they wont move for a player who will cost only 20 million Euros.

I'm looking forward to watching sky Sports News on tueday night hoping for a surprise even though I know really one isn't coming.

We can still hope.

Totally agree 100 per cent with the above..

Whilst I'm not saying we are doomed,we can forget about coming within a sniff of the top 12.

No matter what Sam has said I refuse to believe he has stopped looking for opportunities to bring in new faces, if something presents itself he will surely go and test the boards resistance

Maybe he's waiting till end of play tuesday to put a low offer in for taylor , it also gives him the opportunity to watch someone else play left back on saturday, i know olsson doesn't have many fans on here , but selling a first teamer for big bucks and replacing "from within" is a model that clubs like arsenal and ajax have been doing , i would love blackburn to be able to produce and/or find young talent to do that

Someone mentioned that Big Sam is off on a mini-break on Tuesday but that doesn't stop John Williams sealing the deals. I'm assuming by Tuesday we will know for sure who we want or whether we've finished purchasing or selling for the window.

I've got a feeling that the club are relying on Reid, Grella and Dunn getting fit and hoping that they will play a main part in the squad soon because i'm sure we would have got a replacement in if they were all injured for a few more months.

Also I may have missed this buts whats the official word on where the money from the Gallagher sale and wages is going?

Surely Warnock and Gallaghers combined wages equal that of Chimbonda / Salgado so could that not have been put towards a midfielders wages?

Posted

I agree, I think it's pretty obvious now that N'Zonzi was the only CM addition we were going to make and that Sam, with such limited finances, was always going to have to rely on the fitness of Emerton, Dunn, Grella and Reid.

i am sure we will get the dunn reid and emo " are like new signings" quote at some point

Still wondering what sort of fee we got for Warnock, a derogatory 4m seemed to be the initial bid but all the talk seemed like we wanted at least 7-8m and the majority of it upfront. Pesky undisclosed fees!!

I'd guess that we got around the 7m we wanted with it potentially rising to 8m or so but you never know at the moment, wouldn't be that surprised if it was lower.

Stop posting, you're no good at it.

:wstu:

The one thing i see with sam, which i certinaly didnt see with hughes or ince is that he wants to be here.

 You do know who Sam Allardyce is, don't you...?! The guy who couldn't fathom the fact he was overlooked for the England job? If you think for even a second that he has one shred of loyal to Blackburn Rovers then you are sorely mistaken. He would get the first bus out of here if any other Premier League club would touch him - but they won't. His tactics have had their day, he's been found out. The sooner the board realises that the better the chance we have of staying up.

I'm very much looking forward to the season now.

It speaks volumes about your "support" and anticipation of the season (which started two weeks ago) when you only feel the need to declare it in a reactionary manner to my own personal dislike of Sam Allardyce and all that he stands for.

But this is in the wrong thread - Any reply to this post for me ebenrocks?

Colin Murray reckons Warnock went for £6m...they're talking to him after the break.....

Warnock will know as much as Murray or anyone else on here. The only people that know the fee is the club. Undisclosed is a good way to mask your money.

Just hope Sam's playing it very cool and has a good buy up his sleeve.

Not a cat in hells chance.

I'd like to hear where the money has gone this time..with the RSC/Derbyshire sales we were told half had gone on the overdraft..what will it be this time??

so far this window, how much have been spent and how much earned through player sales..?

Spent

£9,952,000

Earned

£28,500,000 ( assuming Warnock went for 7mill )

Of course Warnock will know as his agents will be getting a portion of the fee.

He is watching the Villa game and after the first penalty miss he had a disappointed shake of the head as if he has been there for years. Next to him was a greasy bald goateed man who I reckon was his agent.
