roversfan1 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 lol.. you are a misery mate.. this thread is just one of the reasons we signed him.. he is a legend in football and we all know at 33 he is not going to be the same player he once was, but he will give us considerable experience, a boost for the team/fans, a tutor for our now young squad of players, a profile lift for the club (to attract players and fans) and I don't think anyone has ever complained about his passion for the game or his work rate. There have been plenty of great footballers who continued to play way beyond 33 (remember Tugay still had a great season for us at 35.. and no not counting last season) and I think Salgado certainly has the legs to keep playing for the next two seasons. As for where he will play, I reckon he could play in quite a few different positions but until he is out on the pitch we just wont know, I know he played as mainly a right back but he has in the past played in a variety of other positions (CB, RM, DM, LB to name a few) and Sam has historically not been scared to move players into new positions to suit his needs and his players skills. And yes he only played 9 games for one of the worlds biggest clubs last season, but remember he was second choice at right back behind Ramos one of the worlds best players.. So well done Sam, fingers crossed this one works out for us. So if you don't like this thread go find another thread and whinge there, there is not much we can say about him until he gets out on the pitch. Well said that man!

From what i gather the vast majority of games he played were at right back, so obviously there is a reason why he plays there. Has anyone actually seen him play in midfield? And if so how did he do? Unless he is being brought in to play midfield i am finding it hard to see why we have signed him.
AggyBlue Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Salgado just been on SSN with Sam. He probably speaks better English than him too. He called us Blackburn Rovers too, not just Blackburn His English is very good, always a bonus when giving out rollockings to team mates.
Al Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Sorry i can't agree, especially with our limited finances. People are well entitled to cream their pants with the signing of Salgado if they wish, personally i just think its a poor decision by Sam. Well aware i may be wrong and may have to put my hands up over this issue, i hope others do the same if we end up in the lower half of the table due to an injury plagued midfield and wish we took the opportunity to bring in a midfielder when we had the chance. Make sure you fasten your belt before you hold your hands up or your pants may fall down. We didn't have the chance to sign a midfielder of any quality. Remember Saldago is on a free (unless you can show me the free quality midfielder.)
T4E Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Still talking garbage I see, maybe well get some sense after he's actually kicked a ball for us. Seriously, why are you being like that?
blue and whites Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 i can't understand how some people are saying salgado is not that good anymore, he has just played 17 matches in the last two years. tell me, how many right-backs in the world would have been first option at right back, if the team had sergio ramos already in that position? it's not that many, so it's not strange he hasn't played that much. think he would be a great buy, trust sam!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 He says the word "blood" about 5 times per sentence on the official site interviews. Welcome to Ewood, you mentalist.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Seriously, why are you being like that? If you've got the time read through the small mountain of ###### this thread has become. I prefer to talk about what players actually do out on the pitch not what they may do in the fevered imaginings of spotty youths.
T4E Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Then don't read it? After you'd made your mind up that the thread is a mountain of ######, and posted to that affect a few pages ago, why come back a couple of days later to read it and make the same point again? Just don't click on it. Its not difficult.
American Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Once asked a girl "who's the best?" while we were in the throes of passion. She said Michel Salgado. I was not offended.
trs Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Once asked a girl "who's the best?" while we were in the throes of passion. She said Michel Salgado. I was not offended. Is it humanly possible for any woman to even consider another man after "having" Michel Salgado.

After you'd made your mind up that the thread is a mountain of ######, and posted to that affect a few pages ago, why come back a couple of days later to read it and make the same point again? Just don't click on it. Its not difficult. Obviously there'll come at time when most people will tire of all the bullshit and move on to matters relating to his actual abilities. I come back on from time to time in the hope that we've reached that point. It's a bit too early I suppose.
Flopsy Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Michel Salgardo agrees, and that is why he decided to take Stuart Broad's place in the England team this afternoon
Hi Mack Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 When Salgado does press ups......He pushes down the world!
The1mattjansen Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Does anyone know a decent tatoo artist in Lancashire? Im thinking about getting Salgado's face tatoo'd over mine.

I prefer to talk about what players actually do out on the pitch not what they may do in the fevered imaginings of spotty youths. Get a grip. People on here are hardly "spotty youths", and assuming it is merely imagination is a complete underestimation of Salgado's capabilities.
Brfcrule1 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 hi all, just a thought when Salgado was at Celta Vigo was Benny there at the same time if so maybe he could get Benny McDonalds to shed some pounds will only be good for the team.
Lurid Coat Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Ronaldo is a Rover! From The Sun: "Michel Salgado has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo helped talk him into swapping Real Madrid for Blackburn. "
Big Fat Sam Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 hi all, just a thought when Salgado was at Celta Vigo was Benny there at the same time if so maybe he could get Benny McDonalds to shed some pounds will only be good for the team. Benni doesn't eat at Mackie D's, he owns his own Pie shop.
S15 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Ronaldo is a Rover! From The Sun: "Michel Salgado has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo helped talk him into swapping Real Madrid for Blackburn. " More @#/? from the sun. Michel Salgado thinks Ronaldo is a right c**t. The only time they spoke in Madrid was when Salgado told him he's gonna eat his mums limbs, for a laugh. Fact.
