Cocker, glad you told me about those games, I don't think I will bother with a US account now. I will just wait for Sony to get round to the UK (as usual).

As always though, these are only my opinions and other people may well like them. I think that the US version gets a good update to the shop every week so I will keep checking back for now and let you know if anything decent comes up. (You can buy old PS2 games on it for about £5 each but who wants to play them when you have a ps3 thats what I say)

Latest Rumor is that PES7 is going to be better on PS3:

Not sure if there is any truth in this, the only thing is that PES is developed in Japan, the 360 has totally flopped there so maybe Konami have decided to utilise the power and capacity of the PS3.

Have to say that at the moment I am a little dissapointed. I wouldnt mind buying a new PS3 game but cant see anything of any use coming out till September. The only game before that, that could even be considered is Ghost Recon and I am not even a bit excited about that. I have decided against Spiderman as I cant bring myself to spend the money on a game that I dont think looks that good.

Roll on September when we will hopefully (I say hopefully because they could get put back) have:-

Fifa (will get Pro Evo as well)

Killzone

Kane and Lynch

Here's to hoping I can wait that long before spending money on one of the poor game out now

Right, weird one here.

Just been round to the Mrs brothers house and his PS3 is playing up.

1. The pad will only work when the USB is plugged in.

2. He cant turn the system off with the pad - if you press the PS button the thing locks up

3. If you put in motostorm the cars go in reverse

4. Trying to exit the game will just lock it up.

The only thing he has done is sign up for the jap network. Has this happened to anyone else who has signed up?

My reccomendation was to reset it to the factory settings.

Yep. Agree with both statments. Motorstorm is weird and yes, take it back. Even though people hark on about the 360 having hardware issues, there have been many similar claims with the PS3. Probably just a duff one, the shop should replace no problem.

In the special edition you can play as The Goblin - not worth the extra £10 I reckon as this should be unlockable anyway

* Dave Jaffe is forming his own studio focusing on downloadable titles. SCEA is involved in two of his upcoming projects

* Relay (a partnership between SOE and Factor 5) is a MMO with a western sci-fi look. The game has strategy elements like Halo wars and Advance Wars.

* the next Syphon Filter game could be a PSN title with episodic content. Once all the content has been released a Blu-ray version may be released.

* A new top down shooter, similar to Capcom's 1942 was shown.

Stranglehold Gets Hard Boiled

John Woo's upcoming Stranglehold video game will deliver a one-two punch for the Sony PlayStation 3 when it is released this summer. In addition to the game, which continues the story of Inspector Tequila (Chow Yun-Fat), a PS3 collector's edition ($70) of the game will also include a full-length remastered high-def version of the 1992 film Hard Boiled, the Hong Kong action film starring the character.

PS3 games are stored on Blu-ray discs, which can hold up to 50 Gigabytes of video and game content. A new 15th anniversary DVD will be issued this summer, too - the DVD has been out of print for several years. The game will also be released for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Windows PCs.

Director Woo (Face/Off and Mission: Impossible II) says, "Stranglehold will allow people to actually be Tequila, taking out enemies using duel-wieldgin weapons and bringing together heart-stopping stunts, vehicle-to-vehicle combat and fluid, seamless gunplay to create an interactive Hong Kong action film experience."

I just watched the HD trailers from gametrailers and the 3 best games are Socom, Heavenly Sword and Unchartered, what it does show is that while at the moment there may not be to many games on the PS3 the future looks very bright, especially with Sony developing 40 inhouse games.

I personally have not used the Jap Store but a friend uses it all the time and has had no problems whatsoever. Maybe best thing to do is system reset that should clear the problem, or if it still persists take it back to the place where bought from and they will exchange it for a new one, tell them that after 3 hours of use it get extremely hot and switches itself off. I did this when the Missus decided to clean it with a abrasive cloth which left loads of scratches on the top, took it back to game and told them the above and they exchanged it straight away.

Well, I am getting the special edition, but at a cost.

The only way the missus would let me get the game was if I traded one I have. As it stands, I am going to surrender motorstorm (I know a download is coming, but I have to be honest - I just don't enjoy playing it like I do Burnout Revenge), and take advantage of the £28 off deal with Game.

I really wanted to enjoy the game, but I have never sat down and thought 'now for a good race'. It's good, but I want better!

EDIT: Warhawk looks impressive, and LittleBigPlanet seems very interesting...

Of all those though, how many are exclusives to the ps3. Thats what the console really needs, and they have to be killer titles, ones that make people say "Gonna have to buy a ps3 now"

I am looking forward to Pro Evo 7 anf Fifa 08 slogging it out. With both having a next gen outing on the 360 last year, I expect the developers to be able to create a good version of each first time round. Pro Evo 7 will apparently include official licences of the Prem and Championship as well as many other moajor leagues.

However, I have a few suggestions:

Why can't these games include Ewood Park, and all the other stadia of the Premiership? Does anyone remember a PSone game with Ewood in? I think it was World Tournament Soccer or something... Anyway, it adds to the realism in my book. If anyone has played Fifa 06 and Fifa 07, they will know most of the generic grounds are in both, so surely it would have made sense to add some more, until they have done them all? I know they only go after the fans of teams with big fanbases, but it is one of the things that really bugs me. Even if they could include some sort of stadium builder.

Use of the EyeToy (or Playstation Eye) to add realistic faces to the game, or allow importing faces from files stored on the PS3 (like you can in Sims on the PC).

The option of having dodgy decisions. I know this will be controversial but I think it would be especially fun for games against your mates. Should be an option for turning off though.

Including the managers, subs, officials and crowd, rather than a one dimensional image. In fact, the crowd should wear the colours of the team they are supporting, reather than random garb.

I think that the PS3 gives developers the chance now to take realism one step further.

As far as I know this wasnt true, just an April Fool or something - bad news I know. Not to worry, there will be a patch of some sort that will solve it.

I am sure this is something to do with the licencing. They must have some sort of budget to include certain stadiums and Ewood definitely wont be on their hit list. I dont think it matters anyway that much because all you see when you play is the pitch. I think a patch came out for the PC that aloud Ewood to be included.

I pretty much bought one of the worst fooy games ever just to use this. It was called 'This is Football' You would have to take a good few shots of your head with the eye toy and then it would wrap the image around the player model - the results were shocking which is why I dont think it was included in many game (Tony Hawk also had it) Another thought could be that it did work really well and I am just butt ugly and so I thought the player of me looked funny.

I dont know if you noticed but look at the crowd on Pro Evo - there isnt one. They had to sacrifice the crowd because if they put one in it would slow things down. The PS3/360 will have no trouble with this though.

Something I have heard is that PES is being desinged FOR the PS3 and will be ported accross to the 360 and that it will look allot better on the PS3. This could just be the daily bull that we read every day now to start the PS3/360 war off again.

Just cant wait to see any screenshots/vids of each game - These two are the ones I have been waiting for

Yes, but I am glad they didnt come out on the PS3 because the 360 version of PES just seemed rushed and unfinished - The PS2 version was better

Funny you should mention PES7 as I came across this:

Pro Evo finally scores equaliser with licences

"According to retail store Game, the next Pro Evo (pro evolution soccer 7) has finally cancelled out Fifa's trump card - Licences.

The store manager showed me the documnet which they recieve to push pre orders, showing information on the biggest games upcoming in 2007.

Among reading through i come to Pro Evo and the following was on there,

All international teams fully licence, F.A premier League licence, German League licence and international cup competitions licenced.

it also stated the its was to be released on Wii, PSP, DS, 360, ps2, PC and PS3. strangely the PS3 version was listed as Pro Evolution Soccer 7 '1st team edition' and had alot more features and modes listed than any other version.

Quick note, there was no Metal gear solid 4 scheduled, HALO 3 was down for September 26th, Heavenly sword was down for Sep 26th."
