Killzone 2 is going to be a big one for the PS3 though, along with MGS. I'll be buying it on release or close to :tu:

After seeing Shopto's website after a few recommendations on here, I think it might be better to buy games off there, they are all cheaper than in store and I can pre order easier.

Top games coming:

MGS

Killzone 2

GTA IV

Home (Come on hurry up). It'll be fun but hardly groundbreaking. Should be good for a laugh though.

Lack of updates for a long time now, hopefully the ingame XMB is coming in the next one. I have been told that it is likely to be in the next one but they might release a smaller update just before it, no idea why though.

Just downloading the sky diving game from the PS Store. Will update when played. Not expecting much for £3.50 but should keep me going for half an hour.

EDIT

Ok, downloaded and played - no shouldnt say played - fell asleep while moving the pad around in a joyless way. Big thumbs down from me. I normally say that others might enjoy it but I cant see anyone lasting more than 15 mins with it. I feel like I have just been robbed of £3.50 even when I agreed to meet up with the mugger and give it to him without a fight

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE RELEASE A DECENT NEW GAME PLEEEEEEEASE.

I moved all of my game vouchers onto 1 card today and found I have nearly £100 on them. I have never held vouchers for this long ever.

Just completed Resistance and I must say I am looking forward to the next one now. That's Obivion, Resistance and Uncharted I have played in full and I can't recommend the tio enough. I just need to get spiderman back and finish that now!

The best thing to do with Spiderman is to use the disc as a beer matt

I quite enjoy it, but it is stupidly difficult in places. It wouldn't be so bad but for the camera and erratic control of spidey. It would be a shame not to complete it. It is the special edition with the never ever to be offered to anyone else option of controling the green goblin as well. Oh, wait...

Dont get me wrong, I love swinging through the city as spidy but as you say, the camera is mental on it - something which the devs could have easily sorted had they given a stuff about the game and not just cashing in on the film

Ok, I have finished all of my games and had been replaying through call of duty and rainbow 6 vegas - and obviously sticking the odd game of fifa on as well but enough was enough I had to have something new. Stood in Game realising that I have played most of the decent games I ended up getting the Orange Box - even though it pained me to because Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 is out next month and I know I will like that more and also, I am starting to get sick of the endless FPS coming out.

Anyway, onto the game.

Played some of Half Life too and something has started to grate with me already. You play this and you are going to see lots of the orange loading bar. Small gripe I know but it feels like you have just run into a wall every time it pops up. So, the game. Lots of talking at the start to get you into the story though its not pulling me in yet. I suspect its going to pick up but the main thing is that its there to keep me going until more games come out.

Not going to even look at episode 1 or 2 until I play through the normal one (I think thats right because I dont think they are separate games - are they?)

Portal - I dont normally care much for this type of game. I want to have fun while playing and puzzles isn't my idea of fun however, I put it one and two hours later I find myself still playing it. The next night when I loaded it instead of going for Half Life I go for this. The little voice that follows you round is pretty funny too.

Team Fortress 2 - I like this. For me, it seems to do what Warhawk does which is pick up any time you want have a couple of games and jump out again - always fun pick up and play stuff.

For those looking for a good value for money game that will take you a long time to complete everything it has to offer this is it. I bought it as a stepping stone until other games come out and it will certainly do the job (had other games been out though I dont think I would have picked it up)

There is indeed. Some like it, some don't. You'll have to wait and see ;)

As for the package itself, I have always liked Half Life on the PC so will probably pick it up sometime in the future.

Was playing Uncharted earlier, I think the % completion thing is skewed, I did upto 36% in about an hour or 2 then played the next day for another hour or two and only moved to 40%. It's a great game but it all seems to be going too fast :(.

I am one of these people sometimes that will spend around 6 to 8 hours completing a game like unchartered to then sit there and go - wow, that was over quickly.

But sometimes I think I may need to look in the mirror so that I can draw a dart board on my face and make sure the bulls eye is right between my eyes - I would then go round to Phil Taylors house and ask him to try and hit the bull - that way I may wake up to the fact thats the games are not that bad value for the time you spend on them. Lets look at it really. What else could you spend between £30 and £40 (not going to say £50 because I hope people are buying the game from the tinterweb now so it should be cheaper) and spend 6 to 8 hours playing the main game - not to mention longer if the game also comes with online. Just think, you take your mrs to the pictures and in some places by the time you have bought your tickets and grub/drinks and watched your hour and a half film your £20 to £30 down.

On saying all this I will of course be on again sometime soon complaining that I completed Metal Gear Solid in 2 mins and I want my money back.

Portal is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played.

Didn't want it to end.

The twist at the end is brilliant

Finished it and yes, what a nice ending. Even though the last level was long it was the one before that did my head in.

Unless it's name is Oblivion, I find I don't even have the patience for really long video games now anyways. I remember when I played Final Fantasy 8 back in the day. I put 60 hours into that friggin' game. No way could I do that nowadays. Just thinking back to all those random battles sends chills down my spine.

Got to say (apart from PES) im very impressed with ps3 online. And free. All these xbox fanboys preaching about xbox online, which is a fiver a month or whatever.

Also anyone have a completed COD4 that they want to sell lol. Im on a student budget here but even pre owned ones are going for 35 quid. Never seen a game hold its price as well as COD4!

We don't mind paying for live because it's still better. Plus, the PS3 will make you pay once the service is more popular and more developed. I'm not a fanboy, but that's just a fact.

I dont know that it is a fact Eddie. I suspect the service will stay free but things like Home you will have to pay for.

I think that initially HOME will remain free, however you will have to pay for items such as furniture for your house etc. The good thing about HOME is that they are going to introduce a 360 like "achievements" system, this for me is excellent as on the 360 it often made me replay games or try stuff out online that I would normally not have done so as to get the achievement points.

In other news I downloaded the demo of Everybody's Golf from the EU store and loved it, very easy to pick up and play and look forward to picking it up when it comes out next month.

Heard it all before - click

I was very interested when HAZE was first talked about but with all the delays my interest has pretty much gone. They had the chance to bring this out in November then January but they didnt. They then make the date April - Are they mental? The problem they have is that instead of having loads of people who would have picked it up if they had released it when they said they are now putting the game up against:-

R6V2

Resident Evil 5

Mercenaries 2

Metal Gear Solid

GTA

Now, in that list where do you put Haze. I dont knock them if they pushed the game back (I think after seeing COD4 and realising that they needed to sort some things out) to make it better but their timing couldnt be worse. I suspect that this could be a good game that will be missed by many - including me.

Totally agree about Haze, looked like a very good game but by delaying it and then releasing it in April it is going to be buried by avalanche of good games coming out in March and April.

I see that you have listed Resident Evil 5, no chance that this game is coming out this year, I too have seen it listed by retailers for release in April 2008 but from what I have read it is likely to come out in Spring or Autumn 2009.

Yeah, I agree with you there but was just going from the listings. Hardley any of the game has been shown so far so it does look a way off.

Was thinking of getting a HDTV for my PS3 only really, haven't got SkyHD yet so don't want to break the bank. Looking for something between £150-200 and found this in Argos for £179.

Not massively up to date with all the facts and figures, but the contrast and res look decent for the price and it has a HDMI socket.

Any ideas or thoughts on the above? (As Cocker hasn't accepted my idea of going halves on the £3m set )

Thanks
