Stuart Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 This is a brilliant deal, but i believe the intrinsic values of handing over a £20 and a £10 will deter people. Yes, i know it is more money than the 3 for £20 offer but people associate numbers with whether to spend their cash or not. It is proven that anything with a 9 in feels larger than a 2 (yes it is) but someone will part with their cash more easily if it was £22 than they would if it was £19 (this is from empirical evidence). I don't think this will be a success, but a great effort. 2 for £20 would have gone down better i think with an option to queue jump for tickets when the Burnley game goes on sale. If we offer 2 for £20 then away fans could buy into that deal just to go to their game. Then they wouldn't have to pay £30+ for a single. This deal is clearly arranged to suit home fans. It's also £10 for juniors and £20 for concessions. FOR 3 PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES!!! It'll be a sad indictment of the apathy in Blackburn and the surrounding population if the Darwen End isn't full for these 3 fixtures. When you take into account the unreserved seating, at these prices, the club can't do any more to respond to the needs of it's fans. AND NO OTHER CLUB DOES.

It's a bloody miracle we muster over 20000 home fans a game with our demographics.
Stuart Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Apathy? You serious? It's a bloody miracle we muster over 20000 home fans a game with our demographics. Yes I'm serious. I disagree that we shouldn't expect over 20,000 fans per home game AT THE PRICES BEING OFFERED.
Mattyblue Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Yes I'm serious. I disagree that we shouldn't expect over 20,000 fans per home game AT THE PRICES BEING OFFERED. I'd like more, we can probably get more, but Blackburn is anything but 'Apathetic' it's just a small town with a sizeable community that on the whole has very little interest in Rovers. should we be targeting more outlying areas? Definitely, that's the only answer if we want to keep increasing our gates.
Ben-2000 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Yes I'm serious. I disagree that we shouldn't expect over 20,000 fans per home game AT THE PRICES BEING OFFERED. Agree 100%. We had around 22,000 Rovers fans in the ground for the first game against City, thats 18,500 ST holders plus 3,500 walk on's at full price. It would be a disappointment if we couldn't better that with the Crucial 3 offer.
roversWASmylife Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Could you not got one with a friend and they can attend the other 2? If Villa is Cat A, then it could end up costing £36 just for the 1 ticket anyway! All my mates either have season tickets or can't go, already spoke about this.
67splitscreen Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 In answer to hughsey queastion "has anyone on here taken up the offer" yes I did the day of release and several on RoversMad have also.

WTF!.....we are one of the best supported teams in the country per head of population. How the hell does your comment make any sense Mattyblue?.
AndyNeil Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 it amazes me that some people on this website cannot see that: A lots of people work saturday, B some people don't like football and C some people who live in and around Blackburn don't support BRFC ..... for lots of people in BwD and beyond there is more to life than Ewood Park
Mattyblue Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 WTF!.....we are one of the best supported teams in the country per head of population. How the hell does your comment make any sense Mattyblue?. that's exactly what I'm saying SG, I hate seeing posts that call Blackburners 'Apathetic', the gates we get are superb, but we can't keep getting more and more fans out of Blackburn itself, well we can, but the day the Asian population get an interest in Rovers in any decent numbers are a long way off.

Hate all you like. I stand by my comment. There are enough people in and around Blackburn to fill the ground. We managed it at the end of last season. I'm sick of reading posts where people whinge about the club not doing enough. Some people even moaning about 150 season tickets and 3 for 30 not being good enough. The club can do no more in my eyes, it's now over to the fans to step up. We've done it before, we can do it again. For the record Matty, I'm a Blackburner too.
Hughesy Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 it amazes me that some people on this website cannot see that: A lots of people work saturday, B some people don't like football and C some people who live in and around Blackburn don't support BRFC ..... for lots of people in BwD and beyond there is more to life than Ewood Park Ahhh but there shouldnt be I know lots of people that no longer go (not because they work saturdays & not because they dont like football) - just simply because they have stopped going over the last few years!
bubblerrovers Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Got mine today, any idea how the offer has gone down anyone????
Hughesy Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Not sure we have any fans left to buy any...they all seem to be stood on a railway line or looking over the edge of the stairs with a noose around thier necks! Looking at the online plan - we have sold a few, although it still only looks like half of the bottom will be full with Rovers fans........
AndyNeil Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I'm pretty sure the club said that the whole of the botom tier will be open regardless of sales for the match ... I wonder they they will offer 2 for £20 if (as expected) this offer doesn't sell out for Saturday?
DaveyB Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Is there anyone who has taken up this offer, but can't make the West Ham game this Saturday? I've got a friend staying for the weekend who wouldn't mind coming along, but won't pay £29 (he's not a rovers fan) and won't be around for the other 2 games. If you can help out - or even if you can only make 1 of the other games and fancy going halves on the deal (£15 each is better than £29 per game) - let me know asap. Cheers.
AggyBlue Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Not sure we have any fans left to buy any...they all seem to be stood on a railway line or looking over the edge of the stairs with a noose around thier necks! Don't be like that Hughsey, it's only a few numpties on here. You know the crowd down Ewood on Saturday will be 100% behind them.
Hughesy Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Ha sorry. 1200 Darwen End ST's sold, 500 tickets snapped up for the 3 for £30 deal. Need at least another 1000-1500 to sell ideally. Text message to be sent out soon I believe. Spread the word.............
AndyNeil Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 S/T must be between 18750 - 19000 now? Many cancelled after the MCFC match?
Hughesy Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Not got an overall figure - but we were at around 1000 when I was told we had hit 18,500 ish. Hopefully the half ST's will take us over 19k.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Does anyone know when the tickets for the Wolves game go on sale for the other parts of the ground?
Ben-2000 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Still 3 full days of sales left before Saturday, Rovers fans are well known for buying last minute so fingers crossed we can get a few in the JW side of the DE.
AndyNeil Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I've just got a text from Rovers saying "Act fast, limited numbers" ... so they are either selling well, or just a bluff to try and stimulate interest and a buying rush?

See above buddy - hoping to make a few more realise the GREAT deal the club are offering and hook a few more in.
gazsimm Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 with this offer for the next 3 games, plus the cheap season ticket prices, we should be at least getting 28000 for the next 3 home games. I don't know how much more the club can do if not.
