JAL Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Far stronger squad? That I'm not sure about. They have a better midfield, which is crucial, but the rest I'm not sure. I'd probably take our back four now that they have lost Lescott and up front would you really choose Saha over what we have? He'd be better than Roberts, but realistically Roberts should be 4/5th choice even in our squad. ''They have a better midfield, which is crucial'' Tomorrow eddie they have players out, we have a full squad to chose from, that could mean, victory is all but ours. We will see!

Shabani Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Everton are a one dimensional side who rely on a giant with an afro and an aussie with a penchant for being in the fight place at the right time. After last weeks display we're strong favourites 3-0
Jackson Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Agreed. Morale in the squad will be good at the mo. I think we may edge this.
philipl Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I can't work up any enthusiasm or optomism I'm afraid. We'll do OK, have plenty of the ball, give them a game but our lack of a cutting edge will hurt us again. I'd take a draw now. I am more excited about this one than I have been about a Rovers game for a while. Fairly bounced out of bed thinking about it.
The Prof. Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Looking at some of the Everton forums there seems to be a consensus that they will give us a 3 or 4-0 pasting, can't see it myself i think it will be close. I just hope we give it a right proper go, make it hard for them to take all three points. Honestly I'd take a point right now if it was on offer. And that my friend is the difference between us and other supporters. They start by believe they will win, we are: 'realistic' 'have our feet on the ground' 'are not a bunch of dreamers' 'are not dreamers' 'know our football' 'don't have our heads in the clouds' And bet I know who enjoys fotball the most.

Don't know. Is it better to expect the worst and be delighted when it doesn't happen or expect the best and be let down. In my book I know which is the more enjoyable.

The latter every time.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I am more excited about this one than I have been about a Rovers game for a while. Fairly bounced out of bed thinking about it. Let me know what you're drinking Phil, I'll try a pint or two. What's getting to me is we're in the bad position of not knowing our best team. When you look at what we have on the bench I wonder just who should be starting.
roversmum Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I've been going on about some of the dire stuff we got under Hughes before, but as few take notice it gets a bit tiresome after a while. Back to the day. Who to chose for this afternoon's match? I've got an idea. The Manager sees them every day in training. Why not let him decide? If it doesn't work out, please form an orderly queue for the rope.
Blueandwhitemike Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Setting off now, I think with a bit of luck we can get something, with a lot of luck we might win, c'mon Rovers!
HemelRover Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Same side as last week apart from Salgado in for Jacobson. Text from Rovers. Bench - Brown, Nelsen, Emerton, McCarthy, Kalinic, Nzonzi, Hoilett
joey_big_nose Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Same side as last week apart from Salgado in for Jacobson. Text from Rovers. Bench - Brown, Nelsen, Emerton, McCarthy, Kalinic, Nzonzi, Hoilett Massively harsh on Jacobsen?! Would of liked Emerton to come in for Andrews. Intresting to see McCarthy on the bench.
Bobby G Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Jacobsen must be disappointed. Not even on the bench. Injured maybe? Squad looks stronger than in a long time. No place for Di Santo in the 16.
John Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Jacobsen's wife gave birth in the early hours of this morning: http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,...1801103,00.html
yellowsubmarine Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 This is so unfair to Jacobsen. He did nothing wrong to suggest he should be dropped. I really hope to see the actual team starting lineup.
Bobby G Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Seems like its cause of his child being born.

brfc4ever Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 This is so unfair to Jacobsen. He did nothing wrong to suggest he should be dropped. I really hope to see the actual team starting lineup. Maybe he didn't sleep all night
den Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I'd have played Chimbonda Nelsen Samba Givet,
yellowsubmarine Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Me bad. Congrats to Lars on his new baby! Anyway ROVERS-SG is providing our second match commentary on our twitter page - http://twitter.com/ROVERSSG. For those who aren't able to catch it on tv or over the internet, just pop by our page. It's free.
AspRover Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 BBC website showing unchanged team from wolves with the exception of Salgado in for Jacobsen. edit - I was a bit slow with that one wasn't I? note to self - read previous pages before posting!
T4E Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Pleased there's a reason for Lars' absence, was worried there. Can't agree on that team den, Chimbo needs time at left back and Nelsen is miles away from the standard of Samba and Givet. No complaints with the line up, Sam earned the right to pick this team last week.
tony gale's mic Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Not overly happy with the lineup - what worked vs Wolves is different to what works vs Everton. But will give Sam the benefit of the doubt...
Lathund Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Jacobsen must be disappointed. He just became a father, and on his own birthday to boot! I think he'll get over any disappointment
