joey_big_nose Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I think we should periodically look back on this thread. Sam's signings looking impressive at the moment. Jacobsen - Quality Givet - Quality Diouf - Looking better all the time. Hoilett - Quality (I know he didn't sign him, but he has picked him which is important) NZonzi - Decent, not really that impressive so far. But in the context of the fee good business. Jury as yet out on Salgado, Di Santo, Kalinic and Van Heerden. Probably know more about them after the Forest game. I would say for Sam to emulate Hughes' record he would need Kalinic and Salgado to perform also. If Van Heerden flops (which I fear he may) thats not really that much of an issue. Di Santo, as he is on loan, is not really that much of an issue. Well done Sam so far.
Exiled in Toronto Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I would say for Sam to emulate Hughes' record he would need Kalinic and Salgado to perform also. To match Hughes' record, Kalinic would have to have 2 25-goal seasons and we would have to sell some of that lot for 40 million, neither of which I can see happening.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Linked to another winger: Blackburn are tracking Benfica winger Fabio Coentrao.
broadsword Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Yeah, can see that, we're short on wing-men. Just so long as he doesn't play central midfield, we're over-stocked with reliable, always-fit, mercurial central midfielders.
