Had a go on one the other night, joypads feel really lightweight which is a good thing. We tried using the controllers downstairs in the pub and it still worked with the console being upstairs so heres to Smackdown vs Raw sessions on the big screen!!!

To answer this question, you don't actually need one unless you have a HDTV. Sony ship a standard analogue cable that will work on all TV's however you won't get HD unless you get a HDMI cable and your TV can take one.

Keep in mind too that you can use a component cable in place of an HDMI cable for your HD TV unless of course your tv is 1080p. I say this because my tv is 1080i and I use the component cable I bought for my PS2.

Have had it up now for an hour and a half and havent played a game yet. Have been sat waiting for the downloads to complete - GT, Teken and Resistance all coming down - taking ages.

Havent worked out how to get it to work wirelessley yet so just running through the cable.

Looks good though

Any luck yet, cocker?

My sign on ID is wolverine77 - I have motorstorm so I may see you online on it at some stage...

I added that comment at 19:10 and was paged to go into work at 19:15 and stayed there until 22:00 - not a happy chap. Left it downloading:-

Teken

Ridge Racer

Genji

F1

Resistance

So when I got in they had all come in apart from Genji which was still coming down.

I had a blast on each and this is what I thought - if anyone cares:-

Teken - as close to the arcade that I have seen. Like I say, only had a few fights but worth the £7 I paid for it.

Ridge Racer - very slip slidey handling indeed - again got a very arcadey feel to it - looks nice but I wouldnt pay £40 for it

F1 - I have had a few F1 games in the past and must admit that I was very impressed - would definitely consider this.

Resistance - As I say, I have never liked these sort of games - maybe because I am not very good at them - and playing this proved it. I couldnt last two mins without dying however, I did keep playing for a while - would have a few more cracks at it

Wolverine - I will send you a friend request when I bang the machine on later (if the damm pager dosent wreck my fun again) Will probably spend the first half an hour trying to get it so see my wireless router

Does anyone find the new pads difficult to use? It may just be me but the R2 and L2 buttons seem much smaller and my sausage fingers keep slipping off.

I am still quite shocked at how big and heavy it is - I was told it was but it still dosnt prepare you for it

About Motostorm:

I gave it a good play yesterday and the tracks have started to repeat but you have to do them with different vehicles - I am sure that I have only had about 6 tracks - is this right or will there be more?

Kammy/Wolverine - I have sent you the friend requests :tu:

Cheers Cocker.

There aren't many tracks at all in Motorstorm, as you say you have to revisit them with different vehicles and try different routes. The trick is to see which route suits each vehicle.

As for the console itself, it is quite chunky isn't it? I always prefer chunky and heavy as it generally means better built. Do you not think t looks a bit like a toastie maker or a health grill? That's the first thing the wife said...

My name on it is rovers95 if anyone wants too add me and have an online game of motostorm.

I have just had a couple of games - 12 people in a race at times. No slow down or anything and the games go straight in - I am impressed.

Have spent a full day on it today playing more of the tennis game and downloaded a few more games/demo's:-

Super Rub a Dub - fun about 5 mins while you use the sinaxis pad - not much more than a miniclip game after

Blast (something or other) Like old school asteroids - nothing more - dont bother downloading

Genji - Did you know they are making PS2 games for the PS3. No well take a look at this and you will see. The only game (apart from the above two tests) that I have been very dissapointed with.

Has anyone mastered Motostorm with the Sinaxis? Bloody difficlult I tell thy.

Also, I had a few more games on Motorstorm online last night and I do think there is some sort of cheating going on. At the START of the race where you cant use your boost I was wiped out by a bike using boost. Now, the use of the boost is bad enough but how did the bike blow my rally car up?

Again, going down one of the straights I used boost all the way down and so did the guy in front but where as mine ran out he carried on using his and went flying off. Something isnt quite right here me thinks

Looks like cheats are everywhere. I am often left wondering about that when playing pretty much any game online. Not much we can do I'm afraid, except hope the game makers create patches to circumvent it.

Casino Royale came today! Impressive!

The question I always ask though is - what do they get from it. I always like having a good game of pro evo against someone equal to me and if I loose I sit back and say fair play and we play some more and I may win the next match - thats the fun of playing.

I once asked someone who had cheated against me why he did it and his reply was - to get his online score higher - what the hell is the point - the point is to play the game not to cheat someone else out of their enjoyment.

One word cocker - losers.

Flopsy - good article, though I have to say this bit made me chuckle: "They're [consoles] just so limited: conveniently crippled by the manufacturers, forcing you to spend money when you shouldn't need to"

That wouldn't happen on a widespread and consistant basis with the pc industry, would it..? <_<

I used to hammer Delta Force 2 online on the PC until cheats ruined it.

To be honest, the online gaming world as a whole suffers not just from cheats but from 'uberplayers' who have nothing beter to do than to play all day every day.

there are ways around that for the PC, you're quite limited with a console.

Still my 3 year old PC, that cost me £500 is scoring as good graphics scores as a PS3 (withought the HD output, but I can get that if I wanted.

My new uber@#/? PC kicks everything arse, but it cost 4 times as much as PS3, but upgrading wount be neccessary for 5 years or so. And that can play High Def.

Plus there's a lot more scope for games, moding etc.

PC's can certainly outperform consoles, but I still will prefer a console and a tv for playing games with friends. Even if you have a huge monitor and controllers it just doesn't seem the same.

I can quite happily hook my PC up via DVI to the HDMI port of my 42" HD TV and I can use either wired or wireless XBOX 360 controllers. Kind of makes it identical to a console in that respect.

Oh I'm sure, I just have some mental block when it comes to that. Not really sure why.

Can't say I understand the logic to the Playstation Store just yet - i downloaded the lemmings demo on launch day and got the Rub a Dub demo for the missus last week. Now I have decided to purchase the full games, they aren't there and instead, Go Sudoku has appeared.

I am a bit disappointed, especially as the games are still advertised on it.

Anyway, nothing I can do today but email them. I will be setting of for OT soon!

The only one I would pay for at the moment and have paid for is Tekken. The others arent really up to much.
