i find it ridiculous that one of the posters a few pages back was slamming sam, saying he`d be sussed out despite the fact we dominated against a 200m pound team in man city, pummeled ALSO BIG SPENDING sunderland AWAY from home and but for horrendous bad fortune/finishing would have won both games, or at least drawn them(that`s before mentioning we did this with a injury hit side). when was the last time rovers put so much pressure on sides in that fashion in games, particulary away from home? under dalglish with shearer and sutton up front i`d suggest.

if you want to point the finger at a manager who`s style appears to have been sussed out, then look no further than steven warnock`s new club. their record in the second half of last season, continuing in to this(barring the anfield win) has been relegation form. if that pattern continues(which going off tonight`s euro exit, it could), then warnock may be getting a new manager soon, and who`s to say he`ll stop their slide with randy lerner no longer willing to finance `galactico` level signings?

rovers and sam are positvely made for each other, his style of football matches what people in this area want to see, a team that works as hard as possible to defy the odds and keep our overacheivement success story going. as i`ve said before, if you want to see puffy brazilians/portuguese doing a tap dance around a football, only putting in effort when they feel up to it on the day, then old trafford and the c.o.m.s are just 20 miles down the road.

i`m delighted sam allardyce is blackburn rovers manager, and i hope he`s here for a long time yet.

We undoubtedly have transfer money to spend, we just need to make room on the wage bill for someone else.

Benni? Dunn? Reid? Grella? Zurab?

I can't think of any others who could leave and give us sizeable leeway for a good new signing without taking much away from the strength of the first team for one reason or another.

If we could get rid of all the crocks we have on the wage bill, we'd be laughing!

Who was the interview with I can't seem to find it anywhere?

Channel 5, just before the start of the second half. It was only about 2 or 3 mins. Basically just if he was looking forward to his bright career ahead and glad to be leaving us behind, and he wasn't having any of it. Said he loved his time here and felt it was to good an opportunity to pass up on.

Sam replied "no, that's it" when asked about futher incoming players but looked to the left at the same time.

People will look in this direction when CONSTRUCTING an image or sound. Looking to the right, however, suggests thinking or an attempt to REMEMBER an image or sound.

In other words he was fabricating his response. Let's hope he gets his man/men............................. :P

Well, that's conclusive.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Benni went and a midfielder came in. I think Sam will eventually settle with the 4-2-3-1 system we played against Gillingham, so having Roberts, Kalinic and Di Santo fighting over the one spot would be fine.

Getting rid of McCarthy would make a lot of room in the wage bill for a creative player to play as the attacking central midfielder. It wouldn't exactly leave us short of strikers either as Hoilett could easily partner any of the remaining three if we wanted to go 4-4-2.

I agree with you Lechuck, and was thinking the same thing.

Getting rid of McCarthy would allow us to bring in a decent midfielder to play the "1" spot. McCarthy must be on a fair wage and isn't getting any better or younger. I am well aware of Benni's goalscoring ability.

I like Chimbonda and think he will be a good signing, but why the hell do we need him? Emerton,Jacobsen,Salgado all pretty good right backs. CHIMBONDA IS A RIGHT BACK. Doesn't make any sense.

Sneaky suspicion Barton will be our Deadline day signing.

Roll on Saturday.

Warnocks a ######.

I was just thinking do players never learn, I number of payers have left rovers for so called better club, and there have found out that the greem is far from greener, in fact sometimes its full of mud.

I was trying to recall which players have moved on to better things and I cannot recall many if none at all, Rovers players take the above on board :D

In this morning's Lancashire Telegraph, Sam has said that he has now spent all of his budget, so he won't be allowed to bring in any more players (be it signings, free transfers or loans). I get the impression the Sam is not a happy chappy at the moment.

Maybe he's just saying it as it is. I'm sure he knew how the transfer system would work at Ewood, that will have been discussed when he signed. I don't think he's unhappy, frustrated at times maybe but that comes with the job.

Dont think Sam is the only unhappy chappy -

Its all well and good having cheep season tickets - but the transfer dealings of this summer are puzzling to say the least.

If true, then pro rata that is the worst backing a board has given a manager since the 80's.

He's done well then.

Well, if that's true his budget was around minus 12million!!

Whatever way you look at it, City have saved us big time.

Yes, unless you believe our resident body language experts.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So we're selling a left footed left back and we're signing just chimbonda witha profit of 6M. I'm still waiting till the end of the window but currently I'm spitting. We're weaker than last year IMO.

I wouldn't be either if my club gave me a negative budget.

Not many spring to mind. Duff for a few years at Chelsea is the obvious one - became a different type of player when he left us and won a few trophies. He was never the main man like he was with us though. After that, I'm struggling for another obvious one in recent-ish times.
