Mr. E Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Robinson passed like a lamp-post. Couldn't have made it easier for Jones.

mogster Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Any news on Di Santo's injury? They said it was a hamstring on Rovers World. That'll be 4-6 weeks.
HemelRover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 They said it was a hamstring on Rovers World. That'll be 4-6 weeks. He jogged off the pitch. Its probably a tweak.
KoNG Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 The crossing and delivery of Jacobson isn't as neat as last week...... MGP definitely more lively this season.
hollowsr Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Alex Marrow scores for Oldham, good day for the loan stars
mogster Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 He jogged off the pitch. Its probably a tweak. I hope so. He went straight off for an ice bath - jammy git!
Exiled_Rover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I hope so. He went straight off for an ice bath - jammy git! I take it you've never had an ice bath then...
philipl Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Not seen any action but the beeb are blaming Samba for the equaliser.
mogster Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I take it you've never had an ice bath then... The only ice anywhere near my bath is in my Martini.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Cattermole and Cana going in very hard. Cana especially is a right nutcase.
Mr. E Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Once again we completely dominated the first half and don't come out with the lead. Only chance for Sunderland and our defenders fall sleep, Robinson passed like a schoolboy and 1-1. Not sure what else we can do. Hopefully one of the big chances next half falls to Kalinic.
Balwer Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Once again we completely dominated the first half and don't come out with the lead. Only chance for Sunderland and our defenders fall sleep, Robinson passed like a schoolboy and 1-1. That was all on the defence not Robbo matey. He's out of his area so he can't dive on the thing. Just great touch by Jones.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Decent first half performance, worried about our central midfield a bit though they seem to drive through pretty easily when they want to. Perhaps bring on Grella in the second half in place of Andrews? Kalinic has shown some decent movement, he had 1 real chance but hit air and should have at least tested the keeper.
braddock Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 pleased with the first half. dodgy goal but plenty of time left. no need to worry
Manc Rover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Not seen any action but the beeb are blaming Samba for the equaliser. [/quote Samba and Robinson both responsible. Just put it on a plate for them to score really. Samba's not had the best of starts to the season has he!

He rushed right into the striker and got lobbed by a single touch. In such situations you're supposed to make yourself big and force the striker to try and find a way around you.
doctorryan Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Is anyone, besides those of us in North America, getting this one on the tele?
hollowsr Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I think their goal is a very good ball by Malbranque which has back spin on or it just holds up and that fools Robinson. Samba should have done better really Is anyone, besides those of us in North America, getting this one on the tele? We're all watching it legally on telly Are you accusing us of watching it illegally on the net somewhere??

In such situations you're supposed to make yourself big and force the striker to try and find a way around you. Agree he could have timed his run better, but he was put in that situation by a Samba fresh airy when any contact on the ball would have done.
BuckyRover Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Also, if he makes himself "big", he it has a chance of hitting his hand and him being sent off. No way was it Robinson's fault
joey_big_nose Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Very good performance from us. Their goal was really the result of a weak throw by Jackobsen really which left us well short at the back. Kalanic is a bigger lad than I thought! Quite similar in stature and build to Cruz. I would probably bring on either Grella or Emerton for Andrews. Preferably Emerton if he is fit enough. I would like to see Hoilett at some point.
Martin Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Great opening 30 minutes. Simple and direct. Corner after corner. Equaliser was soft. Samba and Robbo made it easy for him. Sunderland won't be as poor second half. Goals left in this.
modes98 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Please don't discuss streaming. It is not worth getting a 7 day ban for is it! Good first half. They got lucky with a single attack. Just got to hope we can keep it up all second half.

Sam could be worried about bringing Grella or Emerton on, Cana and Cattermole both on yellows and really putting the tackles in.
