1864roverite Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Montego Bay beach, "rummed" up watching the sun rise. Heaven sent.

American Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 A girl named Beth in high school who sat down at the perfect angle. In reality, I'd say the mountains of Utah. When I lived out there for 6 months, the snow capped mountains on the drive to work were the only highlight.

tony gale's mic Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Two of my favourites: Queenstown, NZ View from Sugar Loaf Mountain, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
ABBEY Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Overlooking Tockholes AND the tower - she must be high up? abbey village ..you can see tockholes and the tower and mile upon mile of countryside views.
philipl Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 This was pretty much how I saw Skogafoss in Iceland in June 1985.
philipl Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. There are 16 lakes in a winding karst valley. The waters carry so much dissolved limestone that the lakes were caused by the build up of vegetable matter becoming petrified and then covered by tufa. Each lake is linked to the one below by waterfalls, some small, some a bit bigger.
philipl Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The Li River near Guelin, China. Breathtakingly beautiful- karst scenery again but this time caused by an uplift in the earth's surface leaving a flat base and these wonderful mountains.
philipl Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I have found any pictures that remotely do it justice but La Compagnia in Quito is the most beautiful church I have ever been in. St John's Co-Cathedral Valletta, Malta the most breathtaking.

Yep that's an amazing bit of the world...Guilin is a pretty horrendous city but Yangshuo is a lovely place. Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya. One of my favourite views ever but the picture doesnt really do justice to the sheer scale.
tashor Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Sunset Morecambe Bay ...........................
philipl Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Doesn't do it justice but Suilven from across Fionn Loch, Sutherland, Scotland. I haven't done an easy walk to match the path from Inverkirkaig past the Kirkaig Falls up to Fionn Loch.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 If anyone gets the opportunity to go to New York City then I highly recommend everyone to go to the top of the Rockefeller Center and see the breathtaking views across New York. Not the best pictures but it will give you a taste of what I experienced. This picture is overlooking Central Park. If anyone has ever been to Central Park then they will know just how big it is and just how tiny it looks in this picture. This picture is of course the famous Empire State Building. We ended up staying up the top overlooking the city for about 2 hours because the sun started to set so we got to see NYC in the day, sunset and night time. A must do.
modes98 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The Best I have seen Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia
American Rover12 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Have to say all the best ones I can think of came from my trip to Australia. Walking the Sydney Bridge at night with the Harbor and the City and the Opera house is really something else. Also swimming in the great barrier reef is something that is hard to describe in words.
Mc Love Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 View from the coast of Kerry and the Blasket Islands
whittle blue Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 This That looks like the Matterhorn, Tris? I've been part way up (only on the funicular railway).
American Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 In reality, I'd say the mountains of Utah. When I lived out there for 6 months, the snow capped mountains on the drive to work were the only highlight. Doesn't fully do it justice, as it was from a crap camera phone:
