67splitscreen Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 It seems there is a lack of creativity/quality missing, not just only in the team. Chimbonda, Samba, Olsson, EVH, Diouf, N'Zonzi, Roberts, McCarthy, Hoilett and Blackman, why single out Chimbonda for this chant. Have I missed something?.

The Prof. Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I'm guessing ur looking at 'racist remark'? But 'Chimbonda's got bananas on his feet' is no better at all and we ALL sang that! You will get into terrible trouble for this and a lifetime ban. Could you change it to carrots? I think that would be okay.
American Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 If he wears orange boots then change it to carrots. Otherwise, what does yellow boots looking like bananas have to do with race? So f-ing sensitive.
j166429 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 In France they used to sing Na Na Na Na Na CHIMBONDA, Na Na Na Na Na Na CHIMBONDA - To the tune of the music in the chiouaoua coca-cola advert)

sambo Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 No doubt it will be "clap clap clap clap clap Pascal Chimbonda...." I didn't hear the Chimbonda 'banana' chant from the BBE...
mellison24 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 No doubt it will be "clap clap clap clap clap Pascal Chimbonda...." I didn't hear the Chimbonda 'banana' chant from the BBE... well me and about 50 others got into it. And i'm deaf...i heard it hahaha
neekoy Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I thought it meant he couldn't get traction, anywho...
waggy Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 really impressed with this guy,s debut, seemed a bit right footed but we never missed warnock
mellison24 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 really impressed with this guy,s debut, seemed a bit right footed but we never missed warnock have we turned a corner with you? You said something WORTH saying!!!
47er Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 On the basis of that first game Chimbonda looks a much more accomplished player than Warnock. I was really impressed.
den Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 If we can get him over to right back, we should have a talented player here.
roverich Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 If we can get him over to right back, we should have a talented player here. I agree but that will leave a gaping hole at left back and having just signed Salgado whilst Emerton is returning to fitness, we've gone from no options to too many options. When Bentley left the answer was not to sign umpteen mediocre central midfield players (we saw the proof of this already) and likewise (whilst I'm not saying Chimbonda and Salgado are mediocre) the answer to losing Warnock is not to flood the right side of defence. Olsson is nothing defensively so I'm hoping Chimbonda can adapt to playing on the left.
thenodrog Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I'm certain that this is how Sam will play him. And I reckon Chimbonda would have been told this before he moved, too - and was more than willing to accept, considering his circumstances over the last couple of seasons. The last time he played for Spuds at Ewood he was left back. also and I know this is notoriously inaccurate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_Chimbonda

herbergeehh Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Found these the other day... That should be a chant... "Duu-du-du-dudu, Chimbonda! Duu-du-du-dudu, Chimbonda!" Not annoying at all
T4E Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Chimbonda was excellent on Saturday, but his reliance on his right foot was massively evident. I'd like to see him up against a decent right winger before deciding if he's up to the task.
alexanders Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I was very impressed with his positional play. Being right-footed or left-footed this is very important. He hardly did a mistake and always seemed to be where the ball was.
Hughesy Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 He probably was involved in the most crucial part of the game, the block that he did in the first half. Warnock wouldnt of got on the end of that one!
mellison24 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 He probably was involved in the most crucial part of the game, the block that he did in the first half. Warnock wouldnt of got on the end of that one! But warnock got the block on Johnson against fulham away which stopped them going 2-0 up and arguably was the pivotal point at which survival was a REAL option for most of us. Sorry to defend warnock, but Pascal has played one game (albeit excellently) and Warnock WAS a great player for us, despite some trying to turn him into a villain.
Guest charlie1 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I don't get why pepole keep having pops at stevie at the end of the day he was brilliant for us and has moved on to a much bigger club. He is miles better than Chimbonda.
Miker Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Pascal Chimbonda's complaining about Spurs having 8 defenders and 3 right backs, saying it's the reason he couldn't get a game. I suppose he wasn't told that we have FOUR right backs in the squad

I suppose he wasn't told that we have FOUR right backs in the squad It'll be interesting to see what happens when Nelsen returns, I suspect we'll see Givet put out to left back and Chimbonda moved to right back. Not entirely sure where that leaves Salgado... Here's a link to that article: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...-Blackburn.html

Not entirely sure where that leaves Salgado... It will be interesting because I don't think Chimbonda will enjoy being on the bench. When the going gets tough apparently he gets a bit frustrated! Givet can work at left back but personally think he is a better centre back. The joy of having competition for places, or 3 right backs in the squad....
